Q.M.I. Presents Derek Lamar's
March Quote of the Day 2008

March 31 ~ Monday 2008
Science is rapidly closing in on the gap from one end while mystics and teachers are closing in on spiritual reality from the other end as the two become One. So too is the male moving toward the female and the female toward the male as the two become One. Also is the philosophies and politics are moving toward each other in their extremes as they become One. Soon all races will have moved toward one another to become One. If we do not live to see it we will be reborn to create it. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
And when the two become One so too shall the sun shine all of the time
March 30 ~ Sunday 2008
The rank and file of today's physicists were willing to accept the bizarre nature of the quantum world at face value because the mathematics, such as the Schrodinger equation, works so well, but shook their heads at the counter-intuitiveness of it all. How could electrons be in touch with everything at once? How could an electron not be a set single until it is examined or measured? How, in fact, could anything be concrete in the world, if it was a will o' the wisp once you started looking at it? ~ Lynne McTaggart (The Field: The Quest for The Secret Force of The Universe, 2002)
Then again, how can there be a thought about a wave if it wants to surf a particle?
March 29 ~ Saturday 2008
If consciousness itself created order - or indeed in some way created the world - this suggested much more capacity in the human being than was currently understood. It also suggest some revolutionary notions about humans in relation to their world and the relation between all living things. What Schmidt was also asking was how far our bodies extended. Did they end with what we always thought of as our own isolated persona, or 'extend out' so that the demarcation between us and our world was less clear-cut? Did living consciousness possess some quantum-field-like properties, enabling it to extend its influence out into the world? If so, was it possible to do more than simply observe? How strong was our influence? It was only a small step in logic to conclude that in our act of participation as an observer in the quantum world, we might also be an influencer, a creator. Did we not only stop the butterfly at a certain point in its flight, but also influence the path it will take - nudging it in a particular direction? ~ Lynne McTaggart (The Field: The Quest for The Secret Force of The Universe, 2002)
The Universe is a pretty big place... if you think about it
March 28 ~ Friday 2008
Strictly speaking and viewing the matter from the spiritual and universal point of view, love is not primarily an emotion; it is a principle. It is the principle of unity, the principle of divine attraction, the principle which holds all elements together in a functioning, organic whole. It is the unity of the universe, the harmonious Spirit of that Whole to which we all belong and of which we are all essential parts; and love is our consciousness of that Whole and of our relation to it. This is why it is so imperative that we find and work in the consciousness of unity and of the common purpose of humanity. This is the only way to solve the problems and conflicts of life. ~ Gladys C. Grier (Foundation Stones of Truth, 1948)
Knowing Oneness is Reality is not enough, you must KNOW Oneness is Reality ~ D.L.
March 27 ~ Thursday 2008
Cosmic and Christ Consciousness can be cultivated. Because you are Spirit, you have it within you to live as Spirit and to "manifest the perfection of Spirit in mind, body, and environment." What we vision toward, what we affirm and accept as true, what we steadfastly hold before our inner minds, we will eventually express. So we can take any one of the qualities mentioned above, or all of them, and by persistently affirming that quality for ourselves, sooner or later it will be quickened within us and will "become a factor of our consciousness." ~ Gladys C. Grier (Foundation Stones of Truth, 1948)
As life unfolds so too can we enfold the knowledge of Truth that it might transform ourselves ~ D.L.
March 26 ~ Wednesday 2008
We have discovered by the revelation of Truth, verified by the teachings of the most highly enlightened souls the race has produced, that man is a spiritual being made in the image of God. But why, we ask, has he not known this great fact and lived accordingly? Why has he postponed his good to a future heaven and struggled along through life with burdens, mental, physical, financial, and all manner of fears, limitations and conflicts? There is only one answer. It is because of his consciousness. He has not become spiritually conscious; he has not matured spiritually. This he must now do, for only a spiritual consciousness can bring into manifestation the perfection of Spirit. ~ Gladys C. Grier (Foundation Stones of Truth, 1948)
Rise and be healed in Mind, Body and Soul for you are the Mind which created all of this
March 25 ~ Tuesday 2008
I was sitting there listening, trying to pay attention to every word but my mind would wander and I would have to pull my focus back into place and I would shift in my seat and relax and begin listening all over again. I began to notice a light around the speaker's head. I had heard about auras and that there were people who could see them but suddenly there I was viewing this blue light around someone's head. I thought it might be my imagination but as I began to concentrate I realized that I could see a faint light around my hand and fingers as I looked down at them. Just being in this spiritual environment caused one to push the envelope of their own reality and step out into a realm of consciousness they had never visited before. The experience of being in the presence of a Master Teacher could only be measured within oneself by how much they themselves could understand and contemplate. It was a constantly shifting adventure which could never be duplicated or experienced the same by anyone else. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Mystical Journey)
There is no one answer which could ever explain the fullness of life
March 24 ~ Monday 2008
This realization of truth, of the eternal, is not in the movement of time, which is but a habit of the mind. When you say that you will realize it in course of time, that is, in some future, then you are only postponing that comprehension which must ever be in the present. But if the mind understands the completeness of life, and is free from the division of time into the past, present, and future, then there comes the realization of that living eternal reality. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti (Stresa, Italy, first public talk: July 2, 1933)
There is a True Life and it is hidden within. ~ D.L.
March 23 ~ Sunday 2008
There is, of course, no doubt that the great historical religions of the East included the teaching of Reincarnation as a fundamental tenet. In India, as in Egypt, Reincarnation was at the root of ethics. Among the Jews it was held commonly by the Pharisees, and the popular belief comes out in various phrases in the New Testament, as when John the Baptist is regarded as a reincarnation of Elijah, or as when the disciples ask whether the man born blind is suffering for the sin of his parents or for some former sin of his own. The Zohar, again, speaks of souls as being subjected to transmigration. ~ Annie Besant (Reincarnation: Theosophical Manual No. 2, 1892)
If you did not exist before and will not exist again then the Eternity of God is a lie
March 22 ~ Saturday 2008
All Teachings need a living Teacher to be a viable source of enlightenment. It is the relationship between the Teacher and the student, pupil, chela which opens the window to one's soul. This does not mean that the words of those who have moved on will not aid one in the pursuit of Truth, but for that ongoing learning and spiritual unfoldment one needs to have a real relationship with a real living Teacher. As the saying goes: "When the student is ready, the Teacher appears." ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
The wind rustles the leaves and they all whisper, I AM
March 21 ~ Friday 2008
With the birth of Ego, man has been afforded the opportunity to step aside of himself, as it were, and examine his own internal state of being. He can now watch his mind at play. He has become aware of himself as an individual with vague inner drives not associated with the body, nor essential to survival. Unlike the animal, aware of its surroundings but unaware that it is, Egoman is endowed with the faculty whereby he may now become aware of being aware. An animal may know, but only man may know that he knows. Such is the nature of Self-consciousness which in each of us has matured to a varying degree. ~ Anthony J. Fisichella (Metaphysics: The Science of Life, 1984)
The first and the last, the "self" and the "SELF", as the one and as the many...
March 20 ~ Thursday 2008
Psychoanalysis also shows that love by its very nature cannot be restricted to one person. Anyone who loves only one person and does not love "his neighbor" demonstrates that his love for one person is an attachment of submission or of domination but not love. Furthermore, anyone who loves his neighbor but does not love himself shows that the love of his neighbor is not genuine. Love is based on an attitude of affirmation and respect, and if this attitude does not also exist toward oneself, who is after all only another human being and another neighbor, it does not exist at all. ~Erich Fromm (Psychoanalysis and Religion, 1950)
Observe all avenues of love and discover the light within the self ~ D.L.
March 19 ~ Wednesday 2008
I do not know if you have ever noticed that when you give total attention there is complete silence. And in that attention there is no frontier, there is no center, as the "me" who is aware or attentive. That attention, that silence, is a state of meditation. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
To be still is to let go of the energy of distraction ~ D.L.
March 18 ~ Tuesday 2008
It's curious how all-important meditation becomes; there's no end to it nor is there a beginning to it. It's like a raindrop: in that drop are all the streams, the great rivers, the seas and the waterfalls: that drop nourishes the earth and man; without it, the earth would be a desert. Without meditation the heart becomes a desert, a wasteland. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
Water is the emotion of the heart that flows out and back to the Life Force
March 17 ~ Monday 2008
Looking for enlightenment could never happen. Working to achieve a sense of Being and feeling you know who you are as a self which transcends the human self will begin the journey. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
The light bulb symbolizes an idea because LIGHT is that which reveals reality
March 16 ~ Sunday 2008
The kingdom of perfecton is within us now. It has never been apart from us or we from it. One cannot know the realities of being so long as he believes that we are not the perfect being now but that first a translation must take place. ~ Lilliam DeWaters (Voice of Revelation)
Translation: to move from earth to heaven without experiencing natural death
March 15 ~ Saturday 2008
When God pardons or forgives, he "gives for" our imperfect ideas of ourselves his own perfect ideas. ~ Gladys Grier (Foundation Stones of Truth)
To "give for" a new awareness based on Absolute Truth
March 14 ~ Friday 2008
I am all that has entered into me from the beginning of time, for all time is in me and all futurity. I am the mother who gave me birth, the father whose seed fertilized me, the teachers who taught me, the friends who companioned and corrected me. I am my children and their children; I am my ancestors and all that unknown life which went into me before man was. I am all that I hear, smell, see and think. And what I am not, I am hitched to by my human, animal, cellular, divine nature. God grows inwardly, and I grow outward from that inwardness, and somehow we are perfectly joined. ~ Bradford Smith (Meditation: The Inward Art, 1962)
I am that I am, I am all there is, I am now and forever
March 13 ~ Thursday 2008
Everything is spiritual but we only see our reality based on our belief system. If we understood and accepted Oneness as Reality we would not experience the duality of conflict and the opposites which oppose rather than fulfill. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Oneness is not something we create, but something we discover

March 12 ~ Wednesday 2008
There is nothing to fear but ignorance because that keeps us from pursuing the Truth and the desire to know the Truth. Keep knowing that Mind is unfolding and working to reveal within you the Divinity that you are already. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Find the resonance of your Path and follow it as it unfolds who you are ~ D.L.

Regarding the bald eagle...all expressions of consciousness have meaning... and just as sense testimony for different illnesses trace to constructs... it is true that infinite variety expresses elements of its own consciousness as well. Animals are thoughts and birds represent Higher Thoughts. The bald eagle is one which is full of action and dominance and control and leadership and this would express a recognition into one's life of those attributes as they relate to one's own Higher Self perhaps entering into one's life at this time... which is crucial time and in need of any help one can get... obviously this is an experience to honor and remember and accept as an outpicturing of on's own divinity. The spreading of wins is the taking off, and perhaps you are venturing into new areas of consciousness and beginning to express your own spirituality in new ways in a more confident leadership role. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Rise above all of life and view it through the eyes of God
March 10 ~ Monday 2008
But what I felt the demonstrations showed, even more than their control of over themselves, was the terrific domination of Gurdjieff, the Master. At his command, they'd race, spread out at breakneck speed from left to right across the stage, and at another low command from him, freeze in full flight as if caught by a racetrack camera. Once I saw Gurdjieff push a dancer who had been "frozen" by his command in an attitude of difficult equilibrium. The dancer tumbled and rolled over several times, then rolled upright and back again, apparently without volitionally assuming it---in the original frozen position. ~ Paul Beekman Taylor (Gurdjieff's America: Mediating the Miraculous)
Intention is powerful, discover it within
March 9 ~ Sunday 2008
Gurdjieff himself, a calm bull-like man, with muscles in those days as hard as steel, in immaculate dinner clothes, his head shaven like a Prussian Officer's, with black luxuriant handlebar moustaches, and generally smoking expensive Egyptian cigarettes, stood casually down in the audience, or off to the side beside the piano... He never shouted. He was always casual. Yet always in complete command. It was as if he were a slave-master or wild-animal trainer, with an invisible bull-whip swishing through the air. Among his other qualities, he was a great showman, and a climax came one night which literally had the front row out of their seats. The troupe was deployed extreme back stage, facing the audience. At his command, they came racing full-tilt towards the footlights. We expected to see a wonderful exhibition of arrested motion. But instead, Gurdjieff calmly turned his back, and was lighting a cigarette. In the next split second, an aerial human avalanche was flying through the air, across the orchestra, down among empty chairs, on the floor, bodies pell-mell, piled on top of each other, arms and legs, sticking out in weird postures---frozen there, fallen, in complete immobility and silence. Only after it had happened did Gurdjieff turn and look at them, as they lay there, still immobile. When they presently arose, by his permission, and it was evident that no arms, legs or necks had been broken---no one seemed to have suffered even so much as a scratch or bruise---there was a storm of applause, mingled with a little protest. It had almost been too much. ~ Paul Beekman Taylor (Gurdjieff's America: Mediating the Miraculous)
To stop all thought, is to experience Being
March 8 ~ Saturday 2008
Self discovery begins by viewing others and realizing we are looking into a mirror. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
All of life is an echo which is forever the same and changing

Healing does not mean going back to the way things were before, but rather allowing what is now to move us closer to God. ~ Ram Dass
Truth is the restoration of our perception to Wholeness, this process is a healing ~ D.L.
March 6 ~ Thursday 2008
The Absolute means that there can be but one Truth. That which is not Absolute Truth is not Truth at all. Truth, to be true, must be absolutely true. If there is the slightest variation, deviation, from Total Truth, you have nonsense. Truth to be true, must be completely whole, absolutely true. To be accurate, It must be one hundred percent accurate. To be right, It must be totally right. I defy anyone to contradict these statements, in honesty. ~ Alfred Aiken (Lectures On Reality)
It goes on to say that “Either God is everywhere present, totally and completely functioning, one hundred percent active everywhere, or else Truth is a liar.” which is to say that Truth is all there is. Aiken also says that “If one would start as Truth Itself, if he would hold to what Reality is, he would discover that this very instant Omnipresent Truth -- Reality, Fact, the All-of-all -- leaves no place where error could be. ~ Alfred Aiken (Power)
Whatever is not Truth, is not, so is already nonsense! ~ Alfred Aiken (Power)
Truth is not simply all there is, Truth is ALLNESS which in itself reflects Wholeness and Completeness and Perfection operating in back of what are the appearances
March 5 ~ Wednesday 2008
The intellect and the heart are not separate. They are different expressions of the same One Mind. Thoughts and feelings are both expressions of consciousness. I think therefore I am. I am happy and full of joy. I am whole, complete and perfect. I am expressing the Love that is the One Mind One Heart of the Universe. Oneness is all there is. This is the Out and Back of Reality. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Think with your heart, feel with your mind ~ Thane of Hawaii
March 4 ~ Tuesday 2008
So thought is the instrument of pleasure, and thought is the instrument of pain, fear - consciously or unconsciously. Then there is the whole question of hidden fears, unconscious, deep rooted fears inherited through the environment, through culture, through the race, through family, you know, the stored up fears. Now how is one to be free of all that? ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti (1961)
To be free is to always be letting go of that which is not so ~ D.L.
March 3 ~ Monday 2008
Self-Knowledge has always been the theme of the Illumined, who know and teach God and the Self to be One. As long as one believes himself to be separate from God,he will remain mortal to himself. Sooner or later, everyone must release himself from a hypothetical mind of his own, and turn unconditionally to God---identifying himself with God alone.
God is Mind. Mind can never be deprived of Itself. God is Love. Love cannot divorce Itself. The place whereon we stand is the place where God Is. God is His own Safety, His own Security, His own Peace. Everything in Himself is fully held by Him. His whole Universe of Perfection and Completeness is in Him, and He in It. God is His own Illumination, His own Revelation, His own Heaven. ~ Lillian DeWaters
To be illumined is to not be embarrassed as to who you really are ~ D.L.
March 2 ~ Sunday 2008
The knowingness of Truth being all brings into focus the realization of Infinity. Once Infinity has been placed on the table as Reality one must know that time, in the human sense, no longer has validity. And once time is seen from this new perspective you come to understand there is no past or future. Only the present. What the present is, is right now. Nowness. This nowness relates to the “I AM” as well. In your mind, in your consciousness, you attain the nowingness of “I AM” not the “I was” or “I will be,” or even the “I could have been.” It is a matter of Beingness. Being is eternally ongoing. And this is your True Identity. You are eternally ongoing. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (The I AM Connection: Nowness, 2002)
I AM that I AM is the stature to self realization
March 1 ~ Saturday 2008
One must begin to realize that life, or the appearances of life, are expressions of an Ultimate Consciousness. This is where you are drawn because this is from where you have emerged. But everything in the Absolute sense of Reality correlates to attributes of what that Reality is. We perceive many things but rarely do we see things as they are in their pristine state of expression. Usually, based on the duality we filter that reality through, we perceive chopped up projections that are expressed whole and complete to begin with but we perceive them in our veiled consciousness in a fragmented state. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Lessons In Destiny: Holographic Mind, 2008)
In the image and likeness of a holographic reality
