The Truth is often so unbelievable that what it is people need is to understand the relationship between the Truth and the appearances and how they operate together or against each other. Otherwise without this it is hard for people to change. This is because, for the most part, people need to see what it is that they believe in and hold it up to the Truth. Then they can let go of the illusion and allow the Truth to remain in its fixed position to operate within their lives. But until you grasp the illusion, until you get a hold of it, you cannot let it go. When you are holding it and realize that there is no reality to it you can watch it fade into the nothingness from whence it came. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
What you perceive externally as space and time are ultimately illusory, but they contain a core of truth. They are the two essential attributes of God, infinity and eternity, perceived as if they had an external existence outside you. Within you, both space and time have an inner equivalent that reveals their true nature, as well as your own. Whereas space is the still, infinitely deep realm of no-mind, the inner equivalent of time is presence, awareness of the eternal Now. Remember that there is no distinction between them. When space and time are realized within as the Unmanifested --- no-mind and presence --- external space and time continue to exist for you, but they become much less important. The world, too, continues to exist for you, but it will not bind you anymore. ~ Eckhart Tolle (The Power of NOW, 1999)
You can and should shape your own future. Because, if you don't, someone else surely will. ~ Joel Arthur Barker (coined the phrase "Paradigm Shifter")
Futurist Joel Arthur Barker goes on to say:
"Concentrate on problem avoidance and anticipation and less
on problem solving and Reaction. Theory is if you anticipate the
problem before it happens you won't have to react. This is seen
in insurance policies, pension funds. Good anticipation is the
product of good exploration. Know the landscape what is possible.
Five (5) components to strategic exploration:
Influence understanding: to understand what influences your perceptions
Divergent thinking: thinking skills to discover more than one answer.
Convergent thinking: thinking skills to focus integrated data and prioritized choices.
Mapping: draw pathways to get from present to future.
Imaging: to picture words or drawings or models of the future as found in exploration.
The most important element of anticipation is artistic."
Friendship is something hard to find. Real friendship that is. Only when love is alive do you really know what it feels like. To know someone who makes you smile, gets you to laugh, makes you wish you were there, gets under your skin and stays there for years. That's friendship. That's love. That's reality. That's God. That's Truth. That is what we seek in all of the things we hope will make our lives better and yet all we really need to do is open up to that love and fall into it. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Communication and honesty is so important. And honesty gives birth to communication, just as the refusal to communicate has at it roots some deception lurking within the subconscious which believes that through the practice of denial things can be accomplished which otherwise would be thwarted. This just isn't so. At the root of Reality is the Beingness of Eternity which we sometimes call God. Whatever our term for this Divine Quotient, the ongoingness of its expression is Infinite Communication. Absolute and Total Expression. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Hurt, pain, anger, mad, rebellion, fighting... it doesn't sound like the path of "waking up" but it can be. It just isn't where it should stay. But sometimes it is required that we fight back in order that we establish our own boundaries and identity and space and dignity and freedom. Ultimately we must recognize that we are all One and that the Truth is nothing can harm us, it is all mind unfolding and we must recognize the Truth as it is and not form conclusions based on a state of duality. When you know that you are MIND and that MIND is all there is, nothing can hurt you and there is no one to fight. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Religion is a candle inside a multicolored
lantern. Everyone looks through a particular color, but the candle
is always there.
~ Mohammed Naguib (b. 1901) Egyptian soldier and politician
The day will come when the light comes, not from a candle, but from within. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
There are lots of nazis in the world
some of them are left wing, some of them are right wing
some of them wear an arm band and some of them wear a smile
some of them kill you quickly and others will take awhile
but they all have one thing in common
so always keep this in mind
they got too much time to be evil
and never enough time to be kind ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
LOS ANGELES -- Simon Wiesenthal, the Holocaust survivor who helped track down numerous Nazi war criminals following World War II then spent the later decades of his life fighting anti-Semitism and prejudice against all people, died Tuesday. He was 96. Wiesenthal died in his sleep at his home in Vienna, Austria, according to Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. "I think he'll be remembered as the conscience of the Holocaust. In a way he became the permanent representative of the victims of the Holocaust, determined to bring the perpetrators of the greatest crime to justice," Hier told The Associated Press. - Ian Gregor, Associated Press Writer
Simon Wiesenthal lost 89 relatives in the Holocaust.
One does not know when and where they will receive critical information as to their journey, their path, their destiny. We are all on a trip which is unfolding information to us that will help us to better know ourselves. This process is one which will set us free from the bondage of duality. Duality is what divides us from the answers and solutions we need to experience harmony in our lives. The more time and work you devote to this the better able you will be to interpret and understand "messages" which are actually telling you something critical. A friend of mine is not getting good communication to him where he has worked for the last six years. His lease is soon up on his apartment. His reason for living where he does is only because of his job. Everything is telling him it might be time for him to move on. But he must do his work to know where that is. If one moves just where they want to it might not work out for them. But if one moves where they are being led it will always work out for them. Be awake. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Meditation is one of the best ways to learn about the moments of stillness, to recognize that we can achieve them and to consciously choose to avail ourselves of that stillness. Stillness always brings the "pause we need, the pause in the day's occupation", which Longfellow called "The Children's Hour." This is the period of the day when work, routine, cares and sorrows are put aside and the joys, fantasies and wonders of the childlike awareness are experienced. ~ Betty Cuff Parker, H.W., M. (Practical Meditation, 1977)
I can be still and miss Betty tremendously. She was my Mentor and Counselor. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
"As (Edward) Kimball put it, when confronted with sickness, do you have to heal a body? Certainly not, since the whole thing is mental, having nothing to do with matter as such. After all, what you are confronted with is a picture in mind. And whose mind? he asks. 'In the mind, so called, of the practitioner,' he answers. The very first step is for the practitioner to recognize that what he calls a patient is a mental picture, disease and all, which can only be met mentally. His work really has nothing to do with matter -- or with his patient, as far as that is concerned. He must first of all clear his own mentality. This is not only the first thing, but the last thing, for when he has done this he will find that this is all he has to do, all that he ever can do. Following this line of thought, in 1936 Bicknell Young said: 'Treat yourself; always start with yourself, and your patient is healed.' ~ Richard Booker (The Magic of Knowing, 1955)

Divine Spirit is light, just as light is in the flame. My spirit is full of God's light which is my sight. Vital, active sight is a function of my soul and is pouring forth into manifestation. "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." ~ Bessie Beihl (Blessed Are Your Eyes, 1941)
Consciousness is knowing, just as the being known is within Mind. My Being is full of the Knowing of Consciousness which is the vision of seeing my Self. Infinite Life, ongoing Perception is my own Self expressing itself out and back infinitely as the unfoldment of the Self I AM. Truth is knowing and in this Truth there are no lies at all for Truth is all there is. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Trust wholeheartedly in Yahweh, put no faith in your own perception; in every course you take, have him in mind: he will see that your paths are smooth. ~ Proverbs 3:5-6
Put your knowingness in "I AM THAT I AM, and do not accept what your senses tell you, despite the appearances you must maintain your sense of "I AM" and know that you are all there is and in doing so you will unfold that which is the moves you must make, the paths you must take. Being in the right place at the right time is also "being in the world but not of it." This means that you recognize that all that you perceive is consciousness and it is based on the appearances which construct it out of human thinking which is based on a state of duality. You must focus on the axioms of knowing that Truth is ALLNESS and that in Reality all is whole, complete and perfect despite the appearances which might dictate otherwise. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
This power of God operates you instead of you operating it. This does not make you an automaton (robot). It makes you a point of expression ... so wonderful ... of a power that nothing is impossible to it. This is not something secret you learned in a church. This is not some silly stuff that has come down to us from a crowd of people who have gotten together with the idea of making this a personal thing and stamping it with a man's name. This is revelation. ~ Walter Lanyon
War is opposing forces each attempting to gain control over the other by any means possible. War is the outward manifestation of all of the inner battles we do not resolve within our consciousness. For all of those people "out there" who seek to blame others for war, who seek to encourage continual disharmony and chaos in a political or sociological sense, they are also feeding the energy which is awry within consciousness and its outpicturing in the world. For all of those inner issues which are not being dealt with but rather outsiders are accused of things which irritate us or make us angry or make us feel helpless or that which hurts our egos, whatever the reasons, if we do not look at that as our mirror and instead lash out in an external fashion, this adds fuel to the fire of war. Pray for your enemies and pray for yourself. Find out why others "MAKE" you angry and resolve that within you. You are probably angry about something which happened a long, long, time ago. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
"I started to look about the room and could see through an open doorway to my left. There were beings walking back and forth. Only once in awhile would they glance in my direction. The being of humanoid appearance who was with me said his name was Dre-zan. I asked what his last name was and he chuckled and said it would probably be Carpolis because that was the city he was from on his home planet. I then realized that I wasn't speaking out loud but rather we were carrying on this conversation on a telepathic level. Then I began to think that I was hallucinating. How would I ever know when it was real and when it was my imagination. Suddenly he spoke out loud and said: "We were talking. You are not hallucinating." He continued and said: "Essentially one must realize that in Ultimate Reality there is only ONE MIND anyway and despite the fact that we believe in duality and think we are separate from each other, the truth is, we are all of the same Consciousness." I had heard of this theory before but it never occurred to me that it might actually be true. Now my whole world was turned upside down and I had to recollect my thoughts and begin to take account of what was of value to me in what I still believed. I felt that my world was collapsing and my identity would begin to change as well. ~ James Atherton (Among Us, 1950)

"When the shadowy figure approached me my impulse was to run. I turned to move and steadied myself for the kick-off grip of my boots to get the traction that I would need. But all of this was happening in my mind. My body wasn't complying with the commands my brain was sending to it. I was frozen in place and the only thing moving was a stream of paranoid thoughts busy connecting the dots of a worse case scenario. As the figure continued to move closer to me I began to make out humanoid features. I had images in my mind of one of those Close Encounter creatures, or "Grays" as they call them, but other than his clothing, he looked like anyone you would run into at a Downtown restaurant on a weekday. The main difference was rather than looking away he continued to focus on me. He put his hand on my arm as if to guide me and asked: "Would you like to sit down?" It was then I realized I was no longer outside along the wet highway but somewhere inside a room with a chair, a table, what looked like a computer of sorts and some cabinets and other utilitarian items. I stammered and replied: "Yes... yes... I'll sit here... thank you." A calm had started to settle in. In fact as soon as his hand touched my body it was almost a mental healing which took place and all of my anxiety dissipated. I began to realize that maybe there was more going on here than little green men from Mars attacking Earth with weapons of an advanced nature. ~ James Atherton (Among Us, 1950)

"I have realized that the past and
future are real illusions, that they exist in the present, which
is what there is and all there is."
-- Alan Watts
Reality is whole and complete therefore it cannot be incomplete and as yet unfulfilled. Therefore it is fulfilled NOW. Truth is infinite because Truth is all there is therefore Reality is infinite. If Reality is infinite then it is all one and the future must be now just as the past is now... the same yesterday, today and forever. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
"I do not know what I may appear
to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy
playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then
finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst
the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."
-- Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727), English mathematician, scientist
"As long as we separate this 'oneness'
into two, we won't achieve realization."
-- Bruce Lee (1940-73), Martial arts actor
"Separation is deception, individuality
is deception, ego is deception, desire is deception, unity is
real. All that ever was or is or will be is inside you and me
-- Albert Emerson Unaterra (1952-2002), American writer
" 'I've stopped thinking all of
the time of what happened yesterday. And stopped asking myself
what's going to happen tomorrow. What's happening today, this
minute, that's what I care about. I say: 'What are you doing at
this moment, Zorba?' ' I'm sleeping.' 'Well, sleep well.'
'What are you doing at this moment, Zorba?' ' I'm working.'
'Well, work well.' 'What are you doing at this moment, Zorba?'
' I'm kissing a woman.' 'Well, kiss her well, Zorba! And
forget all the rest while you're doing it; there's nothing else
on earth, only you and her!' "
-- Nikos Kazantzakis (1883 - 1957), Greek novelist
I've known people like that. Generally, they give little thought to anything. But I don't think they are enlightened. That is not what thinking in the "NOW" actually means. Don't be deceived by such nonsense. The Spiritual Now is a realm of Reality in the abstract where there is no space or time but also it is all space and time. In this realm the past, the present and the future are all one. And in the human realm of time, space and change, usually a path of self-discovery requires looking at one's past and making changes in their consciousness thus altering the future. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
"It is a puzzling thing. The truth knocks on the door and you say, "Go away, I'm looking for the truth," and so it goes away. Puzzling."~ Robert M. Pirsig
"If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things." ~ Rene Descartes
"Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold." ~ Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910), Russian writer, philosopher
"Truth has no special time of its own. Its hour is now -- always." ~ Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) "Peace if possible, truth at all costs." ~ Martin Luther (1483-1546), German theologian, reformation leader
"Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened." ~- Winston Churchill
