November Quote of the Day 2008
November 30 ~ 2008 there an invisible life force behind and within all that we see---all appearances---a life force and a transcendent intelligence that is ever seeking to find increasting expression of itself as greater life, better health, and complete wholeness? ~ Charles Roth (A New Way of Thinking, 1979)
So too does the mind, heart and soul become at ease, in harmony and at One with Reality
November 29 ~ 2008
The connecting of the dots of the Universal Matrix is the ultimate need. You must be able to see the whole picture if you are to understand the smaller picture. You cannot understand the larger picture by looking at the pieces. If you understand a coffee cup and it breaks you can more easily put the pieces back together than you can see a bunch of broken shards of pottery on the ground and imagine what it once was. It is about the macrocosm and the microcosm. We must understand what we perceive based on Wholeness, not on separateness. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
If God is all there is, who are you?
November 28 ~ 2008
When one realizes that their life isn't the way they wish it was and feel that there is something they can do to change it, from that moment on they begin a journey which signals the turning point toward who they really are. But the change is still necessary otherwise they are fooling themselves into thinking that wishful thinking alone can make them feel better. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
The taller you stand the more you resist the gravity of the earth
November 27 ~ 2008 ~ HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
When all the stars were ready to be placed in the sky First Woman said, "I will use these to write the laws that are to govern mankind for all time. These laws cannot be written on the water as that is always changing its form, nor can they be written in the sand as the wind would soon erase them, but if they are written in the stars they can be read and remembered forever." (from a Navajo creation story) ~ George Johnson (Fire In The Mind, 1995)
Build a foundation upon rock, not on sand ~ Yeshua
November 26 ~ 2008
Photons from the sun scattered by electrons in granite. For all the talk about the menagerie of particles locked inside the nuclei of atoms, the universe we directly experience is generated almost entirely through the play of electrons and photons, a dance whose steps are laid out in one of the supreme accomplishments of twentieth-century science, a theory called quantum electrodynamics, or QED. The theory ignores gravity and stops short of the nuclear frontier, but it is stunning how much is still encompassed within its grasp. We are electromagnetic creatures in an electromagnetic world, existing at the intersection between light and electricity. ~ George Johnson (Fire In The Mind, 1995)
How amazed some will be when they come to realize that light and electricity are manifestations of Mind and that it is Consciousness which is all there is operating in this world we call a mystery of the universe. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Q.M.I.)
Light is knowing and electricity is the connecting of the dots revealing Oneness
November 25 ~ 2008
That which does not kill me makes me stronger. ~ Nietzsche
And that which makes me stronger allows me another day to discover that which is true
November 24 ~ 2008
The prisoner who had lost faith in the future---his future---was doomed. With his loss of belief in the future, he also lost his spiritual hold; he let himself decline and became subject to mental and physical decay. ~ Victor Frankl (Man's Search For Meaning, 1963)
Living in the now also includes discovering the future which represents your potential
November 23 ~ 2008
We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms---to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way. ~ Victor Frankl (Man's Search For Meaning, 1963)
Reach into your Self and you will find the soul of others
November 22 ~ 2008
The 21st Century is here and it would seem that a new definition of God would be in order. Unfortunately it is those who do not believe in God who desire to hold sway over defining that Reality. There is so much that is misunderstood about the concept of God that it prevents lucid thinking on the subject in the academic world. God is that power or First Cause from which all that appears to exist does exist. It must be understood that Rene Descartes was one who made it clear and that it was in consciousness which allowed for existence at all. To be is to exist and to exist is to be. To think is to exist therefore it is thinking which is in back of Reality. Is it not function before form? It is not necessity that is the mother of invention? Consciousness in its ultimate sense is what we call God that we seldom realize and the truth of this Ultimate Source is that there is no matter, there are no minds separate from that Consciousness and all time, space and change is the illusion of the infinite ongoingness of Mind expressing itself out and back infinitely to Itself. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar, D.D., Ph.D. (Q.M.I. Quantum Metaphysics Institute)
As to the existence of hell, it remains the path of not knowing
November 21 ~ 2008
Fields are an integral part of matter and energy---the organizing factor---and it is an axiom that no integral part of an unannihilable whole can cease to exist. So, though fields may change their form, they cannot be annihilated. And this must apply to any kind of field, including the fields of thought. ~ E. W. Russel (Design For Destiny, 1973)
Consciousness is forever and MIND in the Absolute sense never ends
November 20 ~ 2008
Let us consider that we are all insane. It will explain us to each other. It will unriddle many riddles. ~ Mark Twain
Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love. ~ Martin Luther King, jr. (both quotes above from a recent Criminal Minds episode)
From insanity to sanity, from hatred and violence to love
November 19 ~ 2008
Let us submit to the grandeur of the imperishable Overself; even when we cannot understand it or grasp its Himalayan attitude, let us nevertheless yield mind and heart and body to its august behests. Thus we enter into undying life and gather the immortal fruits of truth, wisdom, peace and power. ~ Dr. Paul Brunton (The Secret Path: A Modern Technique for Self-Discovery, 1935)
To let go and to let be is the work within which shall set us free
November 18 ~ 2008
You are releasing an invisible power that has to come out here like that. Now that thing will fall into the dust and be gone but the Matrix of what it stands for will never be destroyed and can be reproduced a million, million, million times if you want to. And when you get the Matrix, when you see that, the Matrix then, you will perform, you will do that automatically. I don't care what it is. ~ Walter C. Lanyon (Christ Speaks, 1958)
The Matrix is the template of the Absolute Idea which is Eternal
November 17 ~ 2008
Religious Science is not the special revelation of any individual; it is, rather, the culmination of many revelations. We take the good wherever we find it, making it our own in so far as we understand it. The realization that good is universal and that as much good as any individual is able to incorporate in his life is his to use, is what constitutes the Science of Mind and Spirit. ~ Ernest Holmes (Religious Science, 1932)
Religious Science is the understanding of that fundamental reality which is in back of time, space and change
November 16 ~ 2008
The will is not creative but a directive force. It is an instrument of the intellect, not of the imagination. When the imagination and the will are in conflict the imagination invariably wins. This is because emotion strikes deeper into the well-springs of being than does the intellect. We do not will things to happen, and yet a man without will would be like a log adrift on a current. Use your will in making decisions and your feeling and imagination in backing them up. ~ Ernest Holmes and Alberta Smith (Questions and Answers on the Science of Mind, 1935)
Thinking and feeling are one working together Being
November 15 ~ 2008
Many people mistake positive thoughts for will-power. The most positive statement one could make would be to say, "I am a human being." He would not wave his hands, pound the table and scream such a statement. He has no doubt about his statement and no denial can alter it one particle. So it is with our affirmations about the nature of our being. It is not by screeching and screaming that we are, but it is in the quiet contemplation of that which we re that our strength is. ~ Ernest Holmes and Alberta Smith (Questions and Answers on the Science of Mind, 1935)
The nature of Being is to be the allness of reality
November 14 ~ 2008
There's a fog upon L.A. and my friends have lost their way. We'll be over soon they said, but they've lost themselves instead. Please don't be long, please don't you be very long. Please don't be long or I may be asleep. ~ George Harrison (Blue Jay Way, 1968)
When you're weary, feeling small, when tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;
I'm on your side. when times get rough and friends just can't be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down.
~ Paul Simon (A Bridge Over Troubled Waters, 1969)
Awaken all you who understand
November 13 ~ 2008
They said to him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" He said to them, "Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." ~ Jesus
Do not look at the faults of others, or what other have done or not done; observe what you yourself have done and have not done. ~ Buddha (Jesus and Buddha: The Parallel Sayings by Marcus Borg, 1997)
The Golden Thread weaves throughout the Universe
November 12 ~ 2008
The process of forgiveness means to "give for" a new awareness. Any time we need to forgive someone, it is not about blame beyond a certain point, but rather it is about realizing the role we played in attracting a situation into our life that resulted from patterns of thinking which created a blueprint for emotional upset. This has nothing to do with the other person as much as how we look within to let go of the pain and anger we have encountered on our journey to discover our self. In this way we can release the Being that is their Real Self as well as releasing the Being that is our own Real Self. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (The Joseph Release)
Feelings are always changing but Truth lasts forever
November 11 ~ 2008
Translation, as a Principle, is the process of changing one's consciousness by knowing what the Truth is and holding up what you believe and determining what the final Truth is. The conclusion becomes the shift in the paradigm of ideas which creates a new window through which our reality is now perceived. In this way you can move mountains, you can alter events, you can change your world. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Metanoia Matrix: The Principle of Translation)
Ideas live and die, Principle is Eternal
November 10 ~ 2008
There is a positive and a negative aspect in Bliss-consciousness. The negative aspect is the absence of pleasure-pain consciousness; the positive one is the transcendental state of a superior calm, including within itself the consciousness of a great expansion and that of "all in One and One in all." It has its degrees. An earnest truthseeker gets a little taste of it, a seer or a prophet is filled with it. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda (The Science of Religion, 1953)
When you die, it is just like here, only different ~ D.L.
November 9 ~ 2008
Your mind, which is yourself, can be likened to a house which the accumulation of years has cluttered with thousands of unnecessary pieces of furniture, pictures, ornaments and other things, all strewn around and heaped everywhere, with the result that while the outside of that house might present a good appearance, the inside is a mass of confusion and disorder. How utterly impossible to accomplish anything under such conditions, for you cannot go after one thing without stumbling over another. No order. No purpose. No progress. The first necessary move, then, is to rid that house of all but the furnishings essential to success. ~ John McDonald (The Message of The Master, 1929)
Truth is simplicity, so too is consciousness, breathe in and let it go
November 8 ~ 2008
I think the truly natural things are dreams, which nature can't touch with decay. ~ Bob Dylan
Not a word was spoke between us, there was little risk involved. Everything up to that point had been left unresolved. Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." ~ Bob Dylan (Shelter From The Storm)
Wake up from the dream, as if you're newly born,
Form no conclusions but infinity and know there is no storm
November 7 ~ 2008
Why is the Inner mind thus thwarted in every move it makes toward accomplishment? Why? Because the Outer judges everything by what the eye and ear reports and transmits that message to the Inner. What do we find humanity doing? We find them taking pictures of what they experience daily in the outer world, developing the sensitized film, then printing those pictures upon themselves within. The procedure should be just the reverse. ~ John McDonald (The Message of The Master, 1929)
That which we perceive is merely what we believe to be reality... look again, look within. ~ D.L.
November 6 ~ 2008
In this spiritual awakening, in this sublime regeneration, the ego within realizes the heavy steel grip of earth life, and in his sense of bitter estrangement in the world, he would, at any cost, break loose from this earth life were it not for the realization of his evolutionary advancement or for his divine mission in the world. ~ Hanna Jacob Doumette (The Sun of Higher Understanding, 1929)
Today you must know that materiality is the shadow of divine perception ~ D.L.
November 5 ~ 2008
A time of change can be a good thing. But one must dedicate themselves to changing within or the world will crush you in its movement contrary to your static path. You will experience pressure and stress from without when you need to deal with your issues. The only answer is to face yourself and let go of erroneous beliefs. You must begin to study "Truth" as it pertains to a spiritual universe there just waiting to be discovered. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Today you must know it is no mystery you have read this at this time
November 4 ~ 2008
Americans love their democracy. Of this there can be no doubt. As to why they love it, the answer is less clear. Granted, as Churchill said, it is the worst system of political rule, except for all the others; but to say it is better than totalitarianism is not exactly a strong compliment. Beating out monarchism isn't clearing a very high bar, either. A general thrust of democratic theory, as explained to all those paying attention in high-school civics classes, is that under democracy "we the people" are the rules-makers; our representatives make rules that reflect our common judgment about how we want society to run. There are, however, some problems with that theory. ~ Ross Levatter (Garbage In, Democracy Out)
Today you must vote, not just for yourself, but for your country
November 3 ~ 2008
After a dark, violent age, the Piscean, we are entering a millennium of love and light -- in the words of the popular song "the Age of Aquarius," the time of "the mind's true liberation." ~ Marilyn Ferguson (The Aquarian Age Conspiracy, 1980) In memory of Marilyn Ferguson, 1938 ~ 2008.
This New Age requires no external leader but rather a leadership gene within the heart ~ D.L.
November 2 ~ 2008
The Transcendentalists supposedly threatened the older order with their "new ideas"; but the ideas were not new, only the prospect of applying them in a society. The eclectic Transcendentalists had drawn not only from Quaker and Puritan traditions but also from German and Greek philosophers and Eastern religions. Although they were charged with having contempt for history, they replied that humankind could be liberated from history. ~ Marilyn Ferguson (The Aquarian Age Conspiracy: Personal and social Transformation in Our Time, 1980)
History isn't what is going to happen, but what actually happens
November 1 ~ 2008
But it is probable that the New Age, the Aquarian Age, will not come of itself. We ourselves must help to make it come, and to do this, the monstrous evils of this world, so deeply entrenched in our social and military systems, can no longer go unchallenged. "Resist not evil" may on some levels and at some times be a valid commandment, but, like "The meek shall inherit the earth" on other levels it, too, encourages the persistence of evil. ~ Gina Cerminara (Insights for the Age of Aquarius, 1973)
Step forth into the light where the shadow dissolves into the nothingness of illusion ~ D.L.
