Q.M.I. Presents Derek Lamar's
July 2006 Quote of the Day

July 31 ~ Monday 2006
I have read so many of the scrolls, texts, hidden writings, secret teachings, ancient and modern, as they related the work of one Jesus, the Christ. And those alongside the actual modern Bible, do not add one whit of insight which isn't already to be found in the Bible itself once one understands the mathematical ability to decipher the codes of a Teacher which creates the keys to the kingdom for anyone who wishes to enter. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Do not travel far, everything is to be found inside
July 30 ~ Sunday 2006
False evidence (Sense Testimony) cannot deceive or disturb anyone who knows that which is true. One who knows --- and knows that he knows --- never seeks to find a cause for fallacious evidence. He never asks, Why did this happen to me? or What is the cause of this? He never concerns himself with its apparent substance or activity. He is totally unconcerned with the false evidence. He is wholly and completely convinced of the nothingness of an imperfect appearance; and he is concerned ONLY with the genuine and ONLY Substance and activity which does exist.. ~ Marie S. Watts (Gems from the Word, 1966)
Look to what is, not that which is not
July 29 ~ Saturday 2006
The word completeness is one of the most important words in our entire spiritual vocabulary. A thorough study and contemplation of his word, with all of its wonderful and varied spiritual significations, is most enlightening and rewarding. Moreover, a spiritual awareness of the import of this word is essential to our ever expanding conscious Self revelation. ~ Marie S. Watts (Gems from the Word, 1966)
To clarify this for those who waver at such explanations decrying the obvious by stating: "How can this be true? Look around you. Can you not see what is happening in the world?" But you must remember that what you are perceiving is similar to viewing the computer with a virus. You are not able to see what is actually going on. The corruption of one's vision through duality causes one thing to mean another and so on and so on. It is like having an error in your bank statement and how a small error can continue to incrementally exaggerate the final total and thus distorting all of the calculations made on that erroneous information. We are not a lot of people fighting amongst ourselves in Reality because there is only One Mind in Truth. Once that is recognized everything falls into place easily and harmoniously revealing a vista of perfection as the "your world". ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Reality is Whole, Complete and Perfect: simply open thine eyes
July 28 ~ Friday 2006
If one believes that something outside of, or other than, the Self can be revealed, he must believe that he is separate from the revelation that is essential to his complete Self realization. He must also believe that there is something outside of, or other than, the Self to be revealed. This is twoness. This is duality, and a very subtle aspect of self deception. It is this deceptive fallacy that seems to bind us, restrict us, and blind us, to the immeasurable immensity of our God Being. ~ Marie S. Watts (Gems from the Word, 1966)
Let thine eye be single
July 27 ~ Thursday 2006
There is no spiritual mandate that one must Teach and heal others. But on this Path one is obligated to free themselves and in doing so they gain much because they set themselves free, but also in freeing oneself you free others. Therefore you do nothing for others and only yourself and others benefit. This is the impersonal life. This is an impersonal path. And yet one which is fueled by the love of God. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Walk close to the Light and you will never be in your own shadow
July 26 ~ Wednesday 2006
To establish a Path for oneself is very important. Life passes us by so quickly and by introducing oneself to a spiritual discipline which is followed in order to unfold ourselves is incredibly fulfilling and gives meaning where disappointment and frustration will paint the walls of most people when they look back at their life's accomplishments. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Footsteps in the Light will beat bumps in the night anytime
July 25 ~ Tuesday 2006
Destiny and Intention are two forces from the same ONE REALITY. Duality creates a time, space and change thing and thus we are able to perceive the "out and back" of the expression of the One Infinite Now. Destiny is that which is pulling us even if we do not feel it consciously. Intention is that which is pushing us even if we do not feel it consciously. It is much like the dime you are searching for in your pocket which desires to be found as much as you desire to find it. Keep these thoughts in mind when you are attempting to accomplish something and you will be amazed at the metanoia (spiritual mutation / change in consciousness) which will take place. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Marching to a drum from within and gravitating toward the unknown Soul
July 24 ~ Monday 2006
ROAR (of the night)
The sun is high, it's hot and dry
The air is still, at least until you're sailing
Kicking up dust, do what you must
The wilderness lust has made you King unfailing
The distant sound of back bush drums
Burns your heart and makes your run worth waiting
The power and drive will keep you alive
You gotta survive the hardened Earth is wailing ~ Derek Lamar (Roar of the Night: © copyright 1979)
Roar... the voice within the voice which cries out to be itself
Happy Birthday Ruth Hannah Manasse... she would have been 103 yesterday July 23
July 23 ~ Sunday 2006
Experimentation has demonstrated that the subjective mind is incapable of inductive reasoning, therefore it must follow the patterns given it. In doing this, however, it is always logical and works out every pattern, even to the minutest detail. Subjective mind may be controlled by the objective. It is upon this supposition that mind healing is based. ~ Ernest Holmes (Lessons In Spiritual Mind Healing, 1943)
Life is the process of discovering that healing is restoration of clear thinking
July 22 ~ Saturday 2006
Reach inside of yourself and release that of you which is the universal good that is eternal and you will have discovered the reality of who you really are. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Life is the process of discovering the Self
July 21 ~ Friday 2006
Everything is thought. Everything is consciousness. Everything is your consciousness of it. Whatever it is that you perceive it is resulting from your thoughts about it. It isn't simply that the Universe or your world is whatever you want to believe about it, though in many respects that is true, but the important thing to remember is that there is an absolute reality existing there which allows for the principle of you are whatever you believe. But the fundamental reality which is in back of time, space and change is one which is whole, complete and perfect. This reality I am speaking of is Consciousness and it is One Consciousness, One Mind, Infinite Mind, and this intelligence is the only intelligence there is which includes you because you are intelligence. But this Oneness requires that Oneness is the operative formula and thus there is only One Mind and that One Mind is YOU! It isn't a matter of stepping out on a limb, because you are the whole tree. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Existence is the eternal reality of who you are
July 20 ~ Thursday 2006
Everything reflects the ONE MIND which is the reality of who you are (I AM) and all things as thoughts symbolize the whole, complete and perfect attributes that Reality is expressing as Consciousness out and back to itself. Whatever you perceive which reflects a negative is our sense of separateness dividing the Oneness from itself creating a dualistic illusion which corrupts the original idea of all things perceived but in back of this Universe forever remains the perfect reality which we must simply recognize and like a dream we begin to awaken from the delusion. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Existence is the eternal vibration of life
July 19 ~ Wednesday 2006
Gold and silver are mined from the earth and are buried as treasure: from earth they come, to earth they go. Truth and wisdom come from above, and can never be buried. ~ George M. Lamsa (Gems of Wisdom, 1966)
Material things are often lost whereas wisdom is never forgotten
July 18 ~ Tuesday 2006
To take life philosophically, therefore, is to be content; and contentment is the master of every situation. It knows neither riches nor poverty, neither sorrows nor joys. It often happens that people with money, health, and all the comforts of material life are discontented and unhappy. Happiness is not the result of wealth and luxuries, but of spiritual understanding and knowledge of the purpose of life. Life is greater and more important than all material things around it. ~ George M. Lamsa (Gems of Wisdom, 1966)
Material things are often the mystery we use to hide our disappointments
July 17 ~ Monday 2006
He who gives much, shall be given much
If, then, everything in life has a purpose, and from everything we learn a lesson, let us change our outlook on the things that surround us, and give life a new emphasis. Let us look on suffering, poverty, and injustice not as a punishment from God, or any other source, but as the result of our own thoughts and actions; and let us learn lessons from them for a larger and happier life. ~ George M. Lamsa (Gems of Wisdom, 1966)
Real learning begins when unlearning is understood
It is not the information we acquire which sets us free
But the information we let go of
July 16 ~ Sunday 2006
When luck comes your way, and it seems like an answer to prayer, but you did not face your God inside, it is time you find it there. Do not turn your back on good fortune, or dishonor it in this way, recognize the spiritual unfoldment, and when it comes you'll know that it will stay. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
July 15 ~ Saturday 2006
When you occupy a lower position, think of a higher one; for in so doing you will prepare yourself to occupy it. When you occupy a higher position, think of a lower one; for in so doing you will be able to understand the people who work under you. ~ George M. Lamsa (Gems of Wisdom, 1966)
He who is first shall be last, he who is last shall be first
July 14 ~ Friday 2006
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said: "The wave of the Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world." It appears the wave is about to crash back upon itself.
He who troubles his own household shall inherit the wind
July 13 ~ Thursday 2006
A professor stood before his philosophy class with some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar gently and the pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous “yes.”
At this point the professor produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured them each into the jar, effectively filling the empty spaces between the sand. The students laughed.
“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - your family, your children, your health, your friends, your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
“The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house, and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room to share a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, just remember the mayonnaise jar.. and the coffee...
It's nice to know that coffee can wake you up!
July 12 ~ Wednesday 2006
A full moon is indeed a time of full reflection of one's unconscious. The moon symbolizes the subconscious mind and though it reflects the light of the Higher Self it is still obscured by the influence of the earth and the "world" with its confusion and how it filters one's understanding of that which is True. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
This Light is still Light and can provide insight
July 11 ~ Tuesday 2006
There is no "true church" in the human sense. The "True Church" is a state of consciousness whereby there is an understanding that there is only One Mind and that the kingdom of heaven is within you. The acceptance of "The Christ" is the realization and understanding that Mind is whole, complete and perfect and is one's true reality. It is stated in scripture: "Let this mind which was in Christ Jesus also be in you." This means it wasn't a person that is required to accept and worship but rather the opening up to this state of consciousness which is the Mind of Christ. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
This Mind which is God is who you really are
July 10 ~ Monday 2006
Beyond any doubt we know that always we have been, and forever we shall be, all that we have seemed to be seeking. But, we also know that no one can teach our Self to us. No one can lead us to discover our Self. And the seeming search is over. We have merely rediscovered that which we knew, and knew our Self to be, before the illusion called birth seemed to overtake us. ~ Marie S. Watts (The Ultimate Awareness: An Eternal Constant, 1968)
There is only one thing to discover, and that is ourselves
July 9 ~ Sunday 2006
Our world, our universe, our reality is indeed very much the same as that reality in the Matrix. The only difference is that when we wake up we do not discover our bodies somewhere dreaming up this illusion but rather the illusion simply disappears. To wake up from reality is to realize that the mind we are using is the same One Mind which is the Infinite Intelligence that always was, is and will be. This Infinite Reality is what we must awaken to and know that our Identity is one which has no disease, no death, no poverty, no conflicts, and no other person separate from ourselves. Most people do not want to discover that what they believe is a lie. They would rather continue their fantasy than take responsibility for being GOD. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
There is One God and you are IT
July 8 ~ Saturday 2006
The fear of war is very closely linked to the act of war itself. The belief in conflict, chaos and corruption and is a belief in a reality which allows for this to happen. This is the same belief which creates a window for war itself. The other aspect to this in a microcosmic view is to recognize our own conflicts within that we turn our backs on and deny the battle which is required if we are to actually achieve control over the self. One must do battle with their own opposing ideas until Oneness is realized. Where there is Oneness there can be no conflict. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
There is One Mind and it is at peace
July 7 ~ Friday 2006
Even though it sounds like madness, in the end, in the final analysis, in the last breath of spiritual excitation and personal illumination, one must come to the realization that they are in fact the only mind there is and that everything which they are experiencing and perceiving is all going on within their consciousness. This consciousness, of course, is not the limited brain faculties but that of Infinite Mind and everyone that everyone experiences is a reflection of themselves striving to reach their own illumination as well but they are not separate from that same consciousness which is waking up to the knowledge of self and of One Mind. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
There is One Mind and it is yours as it is mine and we are talking to ourselves
July 6 ~ Thursday 2006
When you want a healing you must realize that a healing is not what you want. You want to have perfect health. If you wanted to have a healing it would require that you actually believe in disease. It is the believing in disease which makes it necessary to want a healing. Once you realize that disease is an illusion and a lie about perfect health you will no longer appear to be sick. It isn't just that you believe in the disease. But that you actually believe in the whole entire illusion you are living in. The whole time you seek realization another part of you says: "But I don't want such and such to change... or this... or that... and then your little house of cards of delusion becomes firmly planted into the ground of your disbelief in True Reality. It is something you must work on all the time, everyday. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
There is One Mind and the Truth which it is only expresses wholeness, completeness and perfection... go for it
July 5 ~ Wednesday 2006
Just as there is an inner creative Subjectivity, so there is an all-pervading, an all-permeating Creative Medium. Just as there is an individual mind, there is a Universal Mind. The Universal Mind Principle is always subjective. Our individual subjective Mind. It is our individual use of the creative Power which runs through all nature and which gives rise to all form. ~ Ernest Holmes (Lessons In Spiritual Mind Healing, 1943)
There is One Mind and Mind is all there is... think about it
July 4 ~ Tuesday 2006
In times to come scientific savants will devote more attention to this nebulous, intangible thing we call our mind. But in the meantime this inner space is something that each can investigate for himself. Each person can become a scientific researcher. The equipment with which he works is his own thought. And the results of his experiments can have measurable effects in his everyday living. ~ Ernest Holmes (Thoughts Are Things, 1967 with Willis Kinnear)
The Truth of Independence... within the Mind
July 3 ~ Monday 2006
Dr. Carl Jung has pointed out in one of his books that there is no way to account for the visible unless you consider that it proceeds from or comes out of the invisible, and the invisible is the cause of the visible. So the invisible Principle -- God, the universal Essence of Reality, the "I am that I am" -- is incarnated in us as the "I" which we are. There is the Universal I Am and the individual I. Each one of us is an individual I rooted in the Universal I Am -- a personification at the level of our conscious perception of that invisible Presence which is both God and man. ~ Ernest Holmes (10 Ideas That Make A Difference: 6. Discover Yourself, 1966)
What you are not, is not: reach for the stars
July 2 ~ Sunday 2006
The consciousness that god is in and through everything will enable you better to see perfection and harmony in people and affairs. Know that the Spirit is right where you are. It is the very essence of your being. It is at the center as well as at the circumference of your life. Learn to sense this Divine Presence in every thought and act. ~ Ernest Holmes (This Thing Called YOU, 1948
Be awake, the dream is the whisper not yet understood
July 1 ~ Saturday 2006
I was doing some chores around the house and was having some problem placing some screws in an awkward place. I got angry. The screw kept falling out of place and there I am under the bed with a flashlight and a drill getting more and more frustrated and angry. I finally "woke up" and told myself to think "Truth" and proceed in that state of mind. In this Consciousness I knew the Truth was harmony and order and balance and that the intention was to achieve doing what needed to be done easily. It was immediately quick and easy and finished. I was pleased but also in a sort of shock at how I could suddenly reflect on the operations of my subconscious and how within my anger I was also working against myself. Not simply because I was in a negative state, but I was actually attempting to fail in order that I obtain confirmation that I was right about something pertaining to things not working out and I had a right to be angry. Perhaps it was in support of anger itself and thus would create reasons to get that anger out without actually dealing with the deep-seated reason for it in my subconscious. None-the-less the negative was an "I-it" action versus the "I -Thou" which allowed one to have intention operate within them in a competent, fast, orderly and successful manner. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
