At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want. ~ Lao Tzu
There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. ~ Carl Gustav Jung
If you make a mistake, admit it and get on with it. ...The whole spiritual journey is a continual falling on your face. And you get up and brush yourself off, and get on with it. If you were perfect, you wouldn't be on the journey. ~ Ram Das
...One Mind constantly changing clothes... D.L.

Now you can say, "I know that I AM! I know that my health, my harmony, my perfection, my happiness, and my abundance of every good are not located in my body or in my affairs, but only in my real Self -- myself awake -- the I-Am-Self. Here abide my unalterable, undefilable health and wholeness; my perfect spiritual senses and their distinct activities; my ever conscious awareness of Reality as all there is; and my complete experience of every good thing. ~ Lillian DeWaters (The "I AM THAT I AM", 1938)
...is to be released from this human dream

Look for the answer inside your question. ~ Rumi
It is all "out and back" and "within and without"... D.L.

Certain teachings compare man to a house of four rooms. Man lives in one room, the smallest and poorest of all, and until he is told of it, he does not suspect the existence of the other rooms which are full of treasures. When he does learn of this he begins to seek the keys to these rooms and especially the fourth, the most important, room. And when a man has found his way into this room he really becomes the master of his house, for only then does the house belong to him wholly and forever. ~ G. I. Gurdjieff (20th Century Mystic)
Find the key... for a change... D.L.

Our character...is an omen of our destiny, and the more integrity we have and keep, the simpler and nobler that destiny is likely to be. ~ George Santayana (1863-1952)
There is no cure for birth and death save to enjoy the interval. ~ George Santayana (1863-1952)
Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. In the first stage of life the mind is frivolous and easily distracted, it misses progress by failing in consecutiveness and persistence. This is the condition of children and barbarians, in which instinct has learned nothing from experience. ~ George Santayana (1863-1952)
Observe others often, yourself always...D.L.

"In our seeking and searching for God, we are suffering from the same kind of insanity, because we have never left our Father's house. When we search for the Presence and the Power of God to dissolve our discords and inharmonies, we are in a state of humanhood as unnatural as the fish seeking the ocean! As long as we seek for a God or a Truth or a treatment or a prayer to relieve us of our problems, just that long will our problems remain with us. We will continue to be overwhelmed with the discords and inharmonies of this world until we achieve this spiritual discernment: 'I am already in the secret place of the Most High. I am living and moving and having my being in God, and I am about my Father's business.'" ~ Joel Goldsmith
I AM reveals the Infinity of Mind and continues...

As to knowing your students in advance of their arrival: "Many people have had or possess this 'psychic' ability of recognition but it is not sufficient in itself. Equally important, the guru must be capable of transmitting 'his great light to light the pupil's little seed of light.' This he must do with the most 'extraordinary inspiration' that defies, or, at times, ignores all the usual teaching practices. Seldom does the pupil come to the guru in 'accepted ways' and the guru must maintain, as a part of 'his business,' a constant alertness in the most unexpected places, so he will perceive, and, unconsciously on the part of the pupil, awaken the desire to aspire. ~ Thane Walker (The Teacher Whispers, compiled by Norma Keller)
Our mental training should consist first in bringing to our attention the most positive words we are capable of understanding, as being a part of our relationship with the infinite. ~ Eloi-Sun (Old Wine In New Bottles, 1936, Honolulu)
The dawn of Light is the dawn of Christ in the individual heart. ~ Eloi-Sun

Truth is the match which sets the soul on fire. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar

Allah Jallay Shan (Allah Is Great And Glorious)
Praise to you, there is no end for you. If there is any example of you then there is no example of you at all. (No one is like you) It's your perfection in the everything of this world which is perfect. You are the most glorious of all the glorious. Our beloved Prophet Mohammed is the very respectful reference of your introduction. O, Allah the greatest, the most glorious. (O, Allah) You are the highest of the highest. Your every word is chosen and selected. Genies, angels and human beings all praise you, oh my Lord. (O, Allah) Fill up my empty begging sack. Shower your mercy and benevolence upon me. You are the only King who fills the sacks of beggars. O, Allah! The greatest, the most glorious. ~ Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Sufi Music in Pakistan called Qawwali)
I AM the messenger, I AM the bee... for a change
Tell us Allah 'bout it. Qawwali gotta shout it. Allah is great, so divine, lost in mercy beyond space and time. ~ D.L.

If we choose to believe we are helpless victims and that it's all hopeless, then the Universe will support us in that belief, and we will just go down the drain. It is vital that we release these foolish, outmoded, negative ideas and beliefs that do not support us and nourish us. Even our concept of God needs o be one that is for us, not against us. ~ Louise L. Hay (You Can Heal Your Life, 1984)
Reality is what we aren't seeing when we have a problem... DL

Exchanging the false concept for the true does not do away with or deny the body but redeems the body by destroying the misconception or "invention" of the carnal, natural man and reveals the true spiritual identity of body. ~ Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, Mary Baker Eddy's mentor (circa 1860 from the book: Phineas Parkhurst Quimby by Ann Ballew Hawkins, 1951)
The process of thinking is the one underlying cause in the life of man, and we became master of our life when we understand that man is spiritual, and bring our thought process under scientific control. ~ Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, Mary Baker Eddy's mentor (circa 1860 from the book: Phineas Parkhurst Quimby by Ann Ballew Hawkins, 1951)
Truth is that which is so and that which is not so is the "false concept" which returns to the nothingness from whence it came being that "it is not so, therefore it isn't" and in coming to a conclusion therefore that truth is all there is becomes the "thought process" which becomes the formula of the "scientific control". ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
Watch the patterns in all things and see what is true and what is false

Space is a level of experience that any of us can reach, but it is difficult to talk about on our present plane precisely because it is unlimited. It is that which chooses limits and makes definitions. We might say: all experiences are available to the One Mind, and the One Mind is all of us or any of us at the highest level of expansion. Or we might theorize: God could not create anything more limited than Himself that would persist, but if He duplicates Himself, He can enjoy a persistent universe. Each entity, therefore, is a duplicate of God, "made in His image." ~ Thaddeus Golas (The Lazy Man's Guide To Enlightenment, 1971)
All is One and All is God - All is Mind and Mind is All - All mental activity is One...

Consciousness cannot be confined to egocentric self-concepts. Existential identity is practical in terms of coping with the ordinary tasks of living in the world, just as Newtonian physics is practical for building bridges. However, exclusive identification with the existential self as an independent entity makes no sense in view of states of consciousness that transcend ordinary space/time limitations and operate in a reality that is more aptly described in the language of subatomic physics. ~ Frances Vaughan, The Inward Arc (The Holotropic Mind by Stanislav Grof, M.D.)
Science which is discovered with the mind, should be understood as the discovery of mind and not of matter

A major problem for all forms of psychotherapy is to motivate the patient to do what needs to be done. He must return to "unfinished business" which he left unfinished in the past because it was so painful that he had to flee. Now, if he is encouraged to go back and finish it, it is still painful; it reactivates his misery, and from the short-run view, it is still to be avoided. How can he be kept at the task --- ultimately, how can he keep himself at the task --- when there is such a quantity of unpleasantness to live through? ~ Perls, M.D., Ph.D., Frederick, Hefferline, Ph.D., Ralph F., Goodman, Ph.D., Paul, 1951(Gestalt Therapy )
You know it can't harm you to feel your own pain ~ John Lennon (I Found Out)

Dignity consists not in possessing honors, but in the consciousness that we deserve them. ~ Aristotle
To be upset over what you don't have is to waste what you do have. ~ Ken S. Keyes, Jr. (Handbook to Higher Consciousness)

The rank and file of today's physicists were willing to accept the bizarre nature of the quantum world at face value because the mathematics, such as the Schrodinger equation, works so well, but shook their heads at the counter-intuitiveness of it all. How could electrons be in touch with everything at once? How could an electron not be a set single until it is examined or measured? How, in fact, could anything be concrete in the world, if it was a will o' the wisp once you started looking at it? ~ Lynne McTaggart (The Field: The Quest for The Secret Force of The Universe, 2002)
Then again, how can there be a thought about a wave if it wants to surf a particle?... DL

The answer is simply that you have never focused your desire into one great dominating desire. You have a host of mild desires. You mildly wish you were rich, you wish you had a position of responsibility and influence, you wish you could travel at will. The wishes are so many and varied that they conflict with each other and you get nowhere in particular. You lack one intense desire, to the accomplishment of which you are willing to subordinate everything else. The time you put in, in aimless dreaming and wishing would accomplish marvels if it were concentrated on one definite object. If you have ever taken a magnifying glass and let the sun's rays play through it on some object, you know that as long as the rays were scattered they accomplished nothing. But focus them on one tiny spot and see how quickly they start something. It is the same way with your mind. You've got to concentrate on one idea at a time. ~ Robert Collier (The Book of Life, 1925)
Watch the light and concentrate on the allness of it...

What happens in "Closed Class" is what often happens in personal transformation. The students within the class are symbolic of ideas within the Teacher. As Truth is discussed and steps are walked through and ideas emerge false concepts are discussed there is a change in consciousness which moves the room up an octave. This is a Metanoia in teaching and personal development. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Q.M.I.)
Combining metaphysics, ontology, fourth way and quantum is a power house of creative transformation... D.L.

People misunderstand "positive thinking" and "visualization." The argument is always something framed in concrete terms and examples given that imply an impossibility of completion and always structuring in a limited human perspective. "Visualization" is not a competitive sport nor does that mean it will not work for you in that way. It is not about beating someone else, it is about being the best YOU can. That is what makes a winner. However humans more often than not visualize in a negative manner and they usually get what they fear. The quote is "what you fear comes upon you." And this comes from Job in the Bible where it reads: "For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me." But also in Proverbs 23:7 we can read: "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he." Also in the New Testament one can read that "What you sow, you shall reap." In other words you get back what you put out whether it be your actions or the subconscious thoughts within your heart which attracts similar situations that mirror that deep-seated thinking or feeling. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Q.M.I.)
And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make... Lennon/McCartney

Do we not ever question what appears to be "the death of psychology" and "the minimalization of mysticism?" Our culture is shrouded by our blindness even as we usher in some new technique and dress it up for celebrity, and yet whether we toss out the word "quantum" or predict a new process and a grand new personality arrives on the scene, we still walk away feeling empty and without the desire to do our own "Work?" Reach down deep within yourself and ask whether or not you are willing to look at yourself and change in order that you might taste the glory and fire within. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Q.M.I.)
You will love yourself as you love others if you do... DL

...wave-like images... calls to mind one of the pivotal questions that plagued quantum physics in the 1920s: Is matter (electrons) made of particles or waves? It seemed made of both. In 1924 physicist de Broglie proposed a revolutionary conception: that electrons possessed a dual nature; that they could be both a wave and particle. ~ Stephen Wolinsky (Quantum Consciousness: The Guide To Experiencing Quantum Psychology,1993... quotes below continue and are taken from this book)
Yoga Sutras describe thoughts as waves:
"Patangali defines thought as a wave (vritti) in the mind. Ordinarily a thought-wave arises, remains in the mind for a moment, and then subsides, to be succeeded by another wave." (Isherwood, 1953:121-122)
In The Philosopher's Stone, F. David Peat wrote:
"The only conceivable conclusion was that electrons have a dual schizophrenic existence. Design an experiment that looks for particle-like behavior, and the electron behaves like a particle. Design one that looks like a wave, and it behaves like a wave." (Peat, 1991:12)
Waves and particles, feelings and ideas, one and infinite

The problem with unity and variety, of the one and the many, has plagued most men and all philosophers. The mind perceives both unity and variety, and yearns for both -- even for both at once. We pride ourselves on our individuality, but ache to be merged into our social group -- to be accepted, approved, loved. Yet the more we conform ourselves in order to be accepted, the more we lose the individuality which was the thing for which we craved acceptance. ~ Bradford Smith (Meditation)
To understand Truth is to realize that it is "One" and it is "Infinite". It is a very zen sort of thing. One might say that "God is the roaring wind and the stillness in the hollow of my heart." Truth is infinitely One. It is whole and complete therefore ONE but also it is Infinite thus it is infinitely whole and complete. We strive to become ONE in a spiritual sense because we innately know this is Truth and yet we do not choose to give up uniqueness because we are infinite variety expressing the Eternity and Divinity we are to our self completely and forever. We do not give up anything except the limitations which the human mind bestows upon us by anthropomorphizing the Reality which is our only identity. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar (Q.M.I.)
I AM ONE expressing myself in infinite variety...

The ancient Yogis, having understood the power of the mind to alter matter and seemingly transcend the fixed laws of nature, were very careful not to call too many phenomena miracles. They understood that even as this world is made of energy (prana), thought, and atomic matter, the mind of human beings with its power of thought can effect change in the world. This power, however, is not miraculous as no laws of nature are broken. Nor is there any necessity to assume the intervention of a deity or powerful being that was required to alter the laws of nature. ~ Sankara Saranam
Modern physicists like Bohm and Eddington, echoing the voices of the ancient Yogis, have theorized that the underlying fabric of the universe is thought. How better than with concentrated thoughts might one restructure an existence based on thought? While one lone believer may have very little thought power, most of the miracles of the world's giant religions are the result of the accumulated thoughts and expectations of millions of people over many years. Their occurrence has more to do with the power behind belief than the power behind spiritual or religious authenticity. ~ Sankara Saranam

If you cannot be at ease with yourself when alone, you will seek a relationship to cover up your unease. You can be sure that the unease will then reappear in some other form within the relationship, and you will probably hold your partner responsible for it. ~ Eckhart Tolle
Self-importance is man's greatest enemy. What weakens him is feeling offended by the deeds and misdeeds of his fellow men. Self-importance requires that one spend most of one's life offended by something or someone. ~ Don Juan
Separateness is at the root of all comparisons

"To know the Absolute Truth is to be able to change facts. To change facts is called demonstration. The Absolute Truth is that which eternally is. there can be no such thing as thatwhich is not, hence the Truth is all there really is." ~ Frances Wade Gott (Science of Being)
"In 1964 Dr. John S. Bell published a demonstration that still has the physicists reeling. What Bell seemed to prove was the Quantum effects are 'non-local' in Bohm's sense; that is, they are not just here or there, but both. What this apparently means is that space and time are only real to our mammalian sense organs; they are not really real." ~ Robert Anton Wilson
Tuesday ~ March 6, 2012
In fact, quantum physics accurately describes all physical phenomena. The rough, classical physics that we are accustomed to using when talking about the everyday world about us is just a good approximation (an approximation that works well at certain restricted levels) of the real physics that quantum theory outlines. So the problem is not that quantum reality is terribly remote or inaccessible. It is everywhere around us and inside us. In fact, as we get more in touch with the true nature of our own perceptions and conscious experience, I think we can appreciate the truth of David Bohm's claim that "quantum mechanics has been experienced by everybody far more than classical mechanics." But we have been immersed in the mechanistic paradigm for so long that we have come to expect very particular things from the physical world. We are used to the Newtonian categories of space and time and solid matter and we can't easily imagine a world that mocks their existence. ~ Danah Zohar and Ian Marshall (The Quantum Society, 1994)
In back of time, space and change there is a fundamental reality

The Law of Life is like a mirror. It reflects back to you the images of your thoughts in exactly the way you think them. You cannot say that It is little or that It gives you but a small portion of Itself when your own thought patterns are limiting this gift. Life has already delivered everything It has to you. But in your personal experiences even that which It has given must, of necessity, be limited to that which you take. It is, then, of greatest value to learn how to receive more abundantly. Just as one studying the piano patiently goes over his lesson until finally his action becomes automatic, so in using the Life Principle you must be patient with yourself. You must learn to strike the right chord. The right chord is always one of harmony. ~ Ernest Holmes (This Thing Called Life, 1943)
Taking what one wants is not the same thing as being open and receiving that which comes to you. It is a matter of internal perspective. To be open is to be receptive. It is this state of consciousness which creates a vacuum that allows for "more" into one's life. Giving is an important part of this process, even if the giving means a giving up of ideas which one has held on to that block the opening within oneself through which they might receive. ~ Dr. Derek Lamar
I will call this higher part of the universe by the name of God. We and God have business with each other; and in opening ourselves to His influence our deepest destiny is fulfilled. ~ William James
And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make. ~ Lennon / McCartney

Of course everything that exists in the universe is not as yet understood. Now micro-fields are being discovered not exceeding the boundaries of the atom: could one not suppose that sooner or later a new macro-field will be discovered which will go beyond the boundaries of atoms and engulf the surrounding space? ~Edward Russell (Design For Destiny, 1973)
The Universe is everexpanding, just as is our consciousness... DL

Despite the teachings of psychoanalytical literature, which have given us an intellectual understanding of the importance of recognizing our negative feelings if they are not to control us, most of the people I meet in small groups do not seem to feel that this is their need. They are tired of the Christian Church's emphasis on darkness and denial and hold it in part responsible for their own feelings of low self-esteem. The cry today is for the attention to be on creativity and gifts and self-worth and play. There is strong resistance to anything that would go back to the old. The glimmer we have from time to time of the meaning and significance of confession is in danger of flickering out, if we do not get hold of a deeper understanding of how intricately our darkness is bound up with our light. No one is going to have a dancing life or a soul that walks in anything but worn-out shoes unless we make some fateful connection with our own evil. ~ Elizabeth O'Connor (Our Many Selves)
We can discover where the light is by following the shadow ~ D.L.

There is an art of listening. To be able really to listen, one should abandon or put aside all prejudices, preformulations and daily activities . . . But unfortunately most of us listen through a screen of resistance. We are screened with prejudices, whether religious or spiritual, psychological or scientific; or with our daily worries, desires and fears. And with these for a screen, we listen. Therefore, we listen really to our own noise, our own sound, not to what is being said. It is extremely difficult to put aside our training, our prejudices, our inclination, our resistance, and, reaching beyond the verbal expression, to listen so that we understand instantaneously. ~ J. Krishnamurti (The First and Last Freedom)
Listen to the whispers of the wise voice within
Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions. ~ Albert Einstein
To understand function before form is to know that behind everything is the idea about it
There is no matter as such! All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter. ~ Max Planck
It is in this Light you shall see forever
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed. ~ Albert Einstein
The mystery is seeing the Truth without understanding it.
Enlightenment is understanding Truth and being at one with it.

Every man is where he is by the law of his being; the thoughts which he has built into his character have brought him there, and in the arrangement of his life there is no element of chance, but all is the result of a law which cannot err. This is just as true of those who feel "out of harmony" with their surroundings as of those who are contented with them. ~ James Allen (As A Man Thinketh)
One's consciousness will attract symbolically the meaning from within ~ D.L.
