Quote of the Day

Thursday September 30th

"So, always treat others as you would like them to treat you; that is the meaning of the Law and the Prophets." ~ (Matthew 7:12 - Jerusalem Bible)
Or as it is commonly thought of as The Golden Rule in the King James Version, "Do unto others as you would have them do to you." Also Buddha said: "Don't do to others what you would not want them to do to you." Again we see Jesus teaching Principle here as Out & Back. Others will not only do unto you what you do unto them but your thoughts will create circumstances and form vacuums wherein your world will outpicture your consciousness and things will happen that reflect what is in your consciousness. You get back what you put out and the most powerful force that is put out by all of us is the mental expression in consciousness of conclusions we have already formed. One can do good things to and for other people but if the thoughts do not agree with the actions it will amount to nothing. And as it is said: "Even that which you have shall be taken away." Or to apply it here, "even that which you do will come to nothing." ~ Derek Lamar

Out & Back continues...

Wednesday September 29th

"Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete them. I tell you solemnly, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, shall disappear from the Law until its purpose is achieved." ~ (Matthew 5:17-18 - Jerusalem Bible)
The only interest Jesus had was in bearing witness to the Truth. The Truth as Jesus understood it and taught it as Principle was the fullness of what the Law represented. It is clear that the nature of our Universe is perceived by us through our state of consciousness and our dualistic form of breaking things down and perceiving them prevents us from seeing the whole picture. Therefore what we perceive is only and always just part of the picture. So what our desire should be is to become aware of the whole picture or to see the completion of what is being expressed. If we perceive finiteness we must see the whole picture which if finiteness is completed we will be aware of the infinity which is in back of all that is. Imperfection seen completely is perfection just as chaos in Truth is Order realized. Conflict resolved is Harmony and disease is Wholeness. The Absolutes of Spirituality is the Reality which is the completed forms of what we perceive. It is a mathematical anomaly which is difficult for many to understand. It is not that we perceive a lit bit of perfection but that anything short of wholeness would become a lack of perfection or imperfection just as anything short of infinity becomes finiteness. If you do not live forever then death is a reality for you. That is the difference between the Truth and only part of the truth. Wholeness is what perfect health is made out of but anything less than wholeness is disease. It is not so much that we must be perfect in order to be alright, but we must recognize that we are already perfect. We do not need to change, we have already changed. What we must do is peel back the veneer of illusion which is keeping us trapped in states of consciousness LESS that who and what we really are. We are not here to abolish Principle, we are here to be fulfilled by it. ~ Derek Lamar

"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me." ~ (John 14:6 - Jerusalem Bible)
This has been used and confused. The bulk of Christianity is based on this "only way" scenario which has been selfishly and small mindedly promoted to build up religion for self serving human interests without any understanding or care of what is really being said here. One must understand always the meaning of I AM. We have here a statement which relates directly to the I AM state of consciousness which was no secret to Jesus. Yahweh, or YHWH, was the revelation of I AM THAT I AM and Jesus also stated that even before Abraham, "I AM." This is an important statement which sets a tone that is eternally unchanging. Jesus as a recognition of the SELF of the I AM states that he is the Way, the Truth and the Life as must we all within that state of consciousness. When Jesus says that "no one can come to the Father except through me" he is referring to the I AM state of consciousness. Just as it says in the old testament that "no man can see God and live," we must understand that the human state of consciousness, man-state thinking, cannot perceive this Higher State. A leap is required. A leap which raises one up to the I AM state. We find that as states of consciousness go there are three which play important roles in the symbology of spiritual development. The man state which is human thinking based on duality, the son-of-God state which comes from the servant role where Jesus says, "I am nothing of myself..." and then the God state which is the Absolute. This is related also in the saying "first there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is." The human says that he sees a mountain, a physical pile of rocks which stands before him, the son-of-God state says that the mountain is just an illusion as is all materiality and that there is no mountain, but the God state says there is a mountain but it is the Highest Idea of what mountain symbolizes within spiritual consciousness. There is a perfect idea of mountain otherwise all of the illusory concepts could not even be produced. So we see that "first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is." Also we see that first there is man alone trying to control his environment, and this is the man-state, then we have the spiritual servant who says that he is nothing but a servant of God and is unworthy and this is the son-of-God state and finally we have the God State where the spiritual insight is "the Father and I are ONE." So we see here on the path to spiritual perfection we go through these phases as the man who thinks he knows, the son of man who thinks he knows nothing and the Oneness of God where real knowing exists. It is necessary to "go through the son of man or son of God state in order to get to the Father, to reach God. These are levels of Consciousness, of unfoldment of Mind and it is not what religion has perceived but something which is a key for all of us on our journey toward the discovery of the SELF. ~ Derek Lamar

Monday September 27th

"'You put aside the commandment of God to cling to human traditions.' And he said to them, 'How ingeniously you get around the commandment of God in order to preserve your own tradition!." ~ (Mark 7:8-9 - Jerusalem Bible)
The human dilemma is of course always how to maintain the status quo and also keep the ego happy. If you look at all of the religions around the world and see how the people live, despite cultures and traditions which appear different on the surface, you will find that everyone pretty much lives the same as everyone else. They all get married and raise families. They all are a mix of people who hate and love each other, make love and kill each other, steal from each other and remember each other's birthdays, and so on. There is no group of people in any country under a religious banner who is really living their life any different from anyone else. I can say I worship God behind curtain no. 1 and someone else honors God behind curtain no. 2 and another may choose God behind curtain no. 3 but has anything changed? Does anyone look at life differently? Do they deal with their inner self differently? Does anyone work or create or entertain or invent or think any differently or is the human ego pretty much in control ruling the masses with complete confidence? And take Christianity for example because that is something familiar with western culture. Look at all of the traditions surrounding their version of worshiping God and how it weaves its little 3 act play around the lifestyles that everyone agrees upon who are engaged in that religion. There is rarely an outburst of personal pain because their religion has forced them to think differently or to make a mental or emotional sacrifice that does not agree with their current way of doing things. Life goes on and people pretend to serve someone Higher and yet they go about and do what they damn well please without ever discovering Truth, God or themselves. This is why for those people nothing changes other than the location of their latest fling. ~ Derek Lamar

"You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect." ~ (Matthew 5:48 - Jerusalem Bible)
In keeping with Out & Back which is the Principle which is based on Oneness that Jesus taught, it was clear to many metaphysicians that Oneness with God is a necessity to complete this network of Cosmic operations. You are ONE with the Father, God, Infinite Mind, Consciousness, Higher Mind, I AM That I AM, YHWH. Being that God is perfect and you are ONE with God you are perfect also. But this Truth is not enough. You must be aware of this Truth beyond the intellectual level. This is what Jesus is saying when he beseeches his listeners that "they must be perfect just as their Father is perfect." It is worded with the therefore within the statement. This is important in logic and formulas for it leads the way to a conclusion. If you must "therefore" be perfect then this perfection is a conclusion based on something. He says that your heavenly Father is perfect. This does not necessarily form a conclusion. It is just one statement. It would be what is called a major premise. So we have a major premise and a conclusion. What would the minor premise be which would support the conclusion of "You must therefore be perfect." It must be "You and the Father are One." Jesus said as much in his prayer where he prayed that "They may be one in us as I am in you." That prayer plus the statement about prayer of "Pray as if you have it already," shows that Jesus' understanding of prayer is the realization of that which already is. Therefore what we end up with here is a complete syllogism which reads: Your heavenly Father is perfect, you are one with the Father, therefore you are perfect just as your heavenly Father. ~ Derek Lamar

Perfection continues...

Saturday September 25th

"Then the disciples went up to him and asked, 'Why do you talk to them in parables?' 'Because,' he replied, 'the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven are revealed to you, but they are not revealed to them. For anyone who has will be given more, and he will have more than enough; but from anyone who has not, even what he has will be taken away. The reason I talk to them in parables is that they look without seeing and listen without hearing or understanding." ~ (Matthew 13:10-14 - Jerusalem Bible)
Parables tell a symbolic story in a way that is less threatening to an audience. Also there, no doubt, was a baraka effect with Jesus' Teaching and changes were occurring within the consciousness the of listeners even though intellectually they did not understand at that time what was fully being conveyed. Anyone who is given more will have more than enough is based on the Out & Back again and relates to an understanding of Principle which operates within their consciousness. Those who do not have a sense of knowing of Truth will often lose what they have gained humanly because within their consciousness is not the full knowing and understanding of the needs fulfilled which goes out and brings back a fulfillment of one's needs. This is like the person who gets divorced and goes out and gets married and finds they are just like their first... nothing has changed. The pattern which brought on problems to begin with is still in operation. There has not been a change in consciousness and even that new marriage which they have put together will not last and will be taken away. ~ Derek Lamar

The Messiah enters Jerusalem"...the whole group of disciples joyfully began to praise God at the top of their voices for all the miracles they had seen. They cried out: 'Blessings on the King who comes, in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heavens!' Some Pharisees in the crowd said to him, 'Master, check your disciples,' but he answered, 'I tell you, if these keep silence the stones will cry out.'" ~ (Luke 19:37-40 - Jerusalem Bible)
A humorous and scientific passage. Certainly scientific as it relates to Meta-Physics. This expresses a common metaphysical law which is called The Law of the Vacuum. If you pump air into a sunken ship, and all leaks have been plugged, except for those necessary for this process, then the amount of air pumped in will equal the amount of water which is pushed out in equal proportions. This is not just a physical law but it expresses the higher law of Principle which is the Out & Back of Consciousness. Even this Consciousness, or the formula of GOD is complete in its Oneness and yet within its mysterious Infinite Variety there is the ongoingness which is deemed necessary in order that it agree with itself. The infinity which is present must of necessity express life and being infinite therefore life is infinite. This infinite life is ongoing thus as ONE Consciousness it must adhere to its own ongoing perfection by expressing itself to itself Out & Back eternally. This Law of the Vacuum is present here in this passage where we see an energy being expressed as humanity receiving and acknowledging the presence of the Messiah. This is not the appearance of a Divine individual alone, but rather the reflection of man's Higher State of Being made manifest for all to see who has eyes to perceive. Thus the recognition of the Self whether consciously experienced or not presents itself on a very energized level. This expression of acknowledgement by the disciples is an energy of life itself, and if it were suppressed, it would express itself elsewhere. This is the meaning of "the stones would cry out." If the energy is expressed it must be expressed somewhere. The expression is the conclusion of the manifestation just as for every action there is an equal opposite reaction. Let there be light and there is light. ~ Derek Lamar

"May they all be one. Father, may they be one in us, as you are in me and I am in you..." ~ Jesus (John 17:21 - Jerusalem Bible)
Jesus prays that we may be One with him, One with God, to be clearly One with all that is. Is this something yet to be that he prays for? Does one pray for things that are not so that they may be? In Mark 11:25 Jesus says: "...everything you ask and pray for, believe that you have it already, and it will be yours." Now one could assume that Jesus believes in fairy tales or some might prefer to say that he is a liar. But he came professing to bear witness to the Truth. It must be assumed therefore that what is being spoken here is a revelation which has as yet to be realized by most. Jesus is saying that you must pray as if you have it already. This means that if you need $1000 you must pray as if you have it already. Now if this is the Truth then one must realize that they already have the $1000. This being the case, then what Jesus is saying is that what is already is and it is all within infinite consciousness and all one must do is realize and know this and it is made manifest. Therefore prayer is but the realization of Truth itself and the acceptance of that which always has been. Thus to pray that we be One with him and One with the Father is to recognize that we already are ONE with God. This means that the prayer is not for the coming about of this concept but merely the becoming conscious of it and it would be made manifest. For in Truth it already is. ~ Derek Lamar

Oneness continues...

Wednesday September 22nd

"Some Pharisees approached him (Jesus) and to test him they said, 'Is it against the Law for a man to divorce his wife on any pretext whatever?' He answered,'Have you not read that the creator from the beginning made them male and female and that he said: This is why a man must leave father and mother, and cling to his wife, and the two become one body? They are no longer two, therefore, but one body. So then, what God has united, man must not divide. They said to him, 'Then why did Moses command that a writ of dismissal should be given in cases of divorce?' 'It was because you were so unteachable,' he said, 'that Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but it was not like this from the beginning. Now I say this to you: the man who divorces his wife -- I am not speaking of fornication -- and marries another, is guilty of adultery." ~ Jesus (Matthew 19:7-9 - Jerusalem Bible)
A curious passage for the metaphysical investigator. One which has been misunderstood continuously for centuries and even down to our recent legal history. Divorce expresses separation and the message of Jesus was Oneness. Thus in the outward appearances Oneness was important and separation was to be avoided. It wasn't a matter of human sexuality that Jesus was talking about however. Jesus was attempting to reveal the mystery of androgyny and how this expresses the True Nature of God. In the beginning God created them male and female. It doesn't say he created males and females but rather he created THEM male AND female. There is much in science and nature to confirm that androgyny may have existed in prehistoric times. Even those educated in anatomy know that the difference between men and women is truly very slight. The male sea horse gets pregnant, certain male penguins hatch their offsprings eggs and hermaphroditic species of all kinds exist on the face of the earth day and in the past including snails and earthworms expressing androgyny. Being both male and female is only a stranger to the fragile psyche of the human ego whose existence is somehow determined by their sex or lack thereof. Jesus says 'I am not speaking of fornication.' This could have easily been understood in today's terms as 'I am not talking about sex.' But instead of understanding the Male Female Principle of Out & Back most went blindly on their way and found a loophole for divorce: adultery. So in the end they could get a divorce and express separateness, duality. U.S. law often required proof of adultery based on this scripture even though this isn't even what Jesus was saying. But who listens? After all, he often said, 'Let he with ears, hear.' What you are as Male/Female should not be pulled apart. We are both male and female just as we have a male and female side in consciousness expressing the out and back of the mind even as in the right brain and the left brain or the conscious and the unconscious or the intellectual or the emotional or the passive and the aggressive. We are all of these things and more for indeed God and this Principle could not exist one without the other. Touch your hand without also receiving that touch. It cannot be done. Go ahead, try it. You will give to yourself and simultaneously receive that. There is no separating this. Male/Female is the ongoing expression of spirituality expressing itself infinitely throughout the universe. ~ Derek Lamar

Androgyny continues...

Tuesday September 21st

"God is spirit, and those who worship must worship in spirit and truth." ~ Jesus (John 4:24 - Jerusalem Bible)
Worship is very misunderstood. Especially as it applies to God. We humanize or anthropomorphize God and in doing so lose the connection to anything spiritual whatsoever. The key to getting into the place where spiritual discourse can operate is to maintain the same frequency, as it were, as the realm of spiritual things. God does not speak the same language that we do. I am not limiting God. It is we who are limiting ourselves. We must speak and understand God's language, at least to the best of our abilities. Religion implies that God created mankind out of loneliness or for someone to worship Him. This is ridiculous. This would mean that God was so insecure that He required something from without to solve his needs. One would have to say that God was dysfunctional. An example of this would be to talk about forgiveness. God cannot forgive you. God cannot forgive you because God holds nothing against you. God does not blame you for anything. To God you are perfect because to God everything is perfect. Does this make God stupid? No. It makes us stupid because we believe things about ourselves which just are not True. In order to operate in "spirit and truth" we must think like God and realize that the worship of God is a process by which we recognize that God is all there is and the infinite magnificence that ALL is. We do not ask for things, we recognize that our needs are already fulfilled. By knowing this we will have what we need. We do not pray for a healing, but rather we recognize that perfect health already exists and when we see this Truth, the appearance of disease will no longer be part of our consciousness. Simply knowing God is an answer to all questions and also the discovery of ourselves. To worship something outside of yourself is to say that you do not exist. We know that God exists and God is all there is, therefore if you are anything which is not God, then you do not exist. ~ Derek Lamar

Spirit and Truth continues...

Monday September 20th

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged; because the judgments you give are the judgments you will get, and the amount you measure out is the amount you will be given. Why do you observe the splinter in your brother's eye and never notice the plank in your own? How dare you say to your brother, 'Let me take the splinter out of your eye,' when all of the time there is a plank in your own? Hypocrite! Take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother's eye." ~ Jesus (Matthew 7:1-5 - Jerusalem Bible)
Again we see a clear display of the Principle of Out & Back here in the dialogue of Jesus. The amount you measure OUT is the amount you will be given BACK. Another aspect to Principle related to this same out and back is the world as Consciousness, your consciousness, and that what you see is your own perception based on your state of consciousness. Thus if you perceive others with problems, planks in their eyes, then you must see the reflection here and do your own work. You must see what it is about yourself that you are observing in others and let go of the error producing this state of mind which is bringing this outpicturing to you. In this manner you will be able to see clearly about these issues to help those who are also suffering from what you have already resolved. Often when you clear up your consciousness not only does a healing occur within you but also within those around you. This is because they are YOU as well. Not only is there ONE MIND but that which appears to be around you is within you as Consciousness and it reflects your consciousness. In this way there is often a healing in others who not only were attracted into your life but you also were attracted into theirs. We all must do our own work but as Mind there is much overlapping in this Oneness expressed as connections, layers and infinite variety. In this way a multitude of splendour expresses itself as order and wholeness and the ongoing unfoldment of mind also works in an intercessionary fashion. It is only a belief that someone can heal someone else, for in the end, as the mystery unfolds and reveals its truest and Highest Nature there is nothing else. ~ Derek Lamar

Sunday September 19th

"Receive the Holy Spirit. For those whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; for those whose sins you retain, they are retained." ~ Jesus (John 20:22-23 - Jerusalem Bible)
Forgiveness is one of the most important and most difficult exercises which are required of the individual to perform. There is so much talk about forgiveness today and sometimes it is superficial while at other times outsiders or onlookers are angered that some people can "let others off the hook" so easily. The first thing to understand is that forgiveness is, really, only for the person doing the forgiving. They are the ones who benefit. The person we forgive does not benefit, on the surface, though there is a more esoteric side to forgiveness where all benefit and are changed. But initially one forgives because it releases them from the bondage of having bad feelings toward someone else which only continue to fester inside of them and result in even physical illness by harboring such "ill feelings." Thus rather than entertaining angry and painful thoughts and feelings one is allowed to fill that vacuum with a sense of satisfaction, contentment, resolve, harmony and wholeness. People do not forgive because they do not desire to let go of the anger that they feel or the pain that they immerse themselves in for whatever reasons. But this holding on does nothing really to get back at the other person that one feels is to blame for the situation. We need to step outside of these events and realize that it is all consciousness and that it not only occurred within our mind, within our consciousness, but that it lives on only because of the continuing life that we give it. Thus our memory of the situation continues as the nourishment for its continuing existence. Not only that, but it becomes a seed which grows even more resentment and encourages the unconscious to form new conclusions based on the old and this has a snowball effect, and so on and so on and so on. This memory within us starts to take on a life of its own and it will become the ammunition which will come back to haunt us as it is propelled outwardly and received back into our life. The Principle of out and back will be experienced here, as it is with all formed conclusions, and what we have come back to us is based on the belief system or mindset which produces that thought and that is within our consciousness. Our world is painted by our thoughts and feelings and if our negative feelings are allowed to go unchecked they become weeds in the garden of our being and soon what began as a paradise becomes a jungle of frightening proportions. We must understand that "SIN" means missing the mark therefore it represents mathematically incorrect information. Therefore you must "forgive" that information or "give for" a new awareness, a new realization by seeing that it too was an event which occurred within your consciousness and somehow all of the roles played by everyone even then mirrored your state of consciousness. You must see that you attracted this situation and wrote a script for it so that not only would it occur as you experienced it, but you would interpret it as you did based on previous misinformation. What you let go will not continue to control you and bring back error into your life but what you do not let go of, what you "retain," will continue to "burn eternally" within your consciousness until it is resolved. It is not a matter of who is right and who is wrong because in consciousness there is only One Mind and that mind is yours. Therefore you must relieve yourself of the discomfort by taking responsibility for all of your thoughts and allow your Divinity to shine forth knowing that all of this occurred as an unfoldment of Mind bringing you to this new and Higher realization of the SELF. ~ Derek Lamar

Forgiveness continues...

Saturday September 18th

"You will learn the truth and the truth shall make you free." ~ Jesus (John 8:32 - Jerusalem Bible)
Sometimes it is quoted as "set you free." But that sounds too passive. There is something active and dominating about MAKE YOU FREE that is exhilarating. In other words, as you learn the Truth you must discard the error and within that process the cosmic engines kick on even without pushing the button. This is the take on certain metaphysics which frightens people. They don't want to change unless they want to. You know what I mean? We all do this. Our ego wants to have a step by step control going on anytime things seem to be moving and if things take on a mind of their own before we even have a chance to work them out, or make it happen ourselves, then we get real worried. Once you learn the Truth there is no argument and it is way too late for the ego to get upset. The ego will probably find a way to take credit for it and even claim that it was what it had in mind all along. But before this happens you will feel yourself back off, get nervous, sweat a little, your mind may wander, your lifestyle check list may come into focus, your shopping list is suddenly remembered, that phone call you already decided not to make becomes a deed undone with which you pursue with great gusto and urgency... but flinging yourself into the arms of Cosmic Intention rarely happens. Occasionally it does and that is a moment to remember. That is usually the one which sets you on the path. You were free and desperate and didn't know enough about what you were doing to resist. But ultimately Truth is a train coming straight toward you and resistance is futile. ~ Derek Lamar

Truth continues...

Friday September 17th

"A man can lay claim only to what is given him from heaven." ~ Jesus (John 3:27 - Jerusalem Bible)
We live a confused life in our world with meaning seemingly chaotic influences and separate and conflicting ideas and thoughts and feelings. But in Reality, in Truth all is in agreement. This is what we must come to understand. The duality we seem to experience is but an illusion based on our state of thinking. But as my Teacher used to say: "In back of time, space and change there is a fundamental reality." This reality is what one might call heaven. This formula, this existence forms the basis for how everything works even though it may seem at times not to work. But work it does. All is One and within this state of Oneness operates the Principle of Out & Back. This is the formula which Jesus taught and which is the operating system in our world. It is called many different things and seen in a multitude of ways but still we eventually see the golden thread of this mystery in all varied creeds, traditions, religions and philosophies. This Reality, this Truth which is based on Oneness is the mathematical understanding which can be depended upon and whether it is called heaven or not, it is all one can lay claim to. It is given to us, meaning, what comes down to us, and that translates as what we become aware of. Therefore the formula of Out & Back is how we must define our perception for it is here we shall discover the reality of all things. Another manner of interpreting this quote would be: "One can only call True what is in agreement with the axioms." Axioms are self-evident Truths which conform to the Infinity of Oneness and the expression of it out and back to itself... the self... my self. ~ Derek Lamar

Out & Back continues...

Thursday September 16th

"Nothing that goes into a man from outside can make him unclean; it is the things that come out of a man that make him unclean. If anyone has ears to hear, let him listen to this. When he had gone back into the house, away from the crowd, his disciples questioned him about the parable. He said to them, Do you not understand either? Can you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside cannot make him unclean, because it does not go into his heart but through his stomach and passes out into the sewer? It is what comes out of a man that makes him unclean. For it is from within, from men's hearts, that evil intentions emerge..." ~ Jesus (Mark 7:15-21- Jerusalem Bible)
Again the message of Jesus is clear. It is a Principle of Out and Back which is being taught here. And this Out & Back is based on Oneness. This Oneness is the God who is all, was all and will always be all. This is Infinite Mind which operates mathematically and as Love as well. The focus here isn't on "evil intentions" but to recognize that what produces occurrences which are called bad result from what we put out and thus get back. This episode has more to do with one's consciousness than whether a person becomes unclean because of what they eat. Eating pork or any of the so-called forbidden foods have nothing to do with the consciousness which is tainted and thus produces conflict in one's life because he is getting back what he is putting out. One's state of consciousness is the formula which is in place that brings about the daily happenings in their life which they claim to be good, bad or indifferent. However, to change one's life they must change from within because this is where the seed is planted. It is here within you that all credit and blame exists. You are the beginning and the end to all that is you and all that will ever be in your eternal quest of discovery. ~ Derek Lamar

Out & Back continues...

Wednesday September 15th

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand." ~ Jesus (Matthew 4:17 - Jerusalem Bible)
Again we must understand the meanings of certain words... ultimately, all words, for it is within the words we use we shall discover ourselves and where we came from and the truth contained within our history. And since we come from the absoluteness of complete understanding, as we trace ourselves back to our beginning in consciousness, which has no beginning, we shall find God. Repent is a word which in the Greek is metanoia. It means the changing of consciousness. The kingdom of heaven, as we discussed before is the fullness of God, Infinite Mind, etc. The term close at hand meant literally "here." What was being said here, which also has been translated as such is "repent for the kingdom of heaven is within you." But this kingdom of heaven has always been looked upon as something separate from God even though it is not. For where would God reside if not within the kingdom of heaven therefore if the kingdom of heaven is within you therefore God resides within you. It is here that we must see that a much deeper teaching was going on than what religion has allowed others to become witness to. Mostly because few have ever understood the mystery here. And others would rather, as Jesus said, "not enter the kingdom themselves and prevent others from doing so as well." So we have a statement from Jesus which literally says: "You must change your consciousness and realize that God is within you." You must realize that YOU are GOD and that this kingdom we seek, this holy grail which you seek is already in your hands and you must drink this spirit of life to its fullest. ~ Derek Lamar

Metanoia continues...

Tuesday September 14th

"You are the light of the world. A city built on a hilltop cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp to put it under a tub; they put it on the lampstand where it shines for everyone in the house. In the same way your light must shine in the sight of men, so that, seeing your good works, they may give the praise to your Father in heaven." ~ Jesus (Matthew 5:14-16 - Jerusalem Bible)
You are the light of the world because you are GOD and the world is your awareness of how much of GOD you have discovered within yourself. So do not be so quick to condemn the world for it is your perception you are judging. But the light of all that is is within you because EVERYTHING is within you. This knowingness is the light. We put this light "under a tub" (under a bushel basket) when we hide this realization from ourselves. We cannot hide from others what is true to us. What we are hiding from others is only the result of not realizing it ourselves. We have an obligation to let our True Self shine because it is our nature to BE who we are and to reveal... to unfold... to express the Truth that is waiting within us. Our Father in heaven is the REALITY SELF which we are struggling to discover and yet, we also spend so much time running away from. We run away from it because our ego, our man-state self feels it will die when its power over us is relinquished. This death of the self is the born again experience often misunderstood, but nothing really dies, but rather wholeness is expressed and we are able to reunite our parts and to integrate those aspects of ourselves which have been at odds for millennia. ~ Derek Lamar

"Once the hand is laid on the plow, no one who looks back is fit for the kingdom of God." ~ Jesus (Luke 9:62 - Jerusalem Bible)
This is not a judgment call or a put down of those who changed their mind and decided not to follow. Do not read into this human interpretation for you will lose its meaning. It is stated in absoluteness because of the mathematics involved. It often helps people to "translate" certain words into another form to help escape the trappings of one's negative feelings about religion. The kingdom of Heaven can be looked upon as the fullness of God, Infinite Mind, the Finished Kingdom or Absolute Beingness among others. And also, think of this completeness as a level or state of mind which one often refers to as the kingdom of heaven. Use the term "the next level of consciousness" and it sounds different immediately. In other words, Once the hand is laid on the plow, no one who looks back is fit for the next level of consciousness. Also come up with another term for "fit" because this sounds like an insult. But it was not always so. Think of this word as it relates merely to a size or like a piece of a puzzle. "It just doesn't fit." This is similar to the word sin which literally comes from an archery term which means "missing the mark." So think of "fit" as the definition of "formulated" or "formatted." Then you would read "Once the hand is laid on the plow, no one who looks back is formulated for the next level of consciousness. Now "the hand on the plow" relates to the tilling of soil as it relates to consciousness and the working on the mind. To look back refers to one who once has done their work, still continues to believe that reality is what they had once believed. Just like Lot's wife who looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. If you add 2 + 6 and get 9 and someone tells you that it's wrong, add it again, and you do and realize, because you have an understanding of the formula of mathematics, that the answer is really 8, you do not look at it strangely and say, ah, it must be 9. No, you know it is 8 because you worked it through. Only one who has not worked it through, one who has not experienced a metanoia, one who has not refiled mis-information and formulated an accurate conclusion based on Truth will look back. So hand laid on the plow is one who is engaged in "the Work." And looking back is doubting the Truth. Thus this sentence actually reads: "Once one is engaged in doing inner work, no one who doubts the Truth will be formulated for the next level of consciousness. ~ Derek Lamar

"Jesus had now finished what he wanted to say, and his teaching made a deep impression on the people because he taught them with authority, and not like their own scribes." ~ Matthew (Matthew 7:28-29 - Jerusalem Bible)
Teaching with authority may have various meanings for many people but to a Truth student the term authority means a lot. It has nothing to do with human control in the usual manstate sense. In fact, to quote my own teacher, he said that "Authority was present as Principle. Truth is the authority. I as Truth is authority. Thane Walker as a person is not. As the Teacher I am authority. If you perceive me as a man with ideas we like or dislike, you are in error. It is the Truth that you must see. The Truth and only the Truth is Authority." A Teacher must have Authority. This is to have the spirit of Truth operating within and through you. There have been those who were "instructors" but they did not carry with them authority and thus their followers did not experience the Charisma which one with True Authority walked with. Authority is the presence of Truth and Living within them. This Authority allows one to speak the "Word" and instruct with Knowingness and Beingness. ~ Derek Lamar

"For a man's words flow out of what fills his heart." ~ Jesus (Luke 6:45 - Jerusalem Bible)
This represents an entire understanding of consciousness. When we begin to understand that our words represent our thoughts and the area of consciousness which we call "the world" which is really just our consciousness of our self reflected in terms which we think of as dimensional reality, then we can understand how it is produced by recognizing that these words, flow from our unconscious. The heart represents the unconscious, the subconscious mind and it is thoughts and feelings which we accepted, stored and filed deep within ourselves and have become a framework and a process which consciousness acts upon and delivers back to us in a somewhat karmic manner a reflection which we often view as outside of ourselves. But in fact, in Truth, we are viewing our own consciousness this way and as we begin to see the world as what does indeed flow from out of our heart then we will begin to face ourselves in a new and spiritual way. This is the beginning process of self-observation. First one must see what is happening and then change can proceed from there. One must get past denial and be at one with even their lowest portions of themselves in order to let go of erroneous thinking.~ Derek Lamar

"Imagine a sower going out to sow. Now it happened that, as he sowed, some of the seed fell on the edge of the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some seed fell on rocky ground where it found little soil and sprang up straightaway, because there was no depth of earth: and when the sun came up it was scorched and, not having any roots, it withered away. Some seed fell into thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it produced no crop. And some seeds fell into rich soil and, growing tall and strong, produced crop; and yielded thirty, sixty, even a hundredfold. Listen, anyone who has ears to hear!" ~ Jesus (Mark 4:1-9 - Jerusalem Bible)
Realize that plants represent ideas just as trees are symbolic of knowledge and wisdom. So plants, like trees, must be planted, just like ideas are planted into one's mind. Therefore, since God or Mind or Consciousness, which is ALL there is ultimately, despite the appearances and what we have been led to believe, as well as our own conclusions based on this over the eons, then everything is Consciousness and all that we perceive are ideas and thoughts. But specifically trees and plants represent this to us because of the element of seeds and the planting of ideas. So when we see a sower going out to sow, this is the process of our planting ideas within our mind and within consciousness. There is nothing that we plant within our own mind which is not planted within consciousness itself because it is all one, but we often think of our own thinking as separate. But this is one of the first mistakes we make as it relates to Reality. We must deal with our own mind just like a garden and as if we are planting seeds which we intend to nurture and see them flourish. This forces us to decide whether or not our thoughts are even of any value. Many people spend an entire day without any thoughts which are of value to anyone or even themselves. This is futile and very self-defeating. But imagine that one is dealing with ideas for the purpose of accomplishing something in consciousness. This means that a seed must be planted with the intention of it growing into something. This requires work. You cannot just scatter the seed along the road. You must develop your mind, your consciousness and just in that manner, in the manner like a garden. Ideas which "fall along a path and the birds came in and ate them" are fleeting thoughts which have no life, no future, no hope, no intention. Those which "fall on rocky ground" are placed into a hardened consciousness which does not accept new ideas. Those ideas which are placed "among thorns" may be well intentioned but what has happened is that the weeds, which represent undisciplined, unruly and self-defeating ideas choke out these other new ideas because they represent change and the mind does not willingly change. The unconscious and the ego feel that any form of change is a death to the control center that these pre-existing ideas represent. This requires some enthusiastic gardening. One must get into their consciousness and pull those weeds by the root and plant new seeds. This pulling of weeds is the process called "The Work" and this tilling of the soil, this managing of consciousness, will bring about rich soil and create and receptive atmosphere for the planting of new ideas based on sound spiritual understanding where real growth and creative expression can come about and endure. The aspect which implies levels of thirty, sixty and even a hundredfold relates the multiplicity of expression which is holographic and based on the infinity of Truth. But there is no absolute formula which picks subjective numbers, but rather the intenseness or clarity of consciousness which expresses the extent of one's understanding of Truth as infinite. Therefore all amounts are related to both one's clear understanding and the unfoldment of Consciousness itself.~ Derek Lamar

"I tell you most solemnly, unless a wheat grain falls on the ground and dies, it remains only a single grain; but if it dies, it yields a rich harvest." ~ Jesus (John 12:24 - Jerusalem Bible)
This dying is a psychological and spiritual experience where one dies to the lies he believes about himself and accepts the Truth in absolute terms. A grain of wheat has within it the power of tremendous growth, therefore it is filled with potential. But when it is planted in the ground, this seed sprouts forth new life and the outer casing dies and falls to the side becoming nutrients for the new growth. So it is with all of our experiences. Not only must we die to error, but we must recognize that even that error brought us to a certain point where we could see that it no longer served a purpose, and though our beliefs may have served a purpose for survival up to that point, we could now let them go, and know that it was Mind Unfolding which was bringing us to this new level of Consciousness and new growth could sprout forth. ~ Derek Lamar

"I tell you solemnly, before Abraham ever was, I Am." ~ Jesus (John 12:24 - Jerusalem Bible) The phrase, I tell you solemnly, is that same as if someone said, "seriously now, I am not kidding," and this was stated because many merchants and story tellers would exaggerate and lie beyond belief and everyone expected it but when Jesus spoke about the Truth, he we being literal and expected people to know that he was not exaggerating, but in fact, in Truth, stating how it actually was. Which is why it is so common to read the phrase "verily, verily I say unto you." And this statement is another one of those statements. Jesus meant this literally. It was not an exaggeration. But he is referring to the "I AM" state of Consciousness as it relates to being ONE with the Father, or with God, with Truth, with Spirit... thus it is the same for all of us, as we understand our own I AMness, we can all say, "Even before Abraham, I AM." ~ Derek Lamar

"The harvest is rich but the laborers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send laborers to his harvest." ~ Jesus (Matthew 9:38 - Jerusalem Bible)
The possibilities are infinite with the unfoldment of mind and the spiritual work laid out before us. The potential for each of us is incredible and indeed limitless. But there are few who are willing to endure this work because it requires looking at oneself rather than others. It means that we must rip away at our own falseness as we reveal the Truth which shines in back of all that is as our only True Identity. Why would there not be more who are willing to engage in this job? Because most people do not want to know the Truth. They think the Truth is what they secretly believe is so bad about themselves... not that they are ONE with Consciousness, God, Infinite Mind, Truth, Absolute, Higher Mind, Allah, YHWH, I AM THAT I AM. Once you know who you really are it is not so frightening to rip away at the human role we play because we know this is not who we are. ~ Derek Lamar

"Master, I will follow you wherever you go." Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." Another man, one of his disciples, said to him, "Sir, let me go and bury my father first." But Jesus replied, "Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their dead." ~ Jesus (Matthew 8:19-22 - Jerusalem Bible)
Seems a rather mute point to some perhaps while others will say "what's the big deal, let him bury his father." But what is really being said here is not clear to most people reading this. The man's father is not dead. But as the son in the Jewish tradition he feels an obligation to stay with his family until his father breathes his last breath and then he will follow Jesus. The Teaching of Jesus was a NOW sort of thing, not a type of class you can take next semester. The Truth waits for no one. If it was the right time, the man should have forsaken all and gone toward his spiritual calling. Otherwise he might as well just attend Temple. Just observe human traditions and hang his head out in public in weeping and wailing. ~ Derek Lamar

"Why does your master eat with tax collectors and sinners?" When he heard this he replied, "It is not the healthy who need the doctor, but the sick." ~ Jesus (Matthew 5:3 - Jerusalem Bible)
What is the true meaning of this famous piece of scripture? It seems plain and clear on the surface and yet, does it not divide the people into thinking that some are better than others? Is this seemingly not a judgment based on prejudice and elitism? Jesus was constantly being attacked with questions. Many did not ask questions so much because they really wanted an answer, but rather they attempted to trick him into revealing something which they could use against him. He was a master at avoiding their tricks and yet still truthfully answering their questions. But over the centuries these answers are obscured by our own idioms and prejudices and misteachings by religion to the point that their meaning is obscured or lost entirely. It has been said that "it is darkest before the dawn." This is little consolation until the light shows itself, but still we must remember this principle. It holds true on many levels. But we must understand that it isn't until one is sick and knows that he is sick that he seeks out help for his illness. So it is with the body, mind and soul of mankind. Mostly people acknowledge when their body is ill but rarely will they admit that their mind or soul is lacking in any area. This is because we cut our hair and trim our nails and even occasionally lose a limb or two or even a kidney and we are still who we are. So there is a certain awareness that our body is not who we are to a certain extent. But again our vanity seems to know no limits at times. But with the mind or soul we are desperate in thinking it truly is US and anything wrong with them would truly reveal something wrong with us. People do not recognize that there is help and that we can cure the imbalances of mind and soul. We must often reach the bottom as it relates to our sense of self before we seek help it seems because we are then at our most desperate state. So the tax collectors and sinners as they were referred to were those people at the bottom who were willing to listen to Jesus as a Truth Teacher and hope for change within themselves. The sinners were those engaged in behaviors which society looked down upon just as they did the tax collector... therefore, each person in these roles must have rejected themselves on some level to outpicture such rejection of themselves through others in their daily lives. These were the people mostly likely to hear the Truth, for they had nothing to lose. Until one gives up everything, meaning no longer fearing loss, they will not discover themselves and who they really are. ~ Derek Lamar

"How happy are the poor in spirit; theirs is the kingdom of heaven." ~ Jesus (Matthew 5:3 - Jerusalem Bible)

The Sermon on the mount is a very famous discourse but its simplicity overlooks the depth of metaphysical implications. This beginning phrase explains that it is out of our depths of despair where in our weakness we find the strength which is truly who we are. It is in our moments of depression and low moments that we reach out for that Higher part of ourselves and let go of the human, the man-state, the worldly, the 3 dimensional and accept the divinity which is our True nature. ~ Derek Lamar

"A man can lay claim only to what is given him from heaven." ~ Jesus (John 3:27- Jerusalem Bible)

A phrase which is well know to most in truth circles is the quote "As Above, So Below." This parallels this statement above and also mirrors the holographic universe theorists when it is explained that the only reality is what we call "ABOVE." This Implicate reality is a template for what is US and WE it. It is the I AM of INFINITY. Anything which we hold to, give loyalty toward, have prejudice for that is NOT from what we call ABOVE is our own belief in illusion. Ultimately even illusion is an illusion for behind what the appearances of all is ultimate Truth. But as we perceive less than a complete understanding of reality we are holding onto illusion and this expresses the man-state consciousness of duality which still creates our world for us. What we experience in our "world" that is not harmonious and perfect and orderly and whole is rooted directly to our own thinking as we create our world with mental seeds that are incomplete and do not adhere to the absoluteness of the ABOVE. We can therefore lay claim to this reality as our own as if it were true but it is a ghost of what is actually going on. As one pursues them self and unfolds their own Reality the ABOVE becomes more and more known within the hardrive of the SELF, as it were and the virus of man-state thinking dissolves. ~ Derek Lamar

"You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect." ~ Jesus (Matthew 5:48; Jerusalem Bible)

You can only be what you are and you are already ONE with all of Consciousness, therefore God, or the Father, or InfiniteMind, or Higher Mind, or Higher Self, or Consciousness, or Allah or or YHWH, is the only identity. This Oneness being all there is is Truth. Truth being all it is whole therefore it is complete and thus being whole and complete it is therefore perfect. You are and Truth is all there is and it is perfect therefore you are perfect. ~ Derek Lamar

"A good man draws what is good from the store of goodness in his heart; a bad man draws what is bad from the store of badness. For a man's words flow out of what fills his heart." ~ Jesus (Luke 6:45; Jerusalem Bible)

Understand that this was a teaching from 2000 years ago and was not yet presented with the politics of correctness. So the black and white example seems harsh to many people but the black and white example is simply there to show the contrast and the principle involved which operates within each of us. And each of us can equally draw from our own store of badness as well as goodness if that is easier to comprehend. Certain definitions will almost immediately clarify this in many ways. The good man represents human consciousness. The heart represents the unconscious. It is within our unconscious or subconscious mind that we store our thoughts and feelings and beliefs which cause us to act out the manner of things we act out upon. Therefore it is clear that those thoughts which have been filed within our unconscious cause us to act and react the way that we do. So when one acts well or bad it is directly related to what is filed within his consciousness. This is not just the speaking of good or bad things but the manner in which one expresses themselves. We all know people who say good and proper things yet they are not sincere, therefore we must understand this principle in its most simplistic form. Think of it relating directly to the behavior and heart consciousness of an individual and how what is inside of him in his consciousness is what makes up not only his life to others, but his life to himself as well. No one creates a hell for others who is not already living in his own hell." ~ Derek Lamar
