Q.M.I. Presents Derek Lamar's June 2006
Quote of the Day

June 30 ~ Friday 2006
The truth is that it is Friday. Makes me think of "Fish Friday" at McDonald's only I don't think they are on sale right now. I still like their fish sandwiches. Sometimes I put alfalfa sprouts on them. And I always ask for extra sauce. No, I know THEY don't have alfalfa sprouts at McDonald's. I have to bring them home to do that. Geeeeez. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Dance in the wind eating a fish sandwich (things to do)
June 29 ~ Thursday 2006
The answers are not in the information which will fill in an empty space on the shelf but in the questions which cause one to reflect on who they are and who they choose to be. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Dance in the wind knowing all troubles will blow away
June 28 ~ Wednesday 2006
Is not the universal intention right there in front of our eyes to see an incredible unfoldment of order, beauty, balance and perfection? Even if we do not understand what the intention might be in so-called human terms, simply perceiving the intention alone is a masterpiece of discovery. Sometimes personal illumination is simply being still long enough to accept that there is a wholeness beyond the illusion of chaos which we experience within our consciousness. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Perceiving Order is the realization that accidents are not in charge
June 27 ~ Tuesday 2006
How can anyone actually believe that the universe is some random conglomeration of disorder and chaos? There are cosmic laws, right? How do these operate and why? Water runs downhill. It always runs downhill unless you go into one those freak shows out in the desert and through illusion and optical tricks suddenly water appears to be going uphill or some earthquake causing the Mississippi River to flow backwards because of a thrust in geologic conditions. Why does it not run uphill one day and downhill the next? That would be random. Unless it was ever other day and then suddenly you would see order. There is INTENTION in reality and there is REALITY. Think about it. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
In order to raise your consciousness you have to think about it
June 26 ~ Monday 2006
Be it food for the moon or the life of a cloud, the Sword of Longiness or the famous Christian shroud, the vibuti of Sai Baba or the Golden City that shines, the King's Chamber in Cheops or King Solomon's mines, whether you seek to discover the arc of the covenant or King Arthur's search for the Holy Grail, or perhaps just the remnant of Cleopatra's sail, or do you seek to find the long lost fountain of youth, or the real assasin of Lincoln besides John Wilkes Booth, the mysteries are abundant but the Truth so often hides, eventually you'll find it but you find it deep inside. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
In order to rise you must go deep
June 25 ~ Sunday 2006
Life is not just what you believe it to be. Life has an infinite reality which we ignore in order to continue believing in the illusion that we do. Once we realize the Truth of existence and let go of the illusion we enter into a dimension of consciousness which has been referred to as the kingdom of heaven. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
What is, is... whether we know it or not
June 24 ~ Saturday 2006

Peace is the discovery of Oneness with God
June 23 ~ Friday 2006
Stand before God and in His name ask for what you want. It is by the Word that we live. And the Word is God's. And his Son said, "Ask". The psychological law is that the association of ideas determines and re-determines conditions in one's thought world, provided they relate with PRINCIPLE, with God's Laws. The metaphysical Christian Law is that the association of PRINCIPLE WITH THINGS determines the conditions of one's life, that all power of Realization and Actualization rests in that individual's consciousness which includes Divine Love. ~ W. Frederic Keeler (Solving The Problem of Supply, 1971)
Every desire is waiting to be revealed within
June 22 ~ Thursday 2006
Is the future to be good or bad? So many predictions and so little information to draw upon. The question is whether or not you are pleased with your own life and what happens to you on a daily basis and is it the platform from which you wish to attract a future into your life? What you believe will determine what future you have and what is in store for you. If you passively endure life then you will take that lack of caring as the substance of what your future will be. If you are working to raise your consciousness and making changes in your life in an ongoing process then your future will reflect that. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Every beginning is the ending of some misery
June 21 ~ Wednesday 2006
What is true in the abstract is what is true in the world, in your life. We simply do not see what is reality because we are not trained to perceive reality as it is and the spiritual implications of what the universe is as Consciousness, our Consciousness. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Every thought is an echo of who we are
June 20 ~ Tuesday 2006
There can never be an increase or decrease of Substance, God. However, Mind will forever continue conceiving new ideas, forms or patterns of Consciousness for Itself. If this were not so, Mind would be limited, have come to the end of Its activity, Its imaginations, hence would be measurable, bounded. ~ Alfred Aiken (That Which Is, 1955)
Every ending is a doorway to continuity
June 19 ~ Monday 2006
Write it down on paper, you're a technological savior, heard a rumor that the neighborhoods are going down the drain. Just give 'em a thesis, maybe, have you seen the test tube, baby? Tell us what is happening, lately, with your acid rain. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (song: Science: The New Religion)
Do not determine reality based on the reality you believe in
June 18 ~ Sunday 2006
It's not so easy for the mind to see, when you're unconscious to reality, you cannot create a democracy, when you're asleep to your divinity. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (song: The Invisible Government)
Happy Father's Day... give birth to a new world
June 17 ~ Saturday 2006
Knowing that there are spiritual things is a miracle for many people. Those who believe in nothing but solid matter and the physical world and the sciences which appear to govern it are living in a cold lost cavern of consciousness which says to them that they must never believe in anything beyond the realm they feel secure in because it is a realm they cannot control. Once you realize that there is nothing which exists which does so in any manner whatsoever other than within your mind you will begin to realize how powerful consciousness is. This does not mean you must believe in a lot of hocus pocus but rather simply be open to the world of consciousness and being and spirit and know that this is where reality is happening. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Enlightenment is discovering you are not a physical being
June 16 ~ Friday 2006
What is religion but the discipline of worshipping or honoring God as told to us by someone else who has risen to the role of leadership and either they tell us that they know or their followers tell us that they know? But is this not simply the rules and regulations set up by another human being for us to face our God as they themselves perceive it? They might say that what they say or what they present in a written form is authored by God or sanctioned by God but what does that prove and how is that any different then if you or I simply wrote up a spiritual manifesto and put our name to it but claim it came to us through God and therefore you must honor it because if you don't you will receive the wrath of God? Any thinking person would agree that this is not the answer from on high but rather, at best, an inspired moment that another individual might have experienced. And yet to find a path which one can unfold themselves to themselves through the guidance of one who has gone before is absolutely essential. Otherwise our subconscious and our ego will always gain control and take us one wild ride always convincing us that this was the right choice. But a path needs one who we trust that we are willing to listen to in order that we can actually observe ourselves in order that we might work to prevent this type of situation. Either way it is a thin line we must walk... even those who have walked it a long time. A spiritual path needs checks and balances built into the learning so that one can begin to prove to themselves what is true and what is false about themselves and their world. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Enlightenment is finding a path we are willing to walk but also one we believe to be true
June 15 ~ Thursday 2006
It's the movies that have really been running things in America ever since they were invented. They show you what to do, how to do it, when to do it, how to feel about it, and how to look how you feel about it. ~ Andy Warhol
Enlightenment is discovering everything you believed was a lie
June 14 ~ Wednesday 2006
We all have direct access through the Father in us--the central "I" of our being--to the great whole of life, love, wisdom, power, which is God. What we now want to know is how to receive more from the fountainhead and to make more and more of God (which is but another name for All-Good) manifest in our daily life.
There is but one Source of being. This Source is the living fountain of all good, be it life, love, wisdom, power--the Giver of all good gifts. This source and you are connected, every moment of your existence. You have power to draw on this Source for all of good you are, or ever will be, capable of desiring. ~ H. Emilie Cady (Lessons In Truth)
Seek and you shall find the one source of being which ultimately is you
June 13 ~ Tuesday 2006
Their is only one morality one can really consider ultimately. To understand and perform "morally" is to be true to yourself. In order to be true to yourself, you must know yourself. And the only way to know yourself is to be yourself. This is where you discover God. Good luck. There will be a quiz. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Seek and you shall find yourself
June 12 ~ Monday 2006
The purpose of prayer is not to make a request of God. The purpose of prayer is to get one's self into the state of consciousness required to commune with Higher Consciousness and let go of the human armor holding back the existing answers to prayer which are always there. To achieve even a mustard seed of Oneness with Higher Mind is to be at one with one's True Self and have access to the solutions to whatever one's needs are at that moment. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Seek and you shall find, ask and it shall be given
June 11 ~ Sunday 2006
Sri Aurobindo (1872-1950): The Indian seer and patriot renounced politics in 1910 to devote his life to discovering how the universe might be made divine. Sri Aurobindo founded an ashram which is distinguished by having no creed or ritual except the practice of meditation. He has been acclaimed as the hierophant of the new age, that of the God-man --- the gnostic being who excels man in things of the spirit. ~ by Harry E. Wedeck and Wade Baskin (Dictionary of Spiritualism, 1971)
To be still and know one's own Being, thus one with the Divine
June 10 ~ Saturday 2006
Hawaiian Rites: In funeral rites among the Hawaiians, the belief was that one of the deities associated with death helped the spirit of the dead person on the journey to the last home. This concept coincides precisely with the practice of Osiris and his attendant gods, as exemplified in the Egyptian guide for the deceased entitled The Book of the Dead. ~ by Harry E. Wedeck and Wade Baskin (Dictionary of Spiritualism, 1971)
Macro and Micro, it is All One, here, there and everywhere
June 9 ~ Friday 2006
Satanic Possession: In 1968, in Zeitoun, a suburb of Cairo, in Egypt, a case of diabolic possession occurred. An Arab declared he had been possessed by a spirit for twenty years. The Coptic priest attached to the local church took the matter in hand. After many exhortations and much questioning, he succeeded in exorcising the diabolic visitant, to the clamorous joy of the spectators.. ~ by Harry E. Wedeck and Wade Baskin (Dictionary of Spiritualism, 1971)
Without the Light, revealed within
June 8 ~ Thursday 2006
Buddhas of Compassion: In their various degrees of evolution, the Buddhas of Compassion constitute a sublime hierarchy reaching from the Silent Watcher on earth downward. Having raised themselves from humanity to quasi-divinity, they renounce their right to cosmic peace in order that they may let the light of the inner god manifest itself in man. ~ by Harry E. Wedeck and Wade Baskin (Dictionary of Spiritualism, 1971)
The Light from Within revealed Without
June 7 ~ Wednesday 2006
One day, a student by the name of Subba came to the Buddha with the following question: "Why are there differences between human beings? Some are handsome and beautiful, others are ugly and distasteful. Some are clever, others, stupid. Some take high births, others are born in the lower castes." The Buddha replied: "All beings are the heirs of their karma. Karma determines appearance, birth, health, intelligence, and so forth. This is why beings vary one from another. "A man or woman can never hide from the effects of an unskillful deed. Not in the highest cave nor in the depths of the sea can one sidestep the laws of karma. "Beings are the masters of their destiny. Happiness follows goodness. Unhappiness follows evil actions. No one can purify another. None can escape the consequences of their own actions." ~ Gavin Harrison (In The Lap of The Buddha, 1994)
Instant Karma's gonna get you... ~ John Lennon
June 6 ~ Tuesday 2006

Matter is not true as matter. It is Spirit misconceived. ~ Phineas P. Quimby
The brain does not think. Mind is the thinker. ~ Phineas P. Quimby
Not being able to judge cause and effect, he (man) becomes the victim of his own false beliefs. ~ Phineas P. Quimby

I AM myself as I AM Mind
June 4 ~ Sunday 2006
Old things are passed away and the ransomed of the Lord return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Did ever man write like this? The "ransomed of the Lord" are of course those who have realized, not merely believed, but realized their oneness with their own Indwelling Christ; truth themselves, not near to, not belonging to, but identical with themselves. Such as they who really have demonstrated the I AM. ~ Emmet Fox (Power Through Constructive Thinking, 1932)
I AM myself as I AM the very presence of the Indwelling Christ
June 3 ~ Saturday 2006
A view of humanity is often the observation of others who talk on and on about things as if they actually know what they are saying. They repeat things that they heard in life and a part of themselves perceives the truth of it but there isn't a totality of understanding therefore there is no Truth. There is a glimpse into the darkness but without perceiving very much light. Until you can hold one up to the other change cannot occur and thus realization will not take place. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
I AM One Mind knowing myself as I AM
June 2 ~ Friday 2006
Another thing one must recognize on this path is that Oneness does not represent simply a warm fuzzy nice idea. It is a mathematical concept and causes one to reflect on all things working together. Not a lot of separate things but Mind Being itself out and back within and without itself infinitely. We perceive things separately within our mind but not our entire mind because there is One Mind which is knowing and thinking it all. And that Allness is you. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
I AM One Mind and I AM thinking myself infinitely
June 1 ~ Thursday 2006
If there was one thing I could say which would change your life and the lives of others it would be this. You must know that there is only One Mind and if you think at all, you are connected to that One Mind. This does not mean you are a part of that One Mind, it means that you are that One Mind yet you are experiencing yourself as waking up to the Oneness. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
I AM One Mind and I AM speaking to myself and listening to myself
