Back Q.M.I. In The Tradition of The Ancient Schools

Discover the Path of an Ancient Secret School...

Ancient Schools...
The concept of the ancient "secret schools" is that stream of consciousness made manifest in the world which finds its outlet in what becomes schools for the "student who is ready" and thus the Teaching appears. It is not an established religion which is exoterically controlled but rather a manifestation of Mind itself for the sole purpose of giving the student the opportunity of sharing in esoteric enlightenment through the tools and techniques discovered by one who has gone before them. This is also connected to the Priesthood of Melchizedek whose roots are in Eternity.

Do not be confused or misled by what you read here. This is not a school of "hocus pocus" or of cult-like fantasies which seem to be clouded with pretend visions of some Utopia due to a severe psychological state of denial of earth's problems. This is merely an understanding of those spiritual elements which have gone on through the centuries and which are still valid today. But it does not require you retreat into a monastery or to cloak yourself in some saffron robe or sell incense on some street corner. Neither does it mean that you must shut out the everyday happenings in the world around you. In fact, just the opposite. You must continue to interact in your world but with the new awareness of it being "your consciousness" you can begin to know it better as it is and begin to take control over your world through your thoughts rather than it continuing to control you. The Priesthood of Melchizedek...
The concept of the Priesthood of Melchizedek or sometimes referred to as The Order of Melchizedek (O.M.) is part of the ancient teachings referred to specifically in the Bible. It is a mysterious and seldom referenced aspect of esoteric Christianity and this and other elements of mysticism have seldom been handed down through religious channels. It has been preserved hither and yon through the ancient schools which understand the Path that follows internally in accordance to their True Self.

In Hebrews 7:1 you can read it stated that Melchizedek, the King of Salem, was a priest of the God Most High at the time of Abraham. It is said that the interpretation of his name is "king of righteousness" and also as "king of Salem" translates as "king of peace". Because he has no father and no mother or any recorded ancestry it is understand that symbolically Melchizedek represents that which has no beginning or end and that he is like the "Son of God" and that he remains a priest forever. It is seen in Christ, who represents "an indestructable life" the Order of Melchizedek and he remains a priest forever.

This Priesthood recalls: "that his power to save (Jesus meaning the Salvation of Yahweh: I AM THAT I AM) is utterly certain, since he is living forever to intercede for all who come to God through him" thus meaning through the realization of one's Self: I AM. This greater covenant reveals the deeper mysticism such as: "Learn to know the I AM THAT I AM, the least no less than the greatest, since I will forgive their iniquities and never call their sins to mind." This is a prophecy of mysticism which communicates to us the understanding of this Teaching wherein one's Consciousness is revealed and in their True Self: the I AM, their Divine nature is realized and there is no sense of "sin" within their Mind because there can be no "missing the mark" within that state of Consciousness.

The Priest of Melchizedek is not one who worships the Christ, but rather one who is One with the Christ as the Christ is the I AM. To worship in a subservient position means nothing except to those who think of God in human terms. But to anthropomorphicize God by creating a human mentality which is so insecure it requires worship in order that it feel complete, one falls into the trap of religious ignorance. There is nothing outside of God for God is all and there is nothing outside the mind of the Priest of Melchizedek for that self of the I AM is the same as the I AM THAT I AM which is how God "shall be known for all time" More also on "Melchizedek." ~ Return to the "School"

The I AM Movement...
The "I AM Movement" was begun back in the 1930's under the direction of the Ballards: Guy Ballard (1878-1939) and his wife Edna Ballard (1886-1971). They taught that the "I AM" is the Absolute in everything and that it is a Divine Power which is a revealed state to many Ascended Masters including Jesus The Christ. The Ballards, similar to Alice Bailey and Elizabeth Prophet, were big on the whole "Ascended Masters" concept. It was said that Ascended Master, St. Germain, appeared to Guy Ballard and revealed his past lives to him. Other terms connected with the I AM Movement was The Great White Brotherhood and the Mt. Shasta area in California began gaining a reputation for being a "spiritual area" of the planet. The movement suffered a setback upon Guy Ballard's death and even more serious damage to the reputation happened when Edna Ballard and her son were indicted in 1940 for fraud. This indictment was set aside in 1946 but the I AM movement under the Ballard leadership never regained its enthusiastic support.

Unfortunately the Ballard aspect to the "I AM" concept has tainted its importance for many serious students over the years. But the actual meaning of the I AM concept belongs in the "Ancient School" category because it traces back to the origins of the Old Testament and the mystery of the YHWH tradition. That was when Moses had his own spiritual experience and faced Divine interaction and had the breakthrough realization of "I AM THAT I AM". This "I AM" concept continues throughout the Bible though many people do not realize to what extent. Also, religious students and teachers rarely will acknowledge the Divinity within each individual but rather play the "worship" game of personalities outside of themselves. The whole purpose and premise of the "Ancient Schools" is to recognize the "Inner Self" and its relationship to the whole. You can only make your own "Leaps" when you face your "Self" on all levels. It is difficult and often impossible to come to realize the "Light" of our "Real Self" until we begin to drop the many false images of who we think we are, and see the "One Self" which is the "Reality" of "All That Is." This was a complicated role for Jesus to play and why it unfolded as it did. It was almost impossible for most people to understand the "Divinity" which is within each and every one of us.

The I AM is not a Higher Self for the individual but rather a recognition of the ONE SELF that is the Infinite Consciousness that has been called by many names: I AM THAT I AM, YHWH, Yahweh, Jehovah, Lord, God, The Eternal One, He, He Is That He Is, Higher Self, Divine Mind, Infinite Mind, Consciousness, Being, Supreme Being, One, and so on. This Divine personality is based on Oneness and cannot be related to as separate from anything else. The recognition of the I AM as it relates to Jesus can be discovered in his real name which was Yehoshua, or Yeshua, the shortened version, which in the Hebrew means "God is help" or "to be helped" meaning to be saved, thus "The Salvation of God". In Greek Jesus is Iesous. This version, Iesous, is similar to the stories from India where Jesus is often referred to as St. Issa. The legends of Jesus in India have the estimated antiquity of many centuries. There are also legends of Jesus in the British Isles and also in America and among the Aztecs. This may or might not be the same "man" but it clearly was the same "I AM". The "Ye" or "Ya" in Yeshua... is the same as in "hallelujah" where the "jah" or "ya" means "I AM" and thus we see that hallelujah means "Praise Him" or better yet, "Praise I AM". Again, back to Yeshua, we see then the meaning becomes "I AM salvation". Not the person of Jesus is the salvation, but the cognition of the "I AM" state of consciousness. Just as we can read in Philippians 2:5: "In your minds you must be the same as Christ Jesus." This passage parallels what is also meant in I Corinthians 2:16: "...we are those who have the mind of Christ." Again with the mind or consciousness. This does not mean to think similarly, but it means in absolute "mathematical" terms to be the "same mind" as in ONE MIND. This is Reality. This is the Reality of the I AM Experience. To know with knowing in that realm of consciousness that which is one's True Self, of the ONE VISION which is not rooted in a consciousness of duality. Return to the "School"

The Hall of Mirrors...
The Hall of Mirrors is a concept within Ancient Secret Schools as well as within Fourth Way Schools. Its meaning has to do with the attitude accepted by the true student of esoteric Teaching which will accelerate the learning process. One needs to recognize that everything that they encounter is their own consciousness and everything is their own interpretation of it. It must be understood that Universal Law is in operation and that "you get back what you put out" therefore everything you experience is your own consciousness and that there is no one outside of you that you can blame for your own circumstances. All of those other students you pass in the halls of your experience, whether it be in an actual School or in life itself, will be reflecting, mirroring, your own consciousness in some manner, in some way, and that you must use that information to better understand what it is that you are going through.

All esoteric schools have used the concept of "mirrors" to reflect the Higher understanding of the principle of "Out and Back". Even in subtle symbology like the painting in the Cistine Chapel with God reaching out to man there is that reflective expression in the relationship. Also in Genesis we read that man was created in the image and likeness of God, thus a reflection of that Divine Principle we come to know as "I AM". This is a process of cognizing one's perception and is not a judgment upon oneself. The mirroring is neither good nor bad but simply Principle in operation. However one can begin to see that beliefs, concepts, constructs whether they be true or false will fall into the category of reflection and this will be useful to you in your search for those areas within your life which are blocking your Higher centers. You will begin to see patterns and habits emerge not just in your own life but in the lives of others around you.

You need not accept what you perceive as true and in fact you should not. However you should not assume it to be false automatically. There are levels to "reality" and you will discover that we are not always dealing with "Absolute Truth" when dealing with factual information. However on our journey toward the Light of Absolute Truth we must be as honest as possible with ourselves and begin to see reflections which pertain to our own state of consciousness and learn to deal with that as being something within our consciousness which we must deal with. If we remain in denial we will not be able to let go of beliefs and concepts which are holding us back. We must be able to look at everything and also observe objectively. We can do this by stepping outside of our self and watch ourself and our reactions to what we experience in everyday life. We must note this so that we can keep an account of what we experience so that we can begin to make an educated accounting of those reflections are just fleeting moments and those which are more seriously reflecting states of consciousness within us that we need to deal with. The Calling... being Chosen...
This has often been misunderstood and usually it is a manner in which one is manipulated by others or even by themselves. Religion has perpetuated the myth of "the calling" as it pertains only to the priesthood, specifically the Catholic Church. Whether it be the voice of God to become a priest or a nun, it has long become the archetype of hearing voices on high telling one that their chosen vocation has been chosen for them... by God.

Jesus said: "No one comes to me who isn't drawn by the Father."
Gurdjieff said: "...any human being I happen to observe covers only those whom destiny has brought under my scrutiny."
Thane Walker taught that "Cosmic Intention is always drawing you toward the Reality which we call God."
Derek Lamar said "It is not me but rather something Higher within yourself which you hear through me."

Everyone is "called" but few have the "ears to hear". It is erroneous to think that only certain special people are called. It is just that when it is clearly apparent that someone is called it does seem special. But we are all called to be and do certain things in our lives and often it is never clearly discovered what that has to do with Reality in a spiritual sense. What about the gardener in the movie Being There? Was Peter Sellers "called"? Did John Lennon and the other mop tops have a calling? They clearly changed the world and brought millions of people to discover themselves in different ways and learned about many different things. Was Gandhi called? Were the Wright Brothers called? What about Nikola Tesla?

The important thing about being called is that we must listen. Listening is the most spiritual thing a person can do. This is why we have two ears and one mouth. We should listen twice as much as we speak, at least, and most importantly we should always listen to what we say... often before we say it. Return to the "School"

Destiny...
This is a difficult concept to convey accurately. Everyone has a destiny in the sense of the future. But the traditional concept of a destiny is one which is the predetermined course of events for someone such as the life of Joan of Arc. And usually it is thought of in a spiritual or positive manner as to its good fortune. I am not sure Joan of Arc really had good fortune in the end but still, she had meaning to her life and accomplished great things for France and for God as she saw it. You could say that John Kennedy had a destiny and some would argue that it was cut short. But then we must look at the life of Jesus and as the story is told, part of his destiny also included his death, thus The Passion of The Christ. But each and every one of us has a destiny. And this varies based on how open we become to who we really are. When I began writing on what had already been a course of study for years I gave up pursuing my musical career for teaching these esoteric studies. Clearly I believe for me that this is my destiny. Often destiny is determined by society who views the life of an individual and who that individual's life affected the rest of society but it cannot be subtracted from one's own experience. Each of us has some sort of destiny whether anyone else knows it or not. But a destiny is not something that you yourself decide. It is something you might realize or discover about yourself and you do what you can to help that be fulfilled, but it is not like becoming a rock star simply because you didn't get enough attention at home from your parents. Again, I must add here, that famous quote of John Lennon's... "Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans." Return to the "School"

Miracles...
Step right up. For one thin dime, one tenth of a dollar you can see the beauty meet the beast, the rubber man stretch his mind, the midget become a giant, the woman with a beard become the man with strawberry lips, the dog boy become the catty girl or the beast with five fingers write a book to rival the Bible itself. A circus tent of the bizarre, a three ring circus of magick, mayhem and miracles. How many clowns can you get into a running Volkswagen and how many chelas can you get to break dance on the head of a pin?

This isn't an experiment in the paranormal, it is a rendevous with Reality. Of those who are looking for signs or miracles to be demonstrated, let me make it clear that as The Teacher, I am here, not to get you to believe in me, but to believe in yourselves. There have been thousands of years where the masses have wanted miracles or signs in order that they may believe, but all that ever happens is that they begin to believe in those who perform those miracles. That accomplishes nothing except sometimes putting a wall between you and your own Destiny. You will begin to see "signs" as you can best interpret them. You will hear thing which speak directly to you in ways you would never have anticipated and it will come to you from the same Mind which is spiritual that is also the same Mind in you which you need to discover as your Self. This process which takes place in Closed Class can never be predicted but nonetheless will always unfold as the Teaching is presented and received.

There are no miracles anyway. This is a misnomer. A miracle is something supernatural which comes from "above" and makes itself evident in what we call the "below". But the Above is the Below and that is what we are here to discover and understand. What appears as a miracle is actually the revealing of Truth which is everpresent and but waiting to be known just as it is by the Mind which is already your Mind and the only Mind there is. This is a journey upon which the goal is to discover and reveal that Mind. Return to the "School"

A Final Note...
All of what we have discussed above relates to how important it is to clear up your consciousness. You must work on cleaning your filtering system. If your filters are so clogged from erroneous thinking you will not be able to discern very much and everything will seem different than it really is. To have your self open enough to be drawn to an esoteric school says that you are operating at a level, at least, where you are receiving some information beyond the everyday sense testimony. The Priesthood of Melchizedek requires much in the way of being open to Mind and thus the filters cannot be allowed to distort what is being expressed by Mind. To know one's I AM requires that they be able to step outside of themselves and this takes some work on the filtering system of one's consciousness. Being able to understand and utilize the understanding of The Hall of Mirrors requires a clarity of thought which cannot have one's filtering system interfering with the unfoldment of Mind at every turn. To experience the Calling, again, one must be clear to hear and then to recognize one's destiny they must be able to step outside of their own ego's infatuations with human vanity that they can actually perceive Reality beyond that of Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.

No matter where you get to with your studies you will always be dealing with "your self". Even if you appear to be working with others and helping others you must always know that still, it is your self, that you are working with. If you begin to become attracted to the ego's temptation which whispers to you that you are "helping other people" then you will have allowed duality, once again, to control your consciousness, and you will have thwarted the potential help you might have actually been to yourself and others. Always continue to work on your self and you cannot go wrong. If you find a teacher advanced enough to no longer be working on him or herself, turn and run in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

This information above is not just metaphysical trivia but prerequisite educational material for the serious Truth student. It helps one to understand the paths of others as well as get a closer look at what one faces as they journey through these ideas. None of these terms may draw you toward a need to walk a spiritual lifestyle but in being aware of them you will find that you more easily understand the material and it will facilitate the ease at which change occurs.
