Quote of the Day

Tuesday, December 31st

Everything is in Mind...

"The entire universe functions under law and order. There are rules and regulations that apply to everything. Everyday science is proving that nothing happens by chance. There are laws, rules and regulations that apply to everything. Modern education indicates that success depends upon the knowledge of these laws and rules." ~ Thane of Hawaii

"Realize that in the subjective realm, all minds are one - related - not separated by the restrictions and limitations of the third dimensional plane. Realize the universality of mind. Relax, sit quietly and strive for the realization of Universal Mind in you. Realize the harmony and interrelation of the conscious and subconscious mind. Realize the interrelation of the conscious and subconscious minds to the body and its voluntary and involuntary aspects." ~ Thane of Hawaii
...if you think about it!

Cast your bread...

So it is clear -- such a work as the Instruction (Teaching) must be supported by the recipients (students) -- not by the teacher "making bread". No student, and this particularly applies to the Absolute Scientist and Translator, who is predicated that God is all, has learned the slightest degree of Truth until he sees that he, and he alone, must be the Hand of God that makes the bread that Instruction shall be put forth in the land. ~ Thane of Hawaii (aka Thane Walker, aka Kenneth Walker, aka Eloi-Sun, aka Rev. Wayne Walker) Not So Secret Doctrine, Beverly Hills, 1971

Let us pass out this bread, that we might be One. Eat of this bread, that we might be whole. Know of this bread, that we might be set free. ~ Derek Lamar, Absolute Scientist (A.R.T. Absolute Research Technology)
...upon the waters of many souls

You can give a person a loaf of bread and he will be fed for a day, or you might teach him that he is this bread and he will never go hungry again. ~ Derek Lamar

Invisible Hands...

When asked by Bill Moyers "Do you ever have this sense when you are following your bliss, as I have at moments, of being helped by hidden hands?" Joseph Campbell replied:
"All the time. It is miraculous. I even have a superstition that has grown on me as the result of invisible hands coming all the time - namely, that if you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in the field of your bliss, and they open the doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be." ~ Joseph Campbell (The Power of Myth) with Bill Moyers, PBS series 1986
...Invisible Eyes, Invisible Ears, Invisible Mind, Invisible Oneness

This "bliss" is that same realization of the I AM. This is the knowing of the SELF and a recognition of the Oneness which is, was and always will be that is termed Reality. This is the connection and it is "bliss". But no matter what you call it, we must all proceed forward to achieving an understanding of who and what we are as it relates to this Reality. Enough time has been spent on the meaningless "visible" while all the while the invisible reality of Oneness has gone on unnoticed. And yet every subconscious belief system and construct and self-defeating habit pattern has been acted upon by this "invisible force" because simply it is "Principle" and it must act to "get back what is put out". Namaste. This word "namaste" means "The God in me salutes the God in you", and this is a continuing recognition of the "bliss". Another way of saying this is "The I AM in me salutes the I AM in you." ~ Derek Lamar, 2002

Be Still And Know...

Now, My Consciousness is the inner essence of all Space and all Life. It is the real Substance of My All-comprehending and All-including Mind, whose informing and vitalizing Center is everywhere and Its limit and circumference nowhere. Within the realm of My Mind alone I live and move and have My Being. It both contains and fills all things, and Its every vibration and manifestation are but the expression of some phase of My Be-ing.

This Message is to awaken you to a realization of what You are, to a realization of your real Self. It is intended to make you once more conscious of Me, your Divine Self, so conscious that never again will you be deceived by that other self, which you have imagined as being you and which so long has lured you on by feeding you with its unsatisfying sense pleasures, its mental dissipations and emotional delights.

We have arrived, in the course of our consideration of the process of unfoldment of My Idea, to where the I AM of you, manifesting in your Immortal Soul Body, or in the Thought Image created by My Thinking, is now ready to enter into material form, a form suitable for the earth expression of My Attributes. ~ The Impersonal Life, 1914
...That I AM... And So Are You... God

Friday, December 27th

Be Here Now...

Please do not think that your own enlightenment is dependent upon what the world is going through. Indeed not. Your own realization is always at hand. Remember this always. You are I AM and you must know that despite all appearances what you are is consciousness which is not of the many roles that you play in what appears to be "your world". Always know that all is well with what is and who you are. Nothing can change that. Do not be afraid. As the Master said: "Let not your heart be troubled." ~ Derek Lamar
...and Be Here Always

Even before Lincoln, I AM

Could it be the day after Christmas and the Universe is not depleted? All that consuming and yet not one microgram of illusive reality is absent or out of place? Could it be possible that of the infinite which began just as the earth once began that there is yet still the infinite? So it is with you. You were once all knowing and infinite but having fallen asleep does not change a thing. You are still all knowing and infinite. Yet where there was once only ONE there is truly still only ONE. I AM still all knowing and infinite. ~ Derek Lamar (Out From The Cave And Into The Light)

Merry Christmas

What is Christmas but the birth of the I AM within mankind. And in the beginning was the word, the logos, and the word was with God and the word was God... Consciousness... Truth.... words... power.... light....... meaning....... the DNA of holographic consciousness....

words have power.... ideas have power.... Light BE and there is Light.... The kingdom of Heaven is within you.... Infinite Mind is inner reality. A human is born knowing God within.... this is the Destiny of all... the realization of God within... the birth of God within....

thus Christmas is the Destiny for all of mankind. The virgin birth is symbolic of a pure consciousness... or the completeness of absolute Truth... the mustard seed.... completeness which is not based on quantity but the power of Quality and Quality is the purity of consciousness... Oneness is purity... separateness is duality which aborts divine intention thus even a small moment within consciousness must be "one with the father", a mustard seed's worth of knowing, thus a virgin birth. No room at the inn symbolizes that this birth cannot take place in the usual commonplace arena of ideas but rather out in a "wilderness" state, in an untrampled state of consciousness where the birth might take place unhampered and uninterrupted.

God is in all things

"As an actor in a play appears in many guises, so God when His play is ended
abandons the guise and appears as the One only."

~ Guru Arjan

Of the many roles God plays these are not his true self, the role of God is Oneness, to which is instantly revealed when we awaken from this sleep we find ourselves in. ~ Rama L. Kered

Happy Anniversary to my beautiful wife whom I discover God in daily. We've known each other 32 years now. I would love another 32 at least... but then we will love each other forever. And in this forever we shall continue to discovery God. ~ Derek Lamar

Love sweet Love,

Loving-kindness fulfills the needs that will answer our responsibilities with the least
harm. Loving-kindness and developed consciousness of it will instruct us toward
maturity. Loving-kindness automatically creates a compassionate and courteous person
as its good efforts are sustained. It works on the personality. It secures domestic
tranquility and the promotion of the general welfare. It promotes happiness,
contentment, and a sense of usefulness. Loving-kindness leads to acknowledging the
wonder of Creation and shares its bounty. ~ Jon Grate

To die to one's own self is the greatest strength of all, to discover life as it was truly meant to be lived. ~ Derek Lamar

Saturday, December 21st

I AM here, now and forever...

When one comes to understand the great sacrifice is self-induced, one become free to be the self, to live the self, to experience the self as it is, in the ever present NOW. For in this place of NOW, perfection and joy - Love, Light and Laughter - delight in the livingness in Human form is the ALL for limitation, qualification cannot exist, does not exist. There is no poverty - for there are no riches. There is only the IS of the experience, the expression of Divinity, which is the self viewing the self, touching the self, relishing the self - be it work, play, dining, touching, talking. Man (or woman) talking to the self and nothing more. Man (or woman) mingling with the eternal essence of IAM Divinity, which is the self - regardless of THAT which is perceived as separate from self, in material or phenomenal appearance. It can be a personalized self or impersonal. Again, a matter of dual expression and polarity that does not exist, cannot exist in the Eternal NOW, ever present. ~ chanelled by "27 Speakers" (Higher Path)
...I AM That I AM

Friday, December 20th

Don't just sit there...

It is true you must let "truth" or "mind" or "consciousness", in an absolute sense, have its way with you. But you must realize that YOU are not an empty vessel. You are not a passive rider on this train to tomorrow. You are TRUTH, you are MIND, you are CONSCIOUSNESS. But you must self observe in order that you can "know" the difference between your "i am" and your "I AM". But once you can think straight, think clearly, think lucidly, you can take an active role in your life, in your world as ONENESS. You must let "Mind have its way with you and proceed". ~ Derek Lamar

Truth doesn't always come from sanity...

Woody Allen Quotes

Eternal nothingness is fine if you happen to be dressed for it. I do not believe in an afterlife, although I am bringing a change of underwear. Death is one of the few things that can be done as easily lying down. It's not that I'm afraid to die. I just don't want to be there when it happens I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to acheive it through not dying. The difference between sex and death is that with death you can do it alone and no one is going to make fun of you. Don't knock masturbation -- it's sex with someone I love.
...but it will get you there

Thinking is the best way to travel...

I would believe only in a god who could dance. And when I saw my devil I found him serious, thorough, profound, and solemn: it was the spirit of gravity-- through him all things fall. ~ Friederich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra

How hateful to me are the enemies of your Scripture! How I wish that you would slay them with your two-edged sword, so that there should be no one to oppose your word! ~ St. Augustine (Confessions) (Ed. An example of terrorism of the mind)

First, in Islamic philosophy it is a moral duty and a moral virtue to kill "infidels"-those who do not accept Islam. The Koran is replete with such commandments as: "fight and slay the Pagans wherever you find them . . . those who reject our signs we shall soon cast into the fire . . . those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads . . . as to the deviators, they are the fuel of hell." This is not to say all Muslims agree with this idea, but the terrorists take these teachings of the Koran seriously and literally. In his "Declaration of War against the Americans," Osama bin Laden repeatedly cites religious texts in addition to the Koran to justify his holy war. He especially favors martyrdom and boasts that Islamic youths "love death as you [the Americans] love life." The highest level of paradise, he claims, is reserved for those who die in battle. The young terrorists, he says, "have no intention except to enter paradise by killing you." Islam may oppose suicide, but it glorifies dying in battle, which is how the terrorists view their acts. Second, Islam, unlike Christianity (since the Renaissance and Thomas Aquinas), has no respect for reason as a means of gaining knowledge or guiding actions. Islam advocates total domination of every sphere of life by religion, including the legal system, politics, economics, and family life. The individual is not supposed to think independently but to selflessly subordinate himself to religious dogma. The word "Islam" means literally: submission. The Koran states that knowledge comes from revelation, not thinking. The ideal Islamic society is a theocracy (religious dictatorship) run primarily by clerics. We have seen this before in the West-it was called the Dark Ages. ~ Edwin A. Locke (The Ayn Rand Institute)

Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth, more than ruin, more even than death.... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man. ~ Bertrand Russell We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. ~ Oscar Wilde

If one person was not attempting to gain power over another person, none of these issues would become fodder for the fire which burns in the hearts of those who, ultimately, will not look at themselves and their own divinity, but rather continue the consciousness of duality. Without duality we would experience the Oneness which is reality. The only true infidel is one who refuses to see others as their own reflection. And for those people ignorance is their own punishment. ~ Derek Lamar, A.R.T. Absolute Research Technology

Half Truths is the knowing

In this Yoga one is supposed to go beyond every mental idealistic culture. Ideas and Ideals belong to the mind and are half-truths only; the mind too is, more often than not, satisfied with merely having an ideal, with the pleasure of idealising while life remains always the same, untransformed or changed only a little and mostly in appearance. The spiritual seeker does not turn aside from the pursuit of realisation to mere idealising; not to idealise, but to realise the Divine Truth is always his aim, either beyond or in life also -- and in the latter case it is necessary to transform mind and life which cannot be done without surrender to the action of the Divine Force, the Mother. ~ Sri Aurobindo

Personal goals are important disciplines on the path of self discovery and they are necessary but nothing takes the place of getting to the point where you can let Truth have its way with you. To surrender the self to the SELF and to anticipate this exhiliarting experience as an ongoing opportunity of a lifetime. ~ Derek Lamar

Discover your Self

Through self knowledge you begin to find out what is God, what is truth, what is that state which is timeless. Your teacher may pass on to you the knowledge which he received from his teacher, and you may do well in your examinations, get a degree and all the rest of it; but, without knowing yourself as you know your own face in the mirror, all other knowledge has very little meaning. Learned people who don't know themselves are really unintelligent; they don't know what thinking is, what life is. That is why it is important for the educator to be educated in the true sense of the word, which means that he must know the workings of his own mind and heart, see himself exactly as he is in the mirror of relationship. Self-knowledge is the beginning of wisdom. In self-knowledge is the whole universe; it embraces all the struggles of humanity. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
...that you might discover your world.

One is the only number...

Oneness is more than simply things working together. It is the understanding that ultimately there is One Mind which expresses its Beingness as Infinite Variety and thus not only do things fit together like jig-saw puzzle pieces, and not only is One Mind expressing and governing all that is, but all that is IS this ONE MIND. Eventually you must come to the realization that not only are you also part of that ONE MIND but being that you are consciousness, you also are that one and very same MIND. Not part of that MIND because in ONENESS there are no parts, but ONE with that MIND. Simply because we believe that we are separate from everything around us does not make it so. Once you gain some spiritual insight into the mystical realization that all is ONE you will begin to see the "pieces" fall into place. ~ Derek Lamar
...that you'll ever do.

It is the Divine mathematician

Within man is the soul of the whole;the wise silence; the universal beauty; to which every part and every particle is equally related; the eternal One. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

God is not found in the soul by adding anything, but by a process of subtraction. ~ Meister Eckhart

And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make. ~ Lennon & McCartney

It is all mathematics. Once the balance of Reality is understood to be dependent upon the Truth that it is Infinite, then Infinity itself becomes a power of realization and creation. Thus Truth is infinite, reality is infinite, the I AM is infinite, YOU are infinite and all is infinite and ALL is ONE. ~ Derek Lamar

Where there is no vision...

If we had attained the full vision of Truth, we would no longer be mere seekers, we would have become one with God, for Truth is God. But being only seekers we prosecute our quest and are conscious of our imperfection. ~ Mohandas K. Gandhi

And Truth being what it is must ultimately be understood by us all to be the reality about ourselves which we seek. Even beginning this quest we have crossed over millennia of ignorance and separateness as we enter into the arena of discovery of Oneness. And in that Oneness we discovery love. In discovering love, oneness or God the ultimate conclusion is that we have discovered our Self. And conversely to discover our Self we will have discovered God. Ever onward on our journey of attaining the full vision of Truth. ~ Derek Lamar

...even the busiest of days
Withdraw into yourself and look. And if you do not find yourself as beautiful as yet, do as the sculptor do not cease chiseling your sculpture until there shines out on you the godlike splendor of virtue. ~ Plotinus

Be it the rippling in the pond with the reflection which runs askew, or the fleeting shadows darting about in the light would it be you, or is the blurr of what you were as you fly about the day, learn to be still and discover your will and you will discover you may, have it in you to realize that movement is fashion but in your eyes, what you see is not your soul, until you are still and discover you're whole. ~ Rama L. Kered

Palm trees rustle in the tropic breeze as mana delivers the kiss of the gods in the sunlight, in the sunset vision, in the gentle rain in the middle of the day, waterfalls cleanse the soul of the most jaded passerby as the fresh air paints divinity inside with only one deep breath. ~ Richard Kula

Again another day is almost over, do you know where your real self is? ~ Reklama Osram

...a whole
"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us 'Universe,' a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." ~ Albert Einstein

...you can run away
In the day to day life one lives everything is working to bring oneself to a recognition of who they really are. This is called Cosmic Intention. This process is sure but it is slow. Time is relative but for those on the Path they know the difference between the lower path and the Higher Path. To accelerate one's learning is to become conscious of the changes necessary to achieve self realization. On this path you become One with all that is and you are Consciousness Conscious of Consciousness. Your life becomes the ongoing expression of Beingness rather than the occasional gestalt one discovers as they haphazardly run into the mirrors of their tedious sleep-state life. All is Mind Unfolding but you have the option to choose the velocity at which you race toward realization. ~ Derek Lamar

In the death of the self, lies the life of the heart ~ Imam Ja´far al Sadiq

Some look upon the Self as marvellous. Others speak of It as wonderful. Others again hear of It as a wonder. And still others, though hearing, do not understand It at all. ~ Bhagavad Gita 2:29

The fact is that because no one thing or feature of this universe is separable from the whole, the only real You, or Self, is the whole. ~ Alan Watts

Sunday, December 8th

...it is not the end of the world
The Sufis feel that maturity cannot be achieved alone. They feel there is a need for guidance and discipline. The path is unknown, the night is dark and the road is full of danger. Dangers include preoccupation with selfishness, false visions, misinterpretations of mystical states, arrest in development, fixation in a particular state, appeal to various drugs to create false mystical experiences and not infrequently overwhelming anxiety and insanity. ~ Mohammed Shafii

The Path is romanticized as being a lonely journey through a wilderness alone with one's God. However, few could ever find this God by themselves because the God most know does not reside where everyone believes. The true God is a clever devil for sure and very elusive. Bothered by so many requests he chose to hide himself in the one place few would ever look... within. ~ Derek Lamar

...Pearl Harbor was attacked
I need hardly say much to you about the importance of authority. Only a very few civilized persons are capable of existing without reliance on others or are even capable of coming to an independent opinion. You cannot exaggerate the intensity of man's inner irresolution and craving for authority. ~ Sigmund Freud

The "I", be it the little self or a Higher Self, seeks to be in authority, seeks also to put others in authority, to give up responsibility, and again there must be a wrestling to regain a sense of self as the SELF to reveal Ultimate Authority. Eventually one must understand that Truth, as Principle, is operating within one's life and give authority over to that, but also to understand that that THAT... is their very own TRUE IDENTITY. ~ Derek Lamar, PSI-analyst
...which can be seen as an island of paradise under siege

...the contact with outer space
The mysterious government facility of "Area 51" doesn't come close to suppressing the many spectacular mysteries that the human mind appears to conceal from us. Getting photographs and top security information out of "Area 51" is also easier, it seems, than retrieving data from the consciousness which operates en masse around the globe. The study of the mind, specifically MIND itself, is one the most important adventures of the 21st century. All of mankind's pioneering up to this point has been to use the mind to travel in some manner or other into the realm of physicality, but now, we are discovering that truly the final frontier which must be greeted is within the recesses of Consciousness. The more "Work" we engage in in this area, the better we can understand the nature of Life itself and the discovery of the formula to Consciousness and what actually is operating in the Universe that we call life, reality, God. Each of us is a doorway into this most secret of places and sadly so few have had the courage to actually travel here. It continues to be a mystery which is spoken of in books and related as a mystical experience. But the mystery is ongoing and it is only mysterious because we do not venture where we operate. Never has something so vital to one's survival existed without exploration like that of the mind. But now, in the 20th century, there are many groups of investigators coming forth who are not just interested in Consciousness but appear to come with "baggage" which allows them to unlock this realm of the mystic like never before. We are on the threshold of a dream. Your passport is merely the desire to know the SELF. To become an astral-naut. ~ Derek Lamar, director: A.R.T. Absolute Research Technology

...even simple problems often require supernatural answers
If a man could understand all the horror of the lives of ordinary people who are turning round in a circle of insignificant interests and insignificant aims, if he could understand what they are losing, he would understand that there can only be one thing that is serious for him -- to escape from the general law, to be free. What can be serious for a man in prison who is condemned to death? Only one thing: How to save himself, how to escape: nothing else is serious. ~ G.I. Gurdjieff

If a person could realize all of the self destructive behavior of their everyday life made up of a lot of busy but meaningless activity, if they could realize what their life could really be like, then they would understand that only one thing is important -- to break loose from these patterns and be free. What could be more serious for someone in prison who is on death row than to save himself, nothing else matters. ~ Derek Lamar, Fourth Way Master (Fourth Way Today)

...mysticism is the path toward what is beyond
5D (Fifth Dimension)

Oh how is it that I could come out to here and be still floating

and never hit bottom and keep falling through

just relaxed and paying attention.

All my two dimensional boundaries were gone

I had lost to them badly.

I saw that world crumble and thought I was dead

but I found my senses still working.

And as I continued to drop through the hole

I found all surrounding

to show me that joy innocently is

just be quiet and feel it around you.

And I opened my heart to the whole universe

and I found it was loving

And I saw the great blunder my teachers had made

scientific delirium madness.

I will keep falling and as long as I live

or without ending, and I will remember the place that is now

that has ended before the beginning

Oh how is it that I should come out to here and be still floating

and never hit bottom but keep falling through just relaxed and paying attention.

...if you look back
"Many people write and say: 'But you have arrived at a point of light and you must not desecrate this light.' 'The hell you say! If taking this message and putting it in terms that businessmen, and shop girls, office clerks, railroad engineers, whores and convicts understand is desecrating it, then I will take it out and walk all over it... and do a good job too! And those of my friends who do not want to go with me can go take their seats with the scribes and Pharisees... and how have you been lately?" "I have written all of this because of the great spiritual revival that is coming and I am ready to go with it. I am going to go all the way because that is my place and my duty. I thought I would tell you so you would know where I had gone, if someday you looked at the particular little nitch you have given me and you find I am not there."
"Do not misunderstand me and think that I regret passing into this more impersonal way of living, for I have already tasted its freedom and I know that it is that which I have sought for many years. I must go on into the impersonal life. It calls me and I must lay down the bondage of limitation. To stay here is to freeze, to crystallize, to become static."
"My flaming spirit must be given to the flame, all else is consumed. Knowing this I still find that my ongoing is not the casting off of a garment, but that it is a skin that I am tearing with my own hands. The impersonal is upon me. Ready am I to come in with eagerness waiting for the spirit to catch my wings and lift me along."

...change is necessary
I often hear people say that we need to change our thinking. And this is so true. But what does that mean to most people? I get the impression that it is like waking up one day and deciding that war is bad and that peace is good and if we decide that talking is important and military activities are bad then we have changed our thinking. But that isn't the kind of thinking we need to change. What we need to change is what "reality" we base our thinking on. If we understand that Oneness is the innate nature of Reality and that all is in harmony in Reality and that there is no conflict going on then we have gotten somewhere. But if we are simply going to pretend that what everyone else perceives is reality and we simply are going to oppose other people's actions then we have done nothing to change our thinking. War is the outward expression of all of mankind's unresolved hostilities which he is not dealing with. Now if we could get humans to understand that everything was a reflection of our own state of consciousness and that rather than acting out "against" others but recognizing that "there are no others" and that what we perceive is our own awareness of it, then we have begun to change. You can only have war with those people you believe to be outside yourself, people who are separate from what you call your own personal reality. ~ Derek Lamar, Teacher

...life is so simple to the elite mind
"An inflated consciousness is always egocentric and conscious of nothing but its own existence. It is incapable of learning from the past, incapable of understanding contemporary events, and incapable of drawing right conclusions about the future. It is hypnotized by itself, and therefore cannot be argued with. It inevitably dooms itself to calamities that must strike it dead. Paradoxically enough, inflation is regression of consciousness into unconsciousness. This always happens when consciousness takes too many unconscious contents upon itself and loses the faculty of discrimination, the sine qua non of all consciousness. When fate, for four whole years, played out a war of monumental frightfulness on the stage of Europe--a war that nobody wanted, nobody dreamed of asking exactly who or what had caused the war and its continuation. Nobody realized that European man was possessed by something that robbed him of all free will. And this state of unconscious possession will continue, undeterred, until we Europeans become scared of our "god-almightyness." Such a change can begin only with individuals....It seems to me of some importance, therefore, that a few individuals, or people individually, should begin to understand that there are contents which do not belong to the ego-personality, but must be ascribed to a psychic non-ego. This mental operation has to be undertaken if we want to avoid a threatening inflation. To help us, we have the useful and edifying models held up to us by poets and philosophers--models or archetypi that we may call remedies for both the men and the times. Of course, what we discover there is nothing that can be held up to the masses--only some hidden thing that we can hold up to ourselves in solitude and in silence. But it is so much easier to preach the universal panacea to everybody else than to take it oneself, and as we all know, things are never so bad when everybody is in the same boat. No doubts can exist in the herd; the bigger the crowd the better the truth--and the greater the catastrophe." Carl Jung, Psychology and Alchemy.
...which condemns the ego yet is helpless to its control

The human ego is nothing more than the illusion of the self. It is the beginnings of the awakening of the self to the GOD of I AM. This awakening begins by believing that it is a god and acts out in a god-like fashion even though it pretends that it does not. This self may even pretend to worship a God outside of itself. But this only furthers the illusion that one can be good by playing off good ideas. One cannot be good. One can only be ONE with ALL that is. In this sense one does not play God, but rather One is God. The individuated self can never be God because this role is an illusion. But still, we can view it as the beginning of the awakening to the Soul. The first glimpse at the self as being important in and of itself. ~ Derek Lamar, Fourth Way Master
