July Quote of the Day 2008
July 31 ~ Thursday 2008
There is not in the world a kind of life more sweet and delightful than that of a continual conversation with God. Those only can comprehend it who practice and experience it; yet I do not advise you to do it from that motive. It is not pleasure which we ought to seek in this exercise; but let us do it from a principle of love, and because God would have us. ~ Brother Lawrence (The Practice of The Presence of God, 1666)
Self denial must be the vacuum to receive the True Self
July 30 ~ Wednesday 2008
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. ~ Frank Outlaw
Self observation is the key to illumination
July 29 ~ Tuesday 2008
Look always to yourself for the answers you seek. Not in the self which lies but the self which stands in back of the wall you usually do not look behind. Be open to the voice within which always did know the truth. I am not speaking about "conscience" which is too often social or religious guilt, but rather that part of yourself which is more open to the obvious good which would come your way if you would accept you are good enough to receive it. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Do not turn away from that which will set your life straight. Better to enjoy a lifetime of fulfillment than one day of nervous satisfaction.
July 28 ~ Monday 2008
We may scoff at the very concept of spirit, but the fact remains that we cannot do without it; for one pillar of our being is so firmly anchored in the spiritual that no single process of human thinking is possible without it. This is a truth which can be readily demonstrated by countless facts in human psychology, as has been done by Carl Jung and his associates. ~ Franz E. Winkler (Man: The Bridge Between Two Worlds, 1960)
The threshold between the intellect and the spirit is a short walk and one must not look back
July 27 ~ Sunday 2008
Ther Some optimists feel that no great harm can come from such doctrines which, while denying reality in one sphere, stress its existence in another and thus balance their ultimate effect on human psychology. Unfortunately, this is not so; for it is much easier to destroy convictions than to create them. Moreover, in all radical doctrines there is one common factor capable of a cumulative effect on human thought life, and that is doubt.. ~ Franz E. Winkler (Man: The Bridge Between Two Worlds, 1960)
To doubt is to believe strongly in the negative which is the mindset which one calls upon
July 26 ~ Saturday 2008
Is it possible to translate the medieval visions of good and evil into modern concepts of ethics? We believe it is, but before attempting to do so we must once more return to the polarity between intuition and intellect on which man's moral freedom on earth depnds. Perhaps history's best-known example for the use of a purely intuitive state of consciousness can be found in ancient oracles like the Delphian. Here the priestess was exposed to drugs that paralyzed certain parts of her brain: the pictures which then arose in her mind were entirely devoid of intellectual reasoning. On the other hand, an example of intellectual analysis in its puresst form can be found in the calculations of an "artificial brain," as registered but not yet evaluated by its human operator. . ~ Franz E. Winkler (Man: The Bridge Between Two Worlds, 1960)
"I must decrease, in order that he must increase" (The Christ Within)
July 25 ~ Friday 2008
Thoughts are direct products of mind, and back of the mind of man is the Mind of God. The concious mind of man is a portion of one of the degrees of the Conscious Mind of God. It is this conscious mind that enables man to have the power of self-expression. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
Self denial must
July 24 ~ Thursday 2008
If the conscious mind of an individual is opposed to that thought, it can make no impression upon the Sub-Conscious mind of that particular individual. He is immune to the idea. Not even the Universal mind can implant a thought upon the mind of the individual who opposes the idea back of the though. In view of this fact it is easily understood why certain persons are well and remain well through certain epidemics. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
Absolute agreement in focus is the knowing of Truth
July 23 ~ Wednesday 2008
Fear has a vibration that interferes with other vibrations. It is very powerful, for it causes a confusion in the conscious mind that is reflected into the Subjective mind---and the Subjective mind becomes confused in turn, and its vibrations in the Universal reservoir. The power of attraction is destroyed. The things that may have been started, or direction, in the reservoir toward the individual are discontinued. They may retain a certain energy or cohesion for a while but, if the fear vibrations continue in the person, the elements that are being drawn together in the abstract are eventually dissolved into their original condition. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
I'm picking up good vibrations...
July 22 ~ Tuesday 2008
The conscious mind of man is the determining factor in the creative process. It gives orders which the Sub-Conscious mind is compelled to obey. These orders are not necessarily consciously given. The Sub-Conscious is so subtle that it reacts with a greater degree of sensitiveness than man can conceive. It takes on the man's vibrations, and these vibrations are in reality the determining factor. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
Thinking is the awareness of the Infinite Self
July 21 ~ Monday 2008
These things (ideas for change) can enter the Sub-Conscious mind only through the conscious mind. The Sub-Conscious mind is the only medium by which the individual may contact the Universal Source of Supply. The Sub-Conscious mind does not choose---nor has it the power to reject. It accepts whatever the conscious mind decrees. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
Mind is One: Conscious, Sub-Conscious and SupraConscious
July 20 ~ Sunday 2008
Thoughts are a form of energy. They determine the kind of materials which the Universal uses in making the things a man receives, or the conditions which enter into his life and experience. That is why it is necessary to guard the portals of the conscious mind. Keep the door shut to thoughts of sickness, disease and disaster. Open the door to thoughts of health, plenty and prosperity. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
Energy is the ability to express the infinite variety of Mind
July 19 ~ Saturday 2008
If the individual can establish in his conscious mind a conviction of success, rather than fear of failure, adverse conditions can be completely destroyed. This is due to the fact that the Sub-Conscious mind must at all times adopt as its own whatever idea the conscious mind may be holding. The conscious mind has but to establish within itself the idea of success--- and failure automatically disappears. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
When the nothingness of error is understood, only Truth remains
July 18 ~ Friday 2008
There are no accidents... there is only some purpose that we haven't yet understood. ~ Deepak Chopra
There are no accidents. ~ Lillian DeWaters
There are no coincidences. ~ George Noory
There are no accidents in the Universe. It is all Mind Unfolding. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
In back of time, space and change there is infinite thought... thinking
July 17 ~ Friday 2008
It is like a problem in mathematics, and that applies to the entire subject matter embodied in this book. If anyone is of sufficient intelligence to add and subtract, he can acquire the ability to cause to be manifested for him whatever he decrees in life. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
Discovering Infinite Mind is the realization of the mathematics of Life
July 16 ~ Friday 2008
Man must have the conviction that he has a power inherent within himself to make a visualization come into manifestation, or he is only wasting his time. There must be an absolute conviction that it is coming to him by virtue of his God-given power to do constructive work with his mind. Just to sit idly and imagine the things he would like to possess will not bring them to him. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
All is God: Mind, Body and Soul
July 15 ~ Friday 2008
The conscious mind of man is the human dynamo that sends power to the Sub-Conscious mind. It is this dynamic quality which a man should employ to do creative work; and since the conscious mind is the only force to which the Sub-Conscious responds, a man should understand the manner in which the conscious mind should be used. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
Creativity is the ongoingness of Mind unfolding
July 14 ~ Friday 2008
The conscious mind is the one and only force to which the Sub-Conscious mind responds. Conscious thought has power. The human concept of power is physical. Power in reality is a product of mind. Mind in all its diffeent phases is God. Mind is Spirit. God is Spirit. Man is Spirit. Recognizing the Unity of all and claiming this Unity for himself, establishes for man contact with Divinity. Man says: "There is one source from which all things come. The source is God. God is Spirit. God is Mind. I am one with the Spirit and Mind of God." ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
All power is Consciousness... think about it
July 13 ~ Sunday 2008
What could you not accept, if you but knew that everything that happens, all events, past, present, and to come, are gently planned by One Whose only purpose is your good? ~ A Course In Miracles
In back of time, space and change is MIND
July 12 ~ Saturday 2008
Don't think of God in terms of forms, because forms are limited and God is unlimited ~ C. S. Lewis
The Universe is abstract mind expressing itself to our ability to cognize
July 11 ~ Friday 2008
If you knew that everything that ever was exists within Mind, within the collective unconscious, and you, in Reality, as at One with that Mind, for it is in fact, in Truth, the MIND which is you, then access to the knowledge there is always at your disposal. Just learning and understanding the truth of this will change your life and the lives of others around you in the world. With inventions there is a quote which states: "an idea whose time has come". It all comes from the same place because in Reality there is only ONE place and that place is who you really are. Welcome to my world. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
I AM all there ever was and all there will ever be: I AM that I AM
July 10 ~ Thursday 2008
I have told you the real secret of life: God is not with mortals. Take it from there.
So if I see myself as a mortal, a human, a man, a person, where is God for me?
To know God aright is to be an Immortal. ~ author unknown (Wisdoms)
Know that our beliefs based on separateness are illusion while Oneness is the Truth which is now in back of time, space and change.
July 9 ~ Wednesday 2008
It is through the process of looking within that we first discover things about ourselves which we might otherwise not wish to perceive, however, this is not our true self, this is the false belief we have of ourselves and in back of that is the True Reality of the True Self that we are, as the I AM which is waiting to be realized and allow that wonderful Light to shine. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
I have not seen God though I knew God was there, I have seen God and God is everywhere,I have found God and myself at the same time, I have found Spirit and I have found Mind
July 8 ~ Tuesday 2008
It is this world which we watch like a play which unfolds outside of ourselves while, in fact, there is nothing there but a canvas bearing many colored patterns, which we have woven and printed in ourselves according to the indications of our erroneous knowledge. ~ The Secret Oral Teachings in Tibetan Buddhist Sects
The canvas of the universe is the mirror of Mind itself... think about it
July 7 ~ Monday 2008
On a spiritual path you must be open and listen, step back and observe, question and discover, interpret, wrestle and move away and breathe deeply, then return to being open. You can then again listen and continue to repeat this process while you learn and move up your own ladder as you discover your sense of self and who you really are and where you are going without becoming blindly dedicated to the self and wishes of someone else. Usually this means you have given up yourself to avoid making your own choices and doing your own work. This will only end up causing pain and suffering and will not achieve the success your observer self desires to achieve. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Listen to your inner voice and outer voice and learn to discern the difference
July 6 ~ Sunday 2008
We cannot base our reasoning upon false concepts and expect to arrive at a true conclusion. As long as the concept is false everything springing from that concept will be erroneous. ~ Alexander Keene (3 Steps To Heaven)
Forming a conclusion on Truth will chane your life, your world, your destiny
July 5 ~ Saturday 2008
As a man advances, or develops the right degree of understanding, the conscious mind should act automatically in giving instructions to the Sub-Conscious. That is---Truth should become established in the conscious mind to such a degree that it should be unnecessary to go through the process of an argument to convince the conscious mind that certain adverse conditions have no power to interfere in the life of the individual. ~ Erna Ferrell Grabe and Paul C. Ferrell (The Sub-Conscious Speaks, 1932)
As a man thinks within his subconscious, so is he
July 4 ~ Friday 2008

You must grasp sense testimony in order to let it go. Hold on and release. ~ D.L.
July 3 ~ Thursday 2008
Our errors are surely not such awfully solemn things. In a world where we are so certain to incur them in spite of all our caution, a certain lightness of heart seems healthier than this excessive nervousness on their behalf. ~ William James
Despite appearances, focus on the Truth of your Divine Reality. ~ D.L.
July 2 ~ Wednesday 2008
The world is collapsing all around us in various ways. Fear not. This is simply the outward expression of our consciousness as it is being dismantled to create a vacuum for the world yet to be which will reveal our True state of Consciousness as we are opening up to. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
As above, so below, as within, so without, as a being thinks, so it is
July 1 ~ Tuesday 2008
At this point in the on-going one must learn the lesson of Perseverance. For it does not mean arriving, but continuing to press forward, just as the tree, when it first puts its tiny head out of the ground is just as much of a success as in the day of its spreading branches; just as much of a Success in the day of its budding as in the hour of its fruiting. So Perseverance means pressing on when the goal is in sight and pressing on when the goal is not in sight. ~ Frances Wade Gott (Science of Being, 1923)
Know the Intention within and feel its unfolding even as you imagine in your mind ~ D.L.
