YOU ARE BEING saved countless lives upon Earth. To encompass this learning all we have to know is that these higher truths, as they are revealed, are THE TRUTH. We have passed through much learning, many teachings, doubts, questionings, assurances, and now we are ready to accept PURE KNOWING. It is truly something to wear like a precious jewel. By our warmth and pure affection we give to those we love, and thereby gain greater understanding of this wonderful Law of Love which is the new way of life. We are blessed. I thrill at the very thought of being in the vanguard of this new and wonderful knowing. ~ John Raymond Berry (The Golden Thread)

The world of appearances is the blackboard upon which humanity writes its beliefs. Because a thing is on the blackboard (realm of appearances) is no sign it is true. One has to go back to the Principle of Being to be able to discriminate as to the correctness of statement. Anything may be written out on the blackboard of life, anything one thinks, be it truth or error. The blackboard (realm of appearances) is not the source of correct information. For instance: two plus two is not three even if it be so written on the blackboard. Is it? No, and furthermore, there is no such thing in reality. However, it is your knowledge of principle that gives you this discrimination, not appearances. It is the knowledge of the truth as it really is that keeps you from being deceived by what you see on the blackboard. If you had not the understanding of your mathematical principle you would not know whether two plus two equals four or three. Written out on the blackboard one is just as evident as the other. It is therefore obvious that you cannot judge by what you see. Before we can displace the old, false states of consciousness with true states of consciousness, we must find the Principle of our Being from which to reason, because you have just seen that it is knowledge of Principle and not appearances which gives to us true discrimination. Knowledge of truth shall give you right answers to your problems, not appearances. "Judge not according to appearances" must be strictly adhered to in the application of Truth. Now for the application. A multiplication table must not only be known but also applied. The secret is to believe only in God --- the One life which is perfect. "Only" means only. On one occasion Jesus was asked by his disciples how they might do the works. He answered, 'Believe ONLY in God. Can you deny disease not to get rid of it but because it is not and never was an absolute truth? If you deny it to get rid of it, all the time you are denying it you are believing you have it, are you not? Real denial is to see there is nothing in reality to deny. It is only an appearance. ~ Frances Wade Gott (The Science of Being, 1923)

What exactly is a psychic experience and how can we make this work for us or at least have an experience like that? I have had many psychic experiences in my life. Of course they can be defined different ways. But in terms of reading one's thoughts, I have done that but never consciously. I do sometimes set out to receive what I need, say, a line in a book or attract it in some way and it will happen. Not always. But one achieves this best if they are on a path where they set out to clear their mind and their consciousness of clutter. Your subconscious mind will not prove to be nearly as useful if you have a lot of unresolved issues. This is why setting out to raise your consciousness is the answer to anything you might wish or desire. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Q.M.I.)
Tomorrow is another opportunity to decide you want more...

“I think life is something that is handed to you on a silver platter, and it is up to you (me) to do something with it.” This answer touched off a long discussion about the phrase “on a silver platter”, including a reference by Gurdjieff to the head of John the Baptist. I retreated—it felt like a retreat—and modified the phrase to the effect that life was a “gift”, and this seemed to please him.
The second question (What do you want to know?) was simpler to answer. My words were: “I want to know everything.”
Gurdjieff replied immediately: “You cannot know everything. Everything about what?”
I said: “Everything about man, ” and then added: “In English I think it is called psychology or maybe philosophy.”
He sighed then, and after a short silence said: “You can stay. But your answer makes life difficult for me. I am the only one who teaches what you ask. You make more work for me.” ~ Fritz Peters (Boyhood With Gurdjieff)

"Wholeness is flowing movement. With the hologram, the movement of interference patterns of coherent light enfolds a subtle range of structures and orders. In a similar, but unthinkably vaster, way, the whole movement or "holomovement" of the universe carries the implicate order and allows us to see and experience our four-dimensional space-time world." ~ Briggs and Peat, Looking Glass Universe
"The apparent world is a creation of the observer. "It is this world which we watch like a play which unfolds outside of ourselves while, in fact, there is nothing there but a canvas bearing many colored patterns, which we have woven and printed in ourselves according to the indications of our erroneous knowledge." ~ The Secret Oral Teachings in Tibetan Buddhist Sects

In a home that has been affected by alcoholism, the child's needs are not totally unmet, but they are inconsistently met. This means that trust people will mean being hurt, and therefore that trust is inappropriate. It means that the child must learn how to take care of himself. In order to survive, the child learns how not to trust... that he can depend only on himself. If someone is trustworthy, it is the exception rather than the rule. When there is an expectation, it is most often met by frustration and disappointment. "Don't Trust" is something that the child learns very early and very well. However, contrary to the child's nature, it is an adaptive response to a maladaptive situation. ~ Janet G. Woititz (Struggle For Intimacy) author of Adult Children of Alcoholics

How dissonant the I of the ego sounds! When it issues from tragic lips, tense with some self-contradiction that they try to hold back, it can move us to great pity. When it issues from chaotic lips that savagely, heedlessly, unconsciously represent contradiction, it can make us shudder. When the lips are vain and smooth, it sounds embarrassing or disgusting. Those who pronounce the severed I, wallowing in the capital letter, uncover the shame of the world spirit that has been debased to mere spirituality. But how beautiful and legitimate the vivid and emphatic I of Socrates sounds! It is the I of infinite conversation, and the air of conversation is present on all its ways, even before his judges, even in the final our in prison. This I lived in that relation to man which is embodied in conversation. ~ Martin Buber (I and Thou)

"Mind is the Master Power that moulds and makes
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The Tool of thought, and shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills;

Environment is but his looking glass.

Whether through psychedelic short-cut or via the awesome self-discipline of Zen, the search is universal, if at times self-defeating and psychologically destructive. There is simply no energy left for doctrinal hairsplitting, or even for church-related social and political action. The search is the main thing. But it has to be narrowed to some kind of a view of revitalized structuring. At the same time, in the mind-boggling plurality of religious forums today, there is a chance for every man to expand his God-consciousness and pursue his quest even as if through a glass darkly. ~ Thane of Hawaii (Leap Into Sanity, 1971)
Be still and know that "I AM" God... Psalms 46:10

"In religious experience also," writes Aniela Jaffe, "man meets himself, or rather, he meets the self. The distinction between appearance and an 'objective' reality hidden behind it calls for deepened insight and heightened consciousness." It is now, when the 'I' and the outside world are no longer so separate, when the myth of Objective Fact evaporates to reveal the vastness of things as curiously related to myself, that religion and science begin to blend. ~ Lawrence Blair (Rhythms Of Vision, 1975)
If the universe was words and the formulas were thoughts the boundaries of forever would forever be lost

I AM immortal --- I AM not of this world --- I AM birthless --- ageless --- deathless --- without beginning or ending. I AM born of Spirit---I AM Spirit---I make myself as God, even as did Jesus --- thereby assuming his true identity. I AM immortal. Created in the image and likeness of God, with dominion over all things, all things are placed under my immortal Self. I AM immortal, created a little lower than the angels (the power which flows direct from the Godhead into expression). ~ Walter C. Lanyon (Without The Smell of Fire, 1941)

Leonardo da Vinci: "Everybody placed in the luminous air spreads out in circles and fills the surrounding space with infinite likeness of itself and appears all in all and all in every part."
The flower garland sutra echoes this mystical tradition... "In the heaven of hidra, there is said to be a network of pearls, so arranged that if you look at one you see all the others reflected in it. In the same way each object in the world is not merely itself but involves every other object, and in fact is every other object."
And Krishnamurti's theme: "You are the world, the observer is the observed." Unlike the looking-glass scientists he takes this insight directly into the realms of psychology, spirit, and the human condition. He offers no methodology for salvation, instead insisting that it is our search for methodologies that leads to fragmentation. He insists that if each individual will give attention to the fragmentations in his own consciousness, he will alter the consciousness of mankind." above related by John P. Briggs, Ph.D., F. David Peat, Ph.D. (in The Looking Glass Universe)
Similarly Jesus said: "Why do you observe the splinter in your brother's eye and never notice the plank in your own? How dare you say to your brother, 'Let me take the splinter out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own? ...Take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly enough to take the splinter out of your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:3-5)
This is the translation of appearances by seeing the whole, the true. To translate is to perceive reality in its complete and whole state rather than by believing the fragmented ideas which appear to us as sense testimony. This process of "translating" is a natural process which is seeing clearly. It is to perceive lucidly. Like David Bohm's implicate and explicate the looking glass theory unfolds perfectly. Since the beginning of time man has looked at wholeness and divided it up to discover the parts. To "translate" is the process by which one can perceive the parts and rediscover the wholeness. This is the discovering of the whole truth, and in doing that the truth will make you free. ~ Derek Lamar

Often in his early acquaintance with a person, Gurdjieff would hit upon one or both of two "nerves" which produced agitation. These were the "pocketbook nerve" and the "sex nerve." He would, as our slang goes, "put the bee on somebody for some dough," or he might, as he did with one priest from Greece, egg him on to tell a series of ribald jokes. The event often proved that he didn't need the money he had been begging for. As for the poor priest, when he had outdone himself with an anecdote, Gurdjieff deflated him with the disgusted remark, "Now you are dirty!" and turned away. "I wished to show him he was not true priest," Gurdjieff said afterwards. To go for the "pocketbook nerve" or the "sex nerve" was to take a short cut to a person's psychology; instead of working through the surfaces, Gurdjieff immediately got beneath them. "Nothing shows up people so much," he once said, "as their attitude toward money." ~ Gorham Munson (Black Sheep Philosophers: TAT Journal, originally appeared in Tomorrow magazine, February, 1950)

If there is hope, or a fervent belief, Krishnamurti is right in saying that it should be challenged and tested with the question, "Why do you want to believe that? Is it because you are afraid of dying, of coming to an end? Is this identification with the cosmic Self the last desperate resort of your ego to continue its game?" Indeed, if this Supreme Identity is, for me, a belief to which I am clinging, I am in total self-contradiction. Not only is there no sense in clinging to what I am; the very act of clinging also implies that I do not really know that I am it! Such belief is merely doubt dressed up. The final meaning of negative theology, of knowing God by unknowing, of the abandonment of idols both sensible and conceptual, is that ultimate faith is not in or upon anything at all. It is complete letting go. ~ Alan Watts (Beyond Theology / The Gospel According To Zen)

YOU have always lived: "Before Abraham was, I AM." "When all things shall cease to be I AM." You, man, wrote the Bible. You may have forgotten it, but if you meditate on its passages, the subjective self within you will reveal to your conscious mind what you meant, when YOU wrote it thousands of years ago. Time is an illusion, God is the eternal NOW. Thousands of years are as an instant. Aeons are as a day. ~ Joseph Murphy (This Is It: The Art of Metaphysical Demonstration, 1945)

Your mind creates your universe. Your expectations, demands, hopes, fears, addictions, motivations, past experience, your language system, your individual accumulation of ideas, theories, and intellectuall stuff, your emotions, the structure and functioning of your nervous system and the feedback from your entire body all interact in a complex way to produce your perceptions---the "picture" you create from the energies you receive through your various senses from people and things around you. Your perceptions are thus a joint phenomenon of the observer and the observed. ~ Ken Keyes, Jr. (Handbook To Higher Consciousness, 1972)

The person who has a feeling of prosperity has a feeling that life is working with him and not against him. The prosperity state of mind can produce not only an abundance of wealth but health and right action as well. When one arrives at an awareness of prosperity it flows over into every part of that person's experience so that he or she is prosperous over-all. One becomes prosperous in business, in family relationships, in romantic relationships and, generally, good health is part of the package. Money is not the only evidence of prosperity thinking but it surely is one of the many by-products of a prosperity state of mind. ~ Jack and Cornelia Addington (All About Prosperity And How You Can Prosper, 1984)

All the old traditions tell us that there is more than one path to the Great Goal. Just as there is more than one road up every great mountain, and yet all roads meet at the top, so in the Spiritual Quest there are several roads, all of which lead in due season to the One Great End. There is the path of knowledge. True knowledge of Divine things is one of the appointed paths to attainment; but that path is by no means for everyone. And there is the pathway of action -- of organized activity, perhaps one had better say -- and the world needs this too; but this again usually calls for a special gift, and special circumstances in which to apply it. And there are others. The shortest and the easiest pathway of all is the Pathway of Love. This really is the Royal Road to the attainment of the Great Goal. It is the simplest of all the paths, and it is the most direct and the easiest too. And it is the one pathway which is open to all, everywhere, irrespective of what their personal conditions or surrounding circumstances may be. For everyman, everywhere, the true Initiation, through the Yoga of Love, awaits every day. ~ Emmet Fox (The Yoga of Love, 1933)

The world is full of mysteries and the mysteries are also within us. Actually the same mysteries are within us because in Reality we are Consciousness, we are Mind and everything we experience happens in our mind. We are the same Mind which makes all thoughts visible and though we believe that we live in a physical universe, that is all an illusion. And coming to "Know" that will set you free. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar

In the beginning, there was neither existence nor nonexistence, all this world was unmanifest energy... The One breathed, without breath, by Its own power, Nothing else was there... ~ Rig-Veda
In modern times, this verse tells us that God can only be found in a virtual state, where all energy is stored before creation. Physics has struggled hard with this state that comes before time and space, and so has popular imagination. It may surprise many to learn that the familiar image of God as a patriarch in a white robe seated on his throne has little authority, even in Judaic scripture. The image appears only once, in the Book of Daniel, whereas we are told many times in the books of Moses that God is without human form. ~ Deepak Chopra, M.D. (How To Know God, 2000)
The physical attributes about God are the same about us, and they are not actually real either but it is all Consciousness... DL

The metaphysical leap is what happens to us when our priorities shift and the invisibles become as real or more real to us as the visibles. After experiencing the metaphysical leap, we become simultaneously aware that we have a physical presence or self and an essential spiritual or invisible presence, as though we have a Self that is observing our self. Once that leap has taken place, life is never quite the same because all kinds of alternatives become possible. Material limitations are no longer so inhibiting, and the invisible power of consciousness to transform the visible material scene becomes an experiential reality. ~ Walter Starcke (It's All God, 1998)
The "Observer Self" in its lucid awareness is the "I AM" Self and this is the next level of Reality... DL

There is nothing outside you. That is what you must ultimately learn, for it is the realization that the Kingdom of Heaven is restored to you. For God created only this, and He did not depart from it nor leave it separate from Himself. The Kingdom of Heaven is the dwelling place of the Son of God, who left not his Father and dwells not apart from Him. Heaven is not a place nor a condition. It is merely an awareness of perfect oneness, and the knowledge that there is nothing else; nothing outside this oneness, and nothing else within. ~ A Course In Miracles (Chapter 18: The Passing of the Dream, page 358-359)

"...the Science of the Masters does not permit the awakening of the kundalini until the disciple has gained self-control and mental purity. It cannot be done until that inner cleansing has taken place. This is a vital point. By the system of the Saints all development is attained by a natural, slow growth and reconstruction. It is not a forced process; and for that reason it sometimes takes longer to see the light on this path than upon that of the yogi. But in the long run, this path of the Masters leads upward by a much more rapid climbing than can possible be done on the yogi path, and it leads to heights never dreamed of by the yogi. The student of the Masters unfolds his powers as easily, as naturally, as a flower opens its petals to the sunlight. This path may therefore be followed, and its exercises may be practiced by any one, from childhood to old age. Of course this work must be done under the supervision of a living Master. That must never be forgotten. If any one presumes to go his own way alone... he is foredoomed to failure. If you have all of the knowledge in the world, and have not a Master, you have nothing." ~ Julian Johnson, M.A., B.D., M.D. (The Path Of The Masters, 1939

We come now to a consideration of voluntary suffering --- suffering that we are willing to take on in order that our own lives can be fully realized and in order that the world may be fully realized. But these are acts of creation, and creation involves risk --- a painful dying to who we are now, a sacrifice of the known so that the unknown, uncertain new can come. This is why we do not change very often. Those who participate in change must participate in death, burial, and resurrection. ~Elizabeth O'Connor (Our Many Selves: A Handbook For Self-Discovery, 1971)

The emerging new image of the human being is in large part a result of a movement under way to shift from preoccupation with the separation of reality into parts to an increased awareness of the essential unity of all reality. I believe we will move even beyond a sense of unity to the realization that reality is actually synergetic in nature. ~ L. Robert Keck (The Spirit of Synergy)
To cultivate one's soul is then the quest that will back up the skills of the eyes, the ears, the hands and the body with the synergetic power of the mind and ultimately will cast aside the cages of separateness. Separateness is a peculiar invention of man and it is a menace to his position within the evolving universe...... Science and religion are coming together as ideas because they are not philosophical enemies. If there are spiritual truths it is only obvious that eventually science will not only confirm them to be true but also spirituality will begin to reveal abstract concepts which form a grid of scientific ideas and make sense out of what has been a philosophical art rather than a real science. The concept of “Intelligent Design” might seem to some to be a veiled attempt at opening the door to religious ideas in a secular community but we need to step back and consider the actual meaning to those words and how they might further 21st century science. In beginning to understand the holographic nature of our universe we can see the Intelligence and the Design as we began to really perceive life as thoughts and ideas within a Super Intelligence that is the actual Intention within us all. This Intelligence is “Mind knowing itself” and equally stated it would be “I AM”. The full understanding of that is “I AM that I AM” or “I am the result of myself” being the formula for ultimate existence and can be touched by nothing but the love that it represents. This love is the power of knowing the Oneness of the Self that heals and affirms Reality. It is Consciousness conscious of Consciousness. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Spiritual Psychology)
I AM that I AM = I AM the result of myself = Consciousness conscious of Consciousness... DL
