Quote of the Day

Wednesday, March 31, 2004

When you begin to "make yourself as God" -- which is what Jesus did, and could not escape doing if he worked from the premise, "In the beginning God" -- then you shall begin to "feel" your way with the new senses, then shall you understand how the deaf shall hear. "Then shall the deaf hear" -- at the instant of recognition of the Divine capacity of hearing the limitations of the human ear fall away and man hears, and hears things that the human ear is incapable of ever knowing. "Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard... the things that are prepared." They are already prepared for you when you can hear with the hearing that so completely transcends the human limitations that it breaks through the gates of Heaven and comes to the throne of the Presence. The changing sense of hearing and sight can only be attributable to the human limitations, since it is impossible to conceive of God with impaired vision or hearing, and the changeless Power is not subject to degrees of sound or distances. The reason hearing and sight change in the human sense is because they are limited to the human organism and can be easily deceived. ~ Walter C. Lanyon (The Temple Not Made With Hands, 1958)

I AM God... besides Me there is nothing else

Again and again we have been assured that if we would just "know the Truth," we would be made free. But, how can we know anything, unless we perceive the nature of that which we are knowing? When we know anything, really know it, that knowledge is forever present in, or as, our very Consciousness, our Mind. Thus we discover that we actually include and are that which we know. In other words, it is impossible to know fully the Truth until we become aware that uth we are knowing. ~ Marie Watts (The Ultimate: Your Self Revealed, 1957).

The Truth is... all there is.

Convince a man against his will and he'll be of the same opinion still. ~ old adage
If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. ~ William Blake
There ain't no guru who can see through your eyes. ~ John Lennon
A Teacher cannot change someone else's consciousness, they cannot see through your eyes, and must not force one to change their opinion, but as one realizes that they are ONE MIND all sorts of miracles of the Mind might occur. It is here in Oneness where metanoia, change, transformation will change. Otherwise there would be little accounting for the unfoldment of mankind to ever become receptive to the Light. ~ Derek Lamar

One mind cannot change another... for there is no other

To "know the truth," which Jesus spoke of, naturally meanings knowing something utterly different from what everybody else believes to be true. Everybody believes that he "knows the truth" about his own experience, but if a person is not free from trouble, lack, sickness or unhappiness, he does not know the truth, no matter how "true" his knowledge may seem to be. Human notions and opinions, believed to be gospel truth, are constantly changing. Truth, however, never changes. Truth cannot be altered to agree with human beliefs. It is human belief that must change to agree with truth. The truth upon which all reason and intelligence are founded is the Divine Truth that all creation consists of spiritual ideas. ~ Carl O. Johnson (The New Birth, 1936 - The Ontology Foundation)

Truth is that which is so - I AM is so - Infinity nourishes Reality

A curious paradox characteristic of every kind of courage here confronts us. It is the seeming contradiction that we must be fully committed, but we must also be aware at the same time that we might possibly be wrong. This dialectic relationship between conviction and doubt is characteristic of the highest type of courage, and gives the lie to the simplistic definitions that identify courage with mere growth. People who claim to be absolutely convinced that their stand is the only right one are dangerous. Such conviction is the essence not only of dogmatism, but of its more destructive cousin, fanaticism. It blocks off the user from learning new truth, and it is a dead giveaway of unconscious doubt. The person then has to double his or her protests in order to quiet not only the opposition but his or her own unconscious doubts as well. ~ Rollo May (The Courage To Create, 1975)

I am Infinite Variety unfolding Myself Infinitely to Myself

No one need feel that he is too deeply mired in sin, or in trouble of any kind, to be worthy of the ever-ready help and the ever-lasting Love of God. He need only be willing to receive the Truth about his own Being, and then leave all to conform to it, that he may become "a new creature in Christ Jesus." To "put off the old man with his deeds," as Paul says, is part of the necessary price demanded of each aspiring soul entering the path of Glory. Man's troubles have come to him only because he has served the wrong master, -- the mind of the world, or because he is trying to serve two at the same time, trying to give a hand to each, though they are going in opposite directions, -- one, the "wisdom of this world," and the other, "the Mind which was in Christ Jesus." ~ Lillian DeWaters (The Price of Glory, 1936)

One can never be too deep in personal problems or depression or trouble too difficult to deal with, to qualify for the help which can bring complete change from a Loving Universe which operates perfectly. You must simply be willing to accept the Truth about your SELF and let go of the resistance which blocks this resolution so that you will experience the metanoia which will transform you into the New Person which is of a Higher Consciousness. You must let go of the "human thinking" which is based on duality and focus on the Reality of Oneness which requires the maintaining of a single mindedness of soul and purpose. This path is one which is above the seeming principles of the world but one which is Spiritual and without the problems which one attracts by basing their consciousness on finiteness rather than the perfect INFINITY which is the natural state of the Universe. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar

I am the Oneness which is Infinite, whole, complete and perfect

Mind is the matter-power that moulds and makes, and Man is Mind, and evermore he takes, the tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills, brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: he thinks in secret, and it comes to pass: environment is but his looking-glass. ~ James Allen (As A Man Thinketh)

I am the feeling and I am the thought, I am the seller of that which I bought

The most beautiful and most profound experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. To know that which is impenetratable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in the primitive forms-this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness." ~ Albert Einstein

A human being is a part of the whole, called by us "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical
delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security. ~ Albert Einstein

God does not play dice with the Universe. ~ Albert Einstein

I AM Mathematics, I AM Infinity, I AM 2 + 2 = 4, I AM Principle

But as I grew up, I realized that music is much more than just a job or a tool. It's a form of psychotherapy. It's a form of meditation. I use music whenever I have a problem, I go in and play, and it's like talking to someone. It's a higher source. And the music that's sent to me helps me get though a lot of pain. ~ John "Rabbit" Bundrick

I AM Music, I AM Harmony, I AM the Mathematics of Oneness

Those who are drawn to this Teaching are motivated by their own desire and the desire of MIND to have itself be known. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar

Solving a problem here and there is pretty easy in one way. But the important thing for one to understand is that rather than solving a problem which is a symptom of a given state of mind, you really want to change that state of mind by discovering who you really are and allow that mind to flow unblocked so that the problem you want to solve and others simply do not reoccur again and again and again. ~ Derek Lamar, PSI-chologist

A change in the machine is a change in forever

Life seems as though it brings to us everything which we need as if some anthropomorphic God is providing the Universe collectively as well as individually a lesson which will bring about changes in consciousness for the betterment of the Whole, but actually it is a very complex mathematical system which measures thoughts and feelings, time and space, out and back, male and female, above and below and blends it into the perfect mirror which has no intention other than to reflect that which it perceives. It is we who project our concepts of teaching onto that process and turn it into a religious dogma which is staying up late in the Universe simply for our own personal amusement and to its own benevolence. ~ Derek Lamar, Metaphysicist

A reflection is the mirroring of the opposites to complement the whole

I believe in the absolute oneness of God and therefore also of humanity. What though we have many bodies? We have but one soul. The rays of the sun are many through refraction. But they have the same source. ~ Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869-1948)

All is One and one is All

Truth can have no cause, since it has no beginning; therefore truth is also not an effect; and as there is not anything besides what is, it must be that there is no such thing as cause and effect at all. There is, therefore, no reality in the law of cause and effect. Eternity is all, and there is no creation at all. There is nothing besides the truth to hinder, bind, oppose it -- no limits, no bounds, no laws, nothing against the truth; wherefore we say that the truth means freedom; and since the truth is all, there is no bondage at all. If bondage were truth it would be permanent and unescapable; consequently if bondage were truth it would be unreasonable to teach freedom. The truth sets us free because in reality we are free now. If we were really bound the knowledge of the truth would establish us in our bonds; but the illumined have ever announced that to know the truth means to be free, for in actuality we are eternally and unchangeably free now. ~ George Edwin Burnell (Axioms: The Book of Health and Science of Truth, 1897)
Think over honestly those friendships of yours. Your own way is generally right. Let none other influence you. Keep this life text: "I will walk in Thy Truth." ~ Emma Curtis Hopkins (Drops of God, 1891)

Everything speaks in the language of Truth... listen closely

God is the unchallenged self. God is all of all. There simply is naught (nothing else) but God, the Infinite ONE. God is the sole individual. God is the alone I. God-I is this I right here. God-I is that I right there. God-I is the only I everywhere, now. ~ Alfred Aiken (The Unchallenged Self, 1954)
None can behold Absolute Truth (and there can be no other Truth!) and continue in a sense of lack, regardless of the particular type or form it may assume. Every sense of lack, as already pointed out, stems entirely from ignorance, confusion, mystification; an unawareness of Omnipresent Truth, Reality, Life, I-Amness. ~ Alfred Aiken (Supply, 1957)
ONE MIND BEING, I-AM, leaves naught (nothing else) to tolerate, experience, express, fear or desire. ONE MIND THaT IS I, includes EVERY IDEA-THING-BODY-ITEM IN EXISTENCE, and thus each such idea-thing-body is forever now safe, untouched, untouchable. This is LOVE indeed, for naught (nothing else) is left out, nor cn any error ever enter Omnipresence. ~ Alfred Aiken (Bachelor God, 1962)

I AM Omnipresence knowing my SELF completely

Truth is that which is and that which is represents what all seekers go for in terms of discovering Reality. But in order to discover Reality you must know what it is otherwise how would one recognize it. It is a rather Catch-22 situation. Like they used to say about joining SAG (Screen Actors Guild): "You had to be in a film to be accepted by the union and you had to be in the union in order to get a part in a film." So you must be able to recognize Reality in order to find it and yet you must find it in order to recognize it. But there is some mystical Truth here the seeker must realize as he or she begins this journey. Your adventure is to find, to discover, to reveal... that which you already know, that which you already have seen, that which... is YOU. But rather than defining Truth by what you think you are, you must begin to define yourself as you discover Truth to be. Man was created in the image and likeness of God, God was not created in the image and likeness of Man. Truth is that which IS and its definition is that which is SO. This so-ness... this beingness... this is-ness... which is SO represents Reality. That which is so is Truth and that is what is. That which is not truth is not so therefore it is not. We discover that we are torn between two realities. One which is so and one... which is not so. The conclusion we can only come to is: therefore, truth is all there is. Suddenly we have chosen one reality out of a possibility of two which we discover really only one is actually possible. Duality disappears and Oneness, singularity becomes the Universe of what we have been searching for. This Oneness is also the only reality which can mirror who we are as well. We are ONENESS. We are ALLNESS... because Truth is "all" there is. Knowing this ALLNESS... we (I AM) are Infinite. We are infinite, we are mind, therefore we (I AM) Infinite Mind. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar

I AM Infinite Mind expressing the One Reality there is

There is nothing in life you need fear. You will become sure that you are safe at all times and in every place. This realisation will reveal to you how much you have understood of the truth of being. Nothing can affect your real individuality.
Give more time to quiet, that you may have the reflection of God upon the mirror of your imagination, that you too may become God's idea, for He has said: "Be ye holy." The growth of this perfect idea has become manifest to us. As you wait upon God a great underwork is going on, and afterwards it beareth fruit. Close the door of your closet against the suggestion of the senses, that God's Idea may manifest in your body, for "if thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light." A full stream of rich life pulsates through the heart which is at one with God. This is the healing touch, no longer is the vital stream of the universe separate, it delights to pour itself out through its own God-given channels. ~ Christ In You, 1910
Be secure in knowing the security of Reality. You are safe in every place for you are in every place. The truth of being, of knowing one's I AM Identity is the understanding of the Beingness which relieves one of any imagined problems. The Truth of your Oneness can never be changed. You are the same yesterday, today and forever. Be still and know your I AM and face God in the reflection of your own Being. You are God's idea because you are the Mind of God and all that you are is Holy. This knowingness shall continue to unfold the perfection you are. You are on a Path of realizing the unfoldment of the Divine Authority you are as the I AM. This knowingness is an undivided vision upon which there is nothing else. The light of Truth beats in the Oneness of realizing the Self of the I AM. There is only perfect health and Oneness of Mind as it pours out throughout the Universe knowing that the One Mind is whole, complete and perfect. ~ Derek Lamar

I AM Mind, whole, complete and perfect

Surely one can understand the fear... you must empathize with it.
It is probably one of the biggest links to our phylogenetic history whose threshold we are crossing. Frankly I think, knowing some who have been called bisexual, in their life, they have probably run into prejudice from gay people who were threatened by them because they were able to love a man as well as a woman. It is much the same. This crossing over into this arena of touching the hem of androgyny shakes the identity of man to the core.
I find it personally aberrant... the reaction... on a personal human level... but as a Teacher... I can see that people are fearing that they are losing another part of themselves that they have known for so long and have become addicted to it... it is a deep pattern which soothes their being because for most of humanity the only God they know is in deep, sometimes even abusive sexuality.... and then the release... from their own brutality.
"Normal" is what they find comfort in... even when normal is disgusting behavior between men and women... they laugh and cry about it, make up songs about it, run from it and hide and then sneak out to find it just one more time.
I try and explain to people that homosexuality IS normal... that it is normal for 4% to 10% of the population to BE homosexual. That seems to go over their heads. Of course I know everyone is androgynous... but that is a hard one to break to strangers on the street. Like the Sly Stone song: "I was lookin' back to see if you were lookin' back to see if I was lookin' back to see you."
Remember in the 60's when women were burning their bras, refusing to wear make-up, cutting their hair short, wearing tom boy clothes... then as the equality of women came back into vogue they all ran back and started wearing garter belts and lots of make-up and changing the color of their hair.... now they were equal and FREE.... LIBERATED.... to be SLUTS.... then tattoos and body piercing.... everything nailing our bodies to the cross of materiality... in touch with our primitive nature crying out in the jungle of change.... one last time.
I have no disagreement with anyone finding love with another person. This is the beginning of discovering oneself. You don't have to have a partner but often it is a learning experience which cannot be compared to any other. With a little training it can even be enlightening. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar

I AM a Man, I AM a Woman, I AM Androgynous... I AM GOD

Only Truth is True, and whatever is not Truth, is not true, hence (therefore) has no reality at all. ...a lie is utter nonsense, false throughout, nothingness. ...right here infinitely, is all there is. ... I AM that Truth is. ~ Alfred Aiken (Monthly Letters, Vol. VII & VIII)

I AM that I AM, Truth, All there is

In Judaism, we are encouraged to enjoy the world as long as we are aware that it is God Himself. But there are limits, and the Ten Commandments, which God gave Moses on Mount Sinai, express this. The Ten Commandments are a precious jewel of the Judeo-Christian heritage, helping us know what to do and what not to do in order to cherish God throughout our daily life. All precepts and commandments are about love and understanding. Jesus gave His disciples the commandment to love God with all their being and to love their neighbors as themselves. In First Corinthians, it says, "Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not envious, arrogant, or rude. It does not rejoice in wrong. It does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice in wroing-doing, but rejoices in the truth." This is very close to the teachings of love and compassion in Buddhism. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh (Living Buddha, Living Christ)
To love someone is to realize the Oneness that is God in you and in all things. ~ Derek Lamar

In the Light we hear a voice, it says: I AM Love

There is nothing that happens to you which appears as negative which does not also have its counterpart in a positive expression as your unfoldment continues. Everything you experience paints the road in the way in which you need to perceive reality at that time in order that you achieve your realization. When this happens, everything which has happened to you is connected to your path and has worked to unfold your enlightenment to you. ~ Derek Lamar

I unfold, I AM

I AM not your human mind, nor its child, the intellect. They are but the expression of your Being, as you are the expression of My Being: they are but phases of your human personality, as You are a phase of My Divine Impersonality. Weigh and study carefully these words. Rise up and free yourself now and for always from the domination of your personality, with its self-inflated and self-glorifying mind and intellect. For your mind henceforth must be Your servant, and the intellect Your slave, if My Word is to penetrate to your Soul consciousness. I AM come now to your Soul consciousness which I have quickened expressly in preparation for the reception of My Word. ~ Joseph S. Benner (The Impersonal Life)

I AM the result of my own Being

For one to begin to do "Work" on oneself, one must be honest. They must be willing to look at the uncomfortable and be willing to expose the tender, fragile aspects of themselves which make them feel the worst. But they must do this knowing that this knowledge of themselves is false and that their true identity, which they seek, is way beyond these trivial roles we play to ourselves and to others while we continue to deny the Divinity which is our SELF. ~ Derek Lamar, Fourth Way Teacher

Wake up from the dream and rise up out of the darkness

It is astounding that man, the instigator, inventor and vehicle of all these developments, the originator of all judgments and decisions and the planner of the future, must make himself such a quantité négligeable. The contradiction, the paradoxical evaluation of humanity by man himself, is in truth a matter for wonder, and one can only explain it as springing from an extraordinary uncertainty of judgment --- in other words, man is an enigma to himself. This is understandable, seeing that he lacks the means of comparison necessary for self-knowledge. He knows how to distinguish himself from the other animals in point of anatomy and physiology, but as a conscious, reflecting being, gifted with speech, he lacks all criteria for self-judgment. He is on this planet a unique phenomenon which he cannot compare with anything else. The possibility of comparison and hence of self-knowledge would arise only if he could establish relations with quasi-human mammals inhabiting other stars. ~ Carl G. Jung (The Undiscovered Self)

Who am I, what am I, where am I?

Man is from earth, Woman is from earth, deal with it!

Actualism is a teaching that enables the student to experience the evolutionary processes and purposes of man. It is a teaching formulated for the twentieth century Western mind. It teaches and enables one to experience the fact that man has divine potentials, and that it is the goal of evolutionary growth and development to actualize these potentials and objectify them in creative expression. Most importantly, it teaches a method, Agni Yoga, by which this may be experienced and validated by the individual. Agni means "fire," yoga means "union"; so the method is "union by fire." ~ Russell Paul Schofield (Actualism: The Actual Design of Man as a Cosmic Being) from the book: Maps of Consciousness by Ralph Metzner

Earth - Water - Air & Fire... All in all will take you higher

Earth = Conscious mind, Water = emotion: Subconscious mind, Air = Spirit, Fire = SupraConscious Mind

And the fog rolled in creating a mist which became a blanket covering all that appeared before us and as high as the top of the cliffs, but of course it was above our heads and we could see nothing, but we had faith that we could see nothing, so then nothing was what we did see. And as this nothing consumed us we soon found that there was nothing wrong with us because we were nothing. Suddenly as soon as we thought this we forgot it because there was nothing to remember and even that we forgot. The elixir of nothing filled our hearts which had nothing in them and our heads which also received naught and gave naught, for nothing soon consumed us all and hence nothing happened. One day we awoke wondering if there wasn't something more than nothing and we cried out in this fog that perhaps there was more than fog beyond the land within which we lived. We wanted something more. But how much more than nothing could something be. We decided that we wanted everything. But of nothing we would take no part for there was no part of nothing which might be construed as something, so be not afraid. There is nothing to fear and nothing to fear of nothing therefore think nothing of it. But of something, that was another story. And that story begins here however I have nothing to say... and I shall say nothing of nothing but of something I shall say: "Very well, this be the beginning and the beginning of everything though everything can have no beginning for it always was and always will be therefore there can be no end." ~ Derek Lamar

Think nothing of it

Meditation is the emptying of ourselves of all that hinders the Creative Force from rising along the natural channels of our physical bodies to be disseminated through the sensitive spiritual centers in our physical bodies... ...Meditation is prayer from within the inner self, and partakes not only of the inner physical man but of the soul aroused by the spirit from within. In prayer we speak to God, in meditation God speaks to us. ~ Association for Research and Enlightenment (A Search For God, Book I, 1942)

One cannot be filled if they are not emptied first

...More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of. Wherefore let thy voice rise like a fountain for me night and day. For what are men better than sheep or goats that nourish a blind life within the brain, if, knowing God, they lift not hands of prayer both for themselves and those who call them friends? For so the whole round earth is every way bound by gold chains about the feet of God. ~ Tennyson (Prayer: The Mightiest Force In The World by Frank C. Laubach. Thoughts For An Atomic Age)
Sail forth, steer for the deep waters only, reckless, O soul, exploring, I with thee and thou with me. For we are bound where mariner has not yet dared to go, and we will risk the ship, ourselves and all. O my brave soul! O farther, farther sail! O daring joy but safe! Are they not all the seas of God, O farther, farther, farther sail! ~ Walt Whitman (Passage To India)
I cry out in the night and tear at my soul. I pray to the empty sky which cries out for the sun. A million stars peek into my mind ever in search of truth yet continue to shine on their journey till the dawning of another day. I cry out louder in hopes some moment in time the Universe might listen but I fall tired to the endless echo of my own silence. Exhausted I beat my chest in anticipation of my own hell to forever block out the songs of angels. I rip away at my own sense of self until my prayer is answered: there is nothing left of me but the voice of God. ~ Derek Lamar

A good disposition, a smile, often opens the secret door; the Chinese say, "A man without a smiling face, must not open a shop." The success of a smile was brought out in a French moving-picture in which Chevalier took the lead, the picture was called, "With a Smile." One of the characters had become poor, dreary and almost a derelict; he said to Chevalier "What good has my honesty done me?" Chevalier replied, "Even honesty won't help you, without a smile:" so the man changes on the spot, cheers up, and becomes very successful. ~ Florence Scovel Shinn (The Secret Door To Success, 1941)

A smile attracts others to the happiness they desire for themselves

Freud's greatest discovery is that the great cause of much psychological illness is the fear of knowledge of oneself--of one's emotions, impules, memories, capacities, potentialities, of one's destiny. We have discovered that fear of knowledge of oneself is very often isomorphic with, and parallel with, fear of the outside world. That is, inner problems and outer problems tend to be deeply similar and to be related to each other. Therefore we speak simply of fear of knowledge in general, without discriminating too sharply fear-of-the-inner from fear-of-the-outer. ~ Abraham H. Maslow (Toward A Psychology Of Being)

To examine is to confront, to confront is to let go

Left Brain - Right Brain: The right brain and the left brain both have specialized functions not shared by the opposite half, although both halves have certain functions in common. Generally, the left brain is associated with what happens on the right side of the body while the right brain is associated with what happens on the left side of the body.
Left Brain: intellect, intellectual, rational, active, realistic, positive, rational, objective. Right Brain: intuition, sensuous, metaphoric, receptive, impulsive, mythic, intuitive, subjective.
