"Man is faced with death and the fear of death today more than ever because he is so close to life. One is most fearful when they get close to that which they fear. If you are afraid you will fall off the cliff, you will become more and more fearful as you get closer to the edge. If you find yourself becoming more and more fearful, it would become a clue that you are getting closer to the edge. If Man is becoming more and more fearful, it should be obvious to note that he is getting closer and closer to himself. " ~ Derek Lamar (Man Is Dead, 2000)
Tuesday June 27th
"Remember that as you anticipate the thunder, the lightning has already flashed. This is what Reality is." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Monday June 26th
"Mind is infinite and complete unto itself and yet unending. The only thing we don't know is that we already know everything. The information is there but we need a bigger mail box. We need to open our minds and receive who we are." ~ Derek Lamar, Fourth Way Teacher
Sunday June 25th
"Forget about the human brain. It is just an old radio which receives transmissions. You do not need a better radio, you need to know that you are the transmissions." ~ Derek Lamar, Fourth Way Teacher
Saturday June 24th
"One who meditates upon the Self and realizes the Self sees the Self everywhere, and rejoices in the Self. Such a one lives in freedom and is at home wherever he goes. But those who pursue the finite are blind to the Self and live in bondage." ~ The Upanishads
"One who meditates upon and realizes the Self discovers that everything in the cosmos -- energy and space, fire and water, name and form, birth and death, mind and will, word and deed, mantram and meditation -- all come from the Self." ~ The Upanishads
"Control the senses and purify the mind. In a pure mind there is constant awareness of the Self. Where there is constant awareness of the Self, freedom ends bondage and joy ends sorrow." ~ The Upanishads
"The Self is one, though it appears to be many. Those who meditate upon the Self and realize the Self go beyond decay and death, beyond separateness and sorrow. They see the Self in everyone and obtain all things." ~ The Upanishads
Friday June 23rd
"No one can understand the sounds of a drum without understanding both drum and drummer; nor the sounds of a conch without understanding both the conch and its blower; nor the sounds of a vina without understanding both vina and musician." ~ The Upanishads
"As there can be no water without the sea, no touch without the skin, no smell without the nose, no taste without the tongue, no form without the eye, no sound without the ear, no thought without the mind, no wisdom without the heart, no work without hands, no walking without feet, no scriptures without the word, so there can be nothing without the Self." ~ The Upanishads
"Close your eyes and imagine that knowing is light and see the burst of light upon the face of nothingness, imagine darkness expressing the extremes of the infinite variety of light and degrees of light as it enters part of one's vision in this realm of knowing as it appears as day divided by night. Imagine the flow of emotion of Love within as the sea of creativity and allow it to shimmer upon one's horizon within their mind. Imagine the fabric of our mind as the substance of all that is and the soil within which all ideas are planted and call this land. This land is your conscious thought as the sea is your unconscious. Also the light is conscious as the night is unconscious. Imagine the expression of knowledge as trees and ideas as leaves as well as all vegetation as the growth and expansion of mind. See life appear on the land representing and expressing the living creative thoughts of Spirit. These creat-ions are creatures which express the creative nature of mind and thoughts. Realize that all of this is happening within your mind just as what you know of this in "your world" is also happening within your MIND." ~ Rama L. Kered, Kunda Master

"Patience is not a virtue. God is not patient. MIND is NOW and all is NOW in Reality. Patience from a Divine perspective is a false point of view based upon the dualistic nature of man. We say that patience is a virtue because it is through that 'stillness' that man is able to step outside of himself and thus into the NOW. If a person is sick and gets angry they are encouraged to 'be patient' and wait for the healing. Perhaps in a moment of stillness where they can step outside of themselves and realize within the 'I AM' of their Consciousness the NOWNESS of the Perfect Health that MIND is, then in the NOWNESS of that realization they will be able to step outside of that patience and receive the healing of consciousness and perceive the Reality of perfect health. We must always be able to view concepts from the Divine perspective as well as the metaphysically correct point of view." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Wednesday June 21st
"Action prompted by pleasure or profit cannot help anyone to cross this sea. Seek a teacher who has realized the Self. To a student whose heart is full of love, who has conquered his senses and passions, the teacher will reveal the Lord of Love." ~ The Upanishads

Tuesday June 20th
"It is a travesty of true religion to consider one's own religion as superior and others' as inferior. All religions enjoin the worship of One God who is all-pervasive. He is present even in a droplet of water or in a tiny speck of dust. Even those who worship idols, worship not the stone of which it is made; they try to see God who resides in it. Various religions are like the leaves of a tree. No two leaves are alike, yet there is no antagonism between them or between the branches on which they grow. Even so is there an underlying unity in the variety which we see in God's creation." ~ Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869-1948) Harijan
"To the Truth Seeker in esoteric circles, one may seem to feel that even THEY have come upon the Highest viewpoint of Reality but all washes across Consciousness like the cycles and tides of the wave of realization and there is no accounting throughout individual lifetimes what is best for each individual at any given time. Each person is experiencing what they must to get to where their own Higher Good has taken them to bring them to a Higher Understanding of themselves and Truth or God. All paths no only lead to the same place, but in effect, the Truth of Life itself is coursing through the veins of consciousness and the Intention of MIND knowing itself is the force through which we are all guided in all things despite the appearances." ~ Derek Lamar, Fourth Way Teacher
Monday June 19th
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." ~ Bertrand Russell
Someday June 18th
"What does it mean to love one's father? Is it any good to pretend to love one's father? How many of you really love your father? How many feel your father really loves you... even knows who you are for that matter? It is not our destiny to love our father or to love who they were but rather to love who they really are. This often takes many years of anger for the pain we feel they have caused us. And we have a right to feel this anger... and we must feel this anger... we must feel this anger in order to let it go. Our parents are our first lie about God. We are born thinking that they are God and then eventually, inevitably we discover we have been deceived because they cannot live up to this role and we feel cheated, betrayed, manipulated and any number of other feelings. Often this is multiplied by why we chose them to be our parents and what it is we need to go through in order that we be released from other lies which occurred before we ever got here. There is one Father and we are that Father just as we are our father and he us and in this Oneness is the answer to all of our questions. A time for love, a time for hate, a time for peace... I swear it's not to late." ~ Derek Lamar (with some Ecclesiastes and Pete Seeger thrown in... Happy Father's Day)

Saturday June 17th
"The world reacts even to the mention of the name Jesus. It has, over time, become synonymous with Christianity and thus it represents every childhood suppression that humanity feels and has yet to overcome. Thus the benefits from hearing the teachings of Jesus are lost in a quagmire of infantile fantasies and unresolved conflicts with parenting and authority issues waiting to be set free. But how can this ever happen? And is this necessary? Yes it is. Religion is a stockade of mental and emotional oppression which is locked onto all of us and until we free ourselves of the ignorance it has become, the Truth which it obscures hangs in limbo. This is not just Christianity which looms over us in the West but all religions over each of its peoples even though they would tell you they do not believe and thus are untouched. But often what we no longer believe becomes rigid based on the wrong reasons and it prevents us from discovering amazing things about who we are and where we are going." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist

Friday June 16th
"Love is knowing how important some things are for others even when they are commonplace for you and letting that happen." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist

"Meditation is for the purpose of stillness where a window of reality opens up despite the busy-ness of our personality." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Tuesday June 13th
"Striving for perfection is an attempt to discover the source of all good, but stopping that attempt and recognizing it is already is enlightenment." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist

"The touch of something Higher is the glimpse into the Eternity which reflects the truest nature of who you are." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist

"Every feeling which is felt is but an aspect of the entirety of the love which makes up all there is." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Saturday June 10th
"Everything one sees is part of the rest of everything else." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Friday June 9th
"Each moment is but a breath minus the rest of infinity." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Spirit continues...Thursday June 8th
"Life is not waiting from spiritual insight to move you to act nor is it the attempt to make things happen and call it God's plan. The interaction between Higher Mind and oneself is a dance whereby eventually oneness is achieved and the movement and expression is the unfoldment of that which has always been... love." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Wednesday June 7th
"The dance of love is one where there are no partners for in true love there is no separation. We see what is real of ourselves and what is real is harmonious, perfect and wonderful. This is the True God which is not understood by religion. In God there is no imperfection nor the consciousness of imperfection therefore God does not see sin... and there is none. To look upon another and to see sin is not to be blind to the sin that is there but rather to only see the whole perfection which is always waiting to be revealed. We must look beyond our misperceptions of incompleteness and see the perfect whole." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Tuesday June 6th
"What is heaven but the innate knowingness, on some level, that there must be more to life than what appears here in this earth realm? It is like waking up only to realize that there is something we have forgotten. And to color in the empty spaces with meaning we try our best, often by doing the least, as we create little happy parables, or sometimes horror stories, to explain the world beyond... beyond what we now know. I would guess that the horror stories are created by those who were brought up in households filled with fear while the fairy tales were from those raised in denial. But there are always a few who do not settle for easy answers and they become mystics. It is these who hold up a light for us to follow, not in their footsteps, but in their desires to know more, to accept more, and to let go of more and in doing so we all get closer to the Realty that others only make up stories about. You cannot say you saw the light while you were standing in the shadow. You can only know the light by being bathed in it. Cleansed by it. Nourished by it. Do not simply let the light guide you; you must stand in the light and become one with it and then others will follow you. They will follow you until they can stand in it and become one with it." ~ Derek Lamar, metaphysicist
Monday June 5th
"Our entering into an inward revolution of human existence -- this is the great miracle in which the presence of a new world manifests itself with great clearness. He who does not find the miracle here is not likely to find it anywhere else, and will seek in vain for it in the "far, far away," for the words of Paracelsus hold valid in this respect: "You are long-sighted, you see in the distance, but you do not see close at hand." ~ Rudolf Eucken (1846-1926) The Truth of Religion
Sunday June 4th
"Many would and will argue but Truth is Truth nonetheless, and it is clear and really necessary that mankind begin to let go of the worthless interpretations of great teachings through their religious ignorance and corrupt mental states which not only continue to provoke war but also are the roots to disease and all forms of disaster upon the earth. Jesus did make it clear that we are ONE with God. This was the entire basis of his teaching. He taught that Satan did not exist and that hell was not a place someone ended up in but rather a state of consciousness that we put ourselves through as a result of crooked thinking. He made it clear that God would not, could not and did not create Satan or evil and whatever existence there was of it, was a result of our own human consciousness. Jesus was not a religious man and in fact encouraged his followers to avoid the pitfalls of following the religions of the day. Jesus revealed that church was not the place one would find God in the future and that prayer was a personal experience which required not feeling sorry for oneself but discovering the joy of what reality really is. Jesus did not declare that he was the only way but rather that the individual realization of his own I AMness created the doorway through which one would walk on his path to salvation. Baptism in water is not required even in the bible and communion is a very deep mystical experience which has nothing to do with the crucifixion as much as the crucifixion reflects this deeper message in its own spiritual symbology." ~ Derek Lamar on The Teachings Of Jesus
I AM the Way continues...
Saturday June 3rd
"...Practicing concentration of mind and always acting wisely is the true path to Enlightenment. People have for a long time accumulated mental delusions. They must not argue with worldly people, but must patiently meditate in their inner world of a pure mind in order to attain Enlightenment. Therefore, those who are seeking Enlightenment should keep their minds pure, and patiently keep and practice the three ways. For those who seek Enlightenment there are three ways of practice that must be understood and followed: (1) disciplines for practical behavior, (2) right concentration of mind, and (3) wisdom." ~ excerpts from The Teaching of Buddha
"This information above is very similar to what Gurdjieff came to with his concise formulation of the Fourth Way which were based on the three classic approaches to man's ways of bettering himself: (1) the way of the Yogi, knowledge, (2) the way of the Fakir, mind over matter, and (3) the monk, spiritual discipline and service. These translate symbolically to mind, body and soul as does the Buddhist teaching above. Gurdjieff's approach was the Fourth Way which meant to unite all three thus creating a fourth way. This way is one based on Oneness or Wholeness or Unity... a wholistic or holistic approach." ~ Derek Lamar, Fourth Way Master

"A tree frog or "spring peeper" has replaced the white moth as my sentinel. It bounces down the silent row of bodhisattvas, bounces back again with a minute pum, pum, pum, seeking the dark. Where is the door to Zen? Do you hear the peeping of a tree frog? Begin there! Or there! Or there! (Shunryu Suzukiroshi said, If you have truly understood a frog, you have understood everything.) Zen is life, each moment of our life, thus Zen is everywhere.
Lao Tzu said, When your mind is empty like a valley or a canyon, then you will know the power of the Way. A Zen master says, How can I fill your cup until you empty it? In zazen, one opens to this emptiness, to the great stillness of our true nature, which is also the foundation of the universe. Then pure tears fall in utter relief at finding the way home." ~ Peter Matthiessen (Nine-Headed Dragon River: Zen Journals 1969-1982)
Thursday June 1st
"To look upon the world as undivine is a speculative aberration. God is not jealous of his own works. The world is an abyss of nothingness, if we take away its roots in the Divine." ~ Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888-1975) Fragments Of A Confession
"In the heart of all things, of whatever there is in the universe, dwells the Lord." ~ The Upanishads
"Every man has and has had from everlasting his true and perfect being in the Divine Consciousness." ~ Alfred Lord Tennyson (1809-1892) Memoir
"It is only in my mind I breath and the air is Divine as Mind and this I see and thus I breath in thee and me and for this I am truly set free." ~ Rama L. Kered
